To Jhudora, Not On Her Day by agedbeauty
--------
Today is not Jhudora Day and so I will write
A poem of Jhudora, but not the one you might think.
It won't be hard edges, it won't be Illusen,
But instead the softer daydream behind a blink.
You see, I could write a poem about Jhudora
And write an ode to her purple and green;
I could talk of all her quests and
Call her the baddest of all Bad Queens.
I won't point out her Wand of the Dark Faerie
Makes her the fiercest of foes,
Or that her quests are the hardest,
Because everyone already knows!
Instead, let me point out -
Jhudora's quite the beauty,
And if you have the chance,
Visiting her is not a duty.
For while she may be maligned,
Sometimes her eyes have a soft gleam,
And I wonder as I watch her:
Of what does Jhudora daydream?
Does our dark Queen think about
Knitting a soft pair of mittens?
Or does Jhudora stop to dream about
When her Gruslens were wee kittens?
Perhaps she dreams of being a youngster
And running about Faerieland in play,
Chasing Illusen, tag with Fyora -
A remembrance on each Jhudora Day?
Perhaps our Dark Queen remembers
The things she doesn’t speak of out loud,
The tiny, little softer details before Faerieland fell,
That might have filled Jhudora’s Cloud.
So today I ponder carefully about
A time when Jhudora's life was kinder
And when our dark Queen is sassy -
Well, I simply do not mind her!
