Quote of the Week
Despite her looks, Pepper had been an Engineer. She was capable of working on technology and devices of any capacity. Pepper was twenty years old. She thoroughly loved puzzles and riddles, which she was much better at than Maximilien, despite how smart he had been.
10 Items To Get You Ready for Usukicon!
*High-pitched screams* OH-MY-GWORTZ! The best event of the year is here! Usukicon! It’s a pink parade! This is the time all of us doll collectors go absolutely CRAY-ZAY over the new releases, the playsets, the collector’s editions, the goodie bags… *sighs* It’s like Usuki Dreamland, right? The name is Lucie, by the way! You may know me as Neopia’s biggest Usuki fan, some even may say… frenzied Usuki fan!
You are absolutely mistaken if you think you can wear whatever to the event. This is NOT the time to be comfortable—it's the time to shine and show everyone at Usukicon that YOU are the ultimate Usuki fan with your Usukifit. Got it?
So get in, loser, we are going to steal these 10 ideas that will make you, like, the coolest Usuki fan ever!
Usuki Dream Car
Vroom vroom! Everybody make way for this pink cruise! You have to arrive at Usukicon in style, and you'll be turning heads with its red velvet seats and glossy finish. Is it a fast car, you may ask? What is its engine like? Silly questions! The only thing that matters is looking cool! And you will look absolutely FABULOUS in this car.
10th Birthday Usuki Birthday Lunch Bag
Cool collectors stay well-fed and energized throughout the entire event. That’s like, the basics, you know? This Lunch Bag is not only THE cutest thing, but it’s also super high tech- whatever, and it keeps your food warm (or cold!) for a long time! Which is exactly what you need, because you’ll be walking for HOURS to snag the best deals on Usuki dolls. |
Best and Worst Dressed: Usukicon Edition
Every year at Usukicon fans dress up and cosplay as their favourite Usuki. It's a chance for fans from all over to come together. But, we must say, every year some are way better than others. Some Neopians put a lot of time, energy, love, and energy into dressing up like their favourite Usukis. Others simply try. And, still, others don't seem to try at all. No offence. Okay, maybe some offence. This is our best and worst dressed list from this year's annual Usukicon. Find out if you or your favourite made the list (yay) or if they made the list (boo). Top 5 Worst Dressed The bad, the worse, and the ugly. Let's get into it. And if you or your favourite is on this list, don't worry, there is always next year. Well, maybe worry a little bit since this is how we will think of you for the next 364 days. At number 5 we have Fun in the Sun Usuki Reject Wearable. Why? Why would you want to look disheveled? We understand that dressing down is all the rage these days, but there is a difference between dressing down and dressing like you crawled out of the sewer or you lost the fight with the Vocivus the Ceaseless Gormandizer. Usukis are known to be fashionable, and this is NOT it. Dress to impress. You never know who you will run into where, or when. Number 4 we have Teenager Usuki Reject Wearable. Again. Stop this trend. Please. We beg. Have some self respect. Or respect for fashion. Or your fellow Neopian. Something. Just anything to not be showing up to real life events... |

Begin With a Luxurious Bath
You may own every Limited Edition Usuki, but forgetting this first step will have you remembered by everyone for entirely different reasons. Wash away the sand from your last adventure through the Lost Desert, and brush out knots, snarls and tangles in your locks you got as you wandered around Haunted Woods. Nothing completes a luxurious bath better than a wash with Usuki Magical Shampoo followed by Usuki Magical Conditioner. It will leave your hair with a long-lasting silky shine. They will surely keep your hair smooth, elegant and convention-ready from the moment you step through the doors.

"A Mutant at Usukicon" by the_academy_awards ”I can't make it this year!” For my brother, Neopia-Famous Media Personality Gorel Goldenrod, the Month of Hiding was always packed. He sat on a telethon for Early Advent, judged a sandcastle competition in Krawk Island, and more events I would have to hear about and edit into something readable for The Times. But this year was different. “My schedule is just too packed!” with a sigh (Cybunnies are just so dramatic), he flopped on the daybed in his office, the hot sun of his office in the Lost Desert shining through gauzy curtains. “I’ve just been invited to return to Faerieland for the official induction - coronation - something of the new Council! It’s very important! I can’t let the public down! Something will have to give.” After a moment’s silence, he hopped up, went to his desk, and stared at the giant calendar upon it, where all his event dates (and his signature, practised daily) were. He pointed. “Usukicon! I’ll have to pass this year,” He shrugged. “Pity.” I sat in a winged scarab chair, editing an article. “I never had the feeling you liked it.” I said, not looking up. “Really? I’ll have to work on that for next year. I mean, it’s a little gaudy, but –.” He grinned. “ I just had a smasher of an idea – You should go!” “I should go?” “You should go!” I set aside my clipboard. “Let me try that again. I -” I gestured to my green fur, beady black and red eyes, and sharp claws. “I should go to Usukicon?” “Yes, you should go.” He pressed. |
"From One Usuki Fan to Another" by xakemii Stella hopped from paw to paw as she waited impatiently outside the Usukiland shop. She, like so many hardcore Usuki fans, had been camped out all night waiting for it to open. It was, after all, a very special day. It was finally Usukicon! And while Stella would spend the whole day trekking around Neopia and taking part in the various Usukicon events, she always started her favourite day of the year in the same way: at the Usukiland shop battling it out in order to try and purchase all the newest Usuki goodies. It was, truthfully, quite a stressful experience—clambouring over Acaras and Jetsams alike in a desperate attempt to secure the most prized and limited items. One year, she had even been clipped by a Grarrl’s toenail as the Grarrl, feet clad only in flimsy sandals, had tripped over Stella’s paw. She couldn’t complain too much, though. Just the year before, she had been pushing about in the frantic crowd and gotten the better part of a Usul’s tail in her mouth. She wasn’t sure who had been more mortified when she had promptly gagged and slobbered all over it—her or the Usul. Still, there was something about the whole ordeal that Stella loved. She loved being surrounded by all fellow fans in the queue, all forgoing a good night’s rest in order to try and be one of the very first to enter the store. She loved rushing through the store doors when the apprehensive storekeeper, a usually cheery Blumaroo, opened the doors. |
"An Unusul Usuki Doll" by hfallyn Willow took a steadying breath as she punched her friend’s phone number into her Slorgeous Flip Phone and raised it to her ear. The familiar, taunting ringing began. Where was she? It wasn’t like Una to be late and certainly not like her to miss calls. The friends bought their tickets for Usukicon months ago. They’d dreamed of attending together since they were little girls playing Usuki dolls at sleepovers. Now, all grown up, they were mere minutes from achieving that dream. They’d made their own shirts for the convention featuring collages of their favourite dolls and splurged on matching, purple and green Magical Hair Usuki wigs. They’d planned to camp out overnight together in hopes of being some of the first Neopets let into Usukiland for the big event.
The Disco Wocky sighed as she left her umpteenth voicemail before following up with a quick text. Something had to be wrong. Una would never miss this event. Perhaps she should leave and go to her friend’s house; but, if she did that, she’d lose their spot in line. A tap on the shoulder interrupted Willow’s racing thoughts.
The Wocky looked up from her phone to see an impatient Shoyru behind her nodding ahead. Willow spun around to see the line had inched closer to the entrance as Usuki fans crowded together in anticipation. The doors would soon open, and her Rainbow Usul friend was nowhere to be found. Willow wiped her sweaty palms on her jeans. |
