Quote of the Week
To tell the Queen she was wrong would be insulting at best. She felt it was important to keep the peace and act like she was fine with herself. She seemed to have the right Neopians fooled. If only she knew how to fool herself.
They Grey Year - An Interview with Whistles
Altador Cup: The Grey Year The 2025 Altador Cup will forever go down as “The Grey Year” due to the disruptions caused by Vira and her henchmen in Altador. We were able to catch up with each of the teams to get a small update from the teams and players; however, notably missing from the interviews were a few familiar faces. We caught up with everyone’s favourite referee to get an update from the iconic Whistles to see what he has been up to in this offseason and get his take on The Grey Year. Interviewer: It is great to see you again, Whistles. This year was certainly a little different for the Altador Cup. How were things for you this year? Whistles: Different certainly is an understatement. As many know, I fell ill with the Grey Curse, which contributed to the Neopian Yooyuball League’s decision to forgo the typical tournament this year. Not feeling well enough to help referee the matches certainly has made my year feel off as a result. I think I have been able to referee each year since the beginning of the Cup, and so it feels almost surreal that I didn’t do that this year. Interviewer: Speaking of the Grey Curse you’ve been pretty open about your health struggles with The Grey Curse. How have you been doing with your recovery? Whistles: I take things day by day. I’ve seen a fair bit of improvement over the last couple of months. While I still do feel the residual grey often, I don’t find myself crying as much, which is a huge improvement from previously. Hovri has been a great support through all of it. He had a rough go of things after graduating from Brightvale...

A Returning Player's Guide to Keeping Busy
With the recent Gong cha collaboration, we’ve seen a new influx of players emailing TNT to resurrect their old accounts and donning their delightfully cringey Y2K usernames with pride. To those of you, I extend a hearty “Welcome back!” I hope you find Neopets even more engaging and magical than you did your first time playing. After you’ve been back for a few weeks and have gone through the typical newbie stages: complete the Quest Log tutorial, refamiliarize yourself with the site, clutch your imaginary pearls at all the painted pets available in the pound, caught yourself saying some variation of “In my day, you were a big deal if you owned a Draik,” you may ultimately arrive at the age-old question: now what?
All that done, you now find yourself logging in, completing your daily checklist, aimlessly perusing the Neoboards for a few minutes, before you inevitably log out for the day. You’re unsure of where to focus your energy and efforts. You’re seeking a niche activity or community where you can further immerse yourself into the Neopets gameplay, but you’re stuck in decision paralysis because, let’s face it, while Neopets boasts an impressive trove of twenty-eight years’ worth of content, twenty-eight years’ worth of content can be overwhelming. Rest assured we’ve all been there, and I’m here to provide an easily digestible, high-level overview of options to help you fully immerse into the vast world that is Neopets. Here are ideas on activities to complete, goals to strive for, and communities to join.

 | What's Your Neodiac Sign?
Gladia Switch is the Cozy Witch. Honouring the Faeries by following the path of Illusen, Gladia will share her tricks and tips for a cozier and more magical Neolife utilizing peaceful and safe to use witchcraft for everyone to try!
Neodiac signs according to Kreludor's position in Neopia's skies
There are 12 Neodiac signs, each one corresponding to the position of Kreludor in the sky during each Neopian month. With this precise science, astrologers, fortune tellers, and witches can even predict the fate and luck of a neopian's month according to their Neodiac sign depending on Kreludor's current phase alongside some stars and meteors in view at the time. Each Neodiac sign is also linked to an element itself, as everyone knows, ruled by one of our dear faeries: Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Light, and Dark.
The elements and their corresponding traits
Air
An air Neodiac Neopian is usually someone very social. They love to party and are great at dealing with emotions, listening, comforting others, and usually give great advice!
Earth
Earth Neodiac Neopians are usually very realistic, practical, and stable. They are grounded and know what they want. They are also loyal and often stick together. You'll never get rid of your earth neodiac sign friend! |

"How To Give Faerie Quests" by cookybananas324 Baelia ran through the streets of Faerieland, lungs burning, hoping as hard as she could that she wouldn’t be too late. The bus had been behind schedule, and now so was she. At least she hadn’t gotten on the wrong bus or missed her stop; she’d never really had to use the Faerieland transit system back when she’d been a light faerie, and she’d had a few mixups while learning to use public transportation. At last, Baelia burst into the community center. “Good morning,” said the Faerie Lenny receptionist at the front desk. “Can I help you?” “Y-yes,” said Baelia, trying to catch her breath. She glanced at the clock on the wall—she was already five minutes late. “I need to get to the, um, Quest-Giving Certification class.” “Right down that hallway, second door to the left,” said the Lenny, pointing. “Th-thanks,” said Baelia. She hurried down the hall, but hesitated at the door. She heard a voice from inside that was probably the instructor; there was probably no chance she could slip inside without being noticed. After wasting at least half-a-minute trying to gather her nerve, Baelia forced herself to open the door and try to enter as quietly as possible. “Ah, Baelia,” said the instructor—a tall, willowy air faerie with blue cat-eye glasses and ash-blonde hair pulled into a high bun—as soon as Baelia entered. “Glad you made it. I was starting to worry.” Baelia’s cheeks warmed. “Sorry,” she managed. “Don’t worry about it,” said the instructor. “Here’s the class materials.” She offered a few stapled-together papers to Baelia, who reflexively took them. “Take whatever seat you like,” the instructor continued. “I’m Lissabella, daughter of Kyralis, student of Ursalee, and I’ll be instructing your quest-giving certification class today. I was just going over the illustrious history of quest-giving before diving into all the nitty-gritty details of modern-day faerie quests.” Still flushing, both from the run here and embarrassment, Baelia slid into the closest seat... |
"Girls' Night Out" by precious_katuch14 A soft drizzle of snow fell, settling along with the evening over Happy Valley. The rink came alive with various skaters, the roads were full of chatty and busy shoppers, and various cafés and taverns opened their doors for locals and tourists alike. On the side of the road, in a cluster of snowdrifts, a few kids played in the snow, and a stray snowball whizzed just past a Blue Acara’s nose before a Green Eyrie pulled her away from the line of fire. “Heh, thanks, Talinia. That Bruce sure had a strong arm on them.” Grinning wickedly, the Acara bent down, rolled a snowball in her mittened hands, and hurled it into the fray. The Bruce laughed uproariously as they hid behind a tree to dodge the snowball and waved at the Acara and the Eyrie as they walked past. “You’re not so bad yourself, Mipsy,” Talinia remarked. “You must be a snowball fight veteran.” “My cousin’s better, she usually had my back on snow days back in Meridell.” Mipsy glanced at a display of colourful coats in a fancy-looking shop. “Ooh, look at this red one with the pockets! It even has a matching cap – “ Her face fell when she saw the price tag. “What do you mean, this costs thirty thousand Neopoints?” “Don’t you already have a serviceable coat? Besides the one you’re wearing. The maroon one.” “But this one is pretty, don’t you think? Maybe I just want a pretty-looking coat.” Talinia furrowed her brow and stared at the coat. “It is pretty, but can you fit it into your luggage? And wouldn’t it be too heavy to carry?” Turning to look at her, Mipsy said with a wink, “I have my ways, and I’ll just have Rohane carry it for me.” A fleeting smile crossed the Eyrie’s face. “Very funny. Come on, there’s a store down this street that you might like. You did say you wanted to buy a new pouch for your wand and your other magical items.” She gestured for Mipsy to follow her. “Speaking of Rohane, I…he’ll be fine on his own, right? He really took a beating from that battle with Kolvars.” “He’ll be fine. He said so himself and even told us to have fun...

"Stuck: A Pound Story" by shaman_i_am No matter what I do, I just can't get them to see me.
Owners walk by, all different kinds, to look at my friends. Like wares in a shop, they're judged and inspected until somehow, some of them are deemed adequate. Those lucky few get scooped up and taken to a new home... especially if they have what the owners call 'good names.' My Cybunny ears always hear them say things like 'Ooh, what a beautiful name!' and 'This name speaks to me!' I wish my name would 'speak' to someone, whatever that means. I guess Blubunbun isn't special enough to get anyone's attention. I'm starting to think that my name actually REPELS people. Is that possible?
I weave my way in between some of the bigger Pets on my way to the cafeteria. In my haste, I bump into a Green Grarrl.
Oh boy, now you've done it, I wince to myself.
The behemoth turns around, anger on his face. "Hey! Who did that?" he growls, knuckles cracking. "You're gonna get a pounding!"
He scans his surroundings. His red eyes pass right over me. I realize something, this time with relief, other times with frustration and sadness. This Neopet - like so many of his peers and even the owners - does not know I exist.
Just for fun and as a little experiment, I shout with a mixture of fear and adrenaline,
"I'm right in front of you, big bully!"
He has no reaction. The Pets he can see have cleared out of his way, trembling in fear. Each one believes they're somehow responsible for starting this whole thing. Part of me wants to tell them what really happened, but none of them are looking at me. I am Hidden. With a sigh, I find a way through the crowd. Clutching the book in my paws, my mind pulses, frustration giving way to excitement.
The cafeteria is, as usual, a crowded mess. I dart through gaps in the busy line of Pets waiting for food. I recognize some of them - especially Star_pony_508, the Red Uni who first greeted me when I arrived here. I just call her Star. Nicknames are a necessity over here.
