Quote of the Week

As soon as the fitting room door closed behind Prigpants, Kiyoshi let his arms flop to his sides and wiggled them aggressively until the feeling came back into his fingers. He arced his back in a stretch, wondering if Tyra was back yet.

So You've Never Played the Altador Cup Before...

Altador Cup Returns 2026 As you have probably already heard, Altador Cup is approaching! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is NOT A DRILL! But if you're anything like me, maybe, possibly, you've never really participated before and are wondering how you could start. Well, fret not! We can figure this out together. Maybe you've taken a pretty long break from Neopia and missed several tournaments and are no doubt wondering what's new. Maybe you've heard veteran players passionately defend their teams without really understanding why. Maybe the idea of it all just felt like too much. Or maybe, like me, you've simply never participated before. Well, whatever the case may be, I have some good news for you. This is a GREAT year to begin. The Excitement Starts Early! Unlike previous years, the festivities begin before the first whistle blows. Beginning June 22nd, the Press Tour returns, complete with daily trivia questions. How to Survive a Jelly Festival Gone Wrong

A brand new Jelly-themed festival is rumoured to make its big debut in Neopia during the next week, amidst polarising opinions by the general public. On one hand, those in favour of the festival are looking forward to enjoying a day of jelly, bounce and jolly time. With alleged jelly rides and slides, new jelly products and a brand new beverage, the adventure seekers are in for a treat. On the other hand, growing concerns of the amount of jelly required and its rate of growth - due to its unpredictable nature - has led to a grand portion of Neopians believing that it is a recipe for doom. To try and persuade the negative public opinion and relieve some of the fear behind the erratic growth rate of jelly, we are exploring some effective ways of combating this gelatinous substance. During an emergency at the festival, please take these precautions to mitigate the threat and stay safe. Stick ‘em with the pointy end In the unlikely case that you find yourself face to face with a growing mass of jelly, it is important to, firstly, grab the sharpest object you can find in your surroundings. With the pointy end pointing towards the jelly, start poking holes into the incoming threat.

Dining Out: Kelp on a Budget

Kelp is, without question, the most expensive restaurant in all of Neopia. Because of this, it has gained quite a reputation for affluence, where only the most elite of Neopians dine with regularity. Some Neopians save up for years just for the chance to dine in at this exclusive restaurant, just to order the most expensive things on the menu, while others may sit outside and hope for any leftovers of any kind. Even those who dine in are regularly hoping they get enough they can take to their Neohome to enjoy later. So nice everyone would eat it twice. While you can order the most expensive things on the menu, should you choose (Fresh Oysters, Ocean Platter, Octopi Souffle, and Twirly Fruit Blend by the way), you can also dine in on a budget. But you need to be prepared with your order ahead of time and go in with confidence so you don’t look too out of place since you do have to order from every course on the menu in order to not insult the chef. That’s where I come in. This guide to Kelp will make sure you don’t break the bank but also get your money’s worth while remaining conscious of any dietary restrictions. You will be able to say at least once in your life, “I’ve been there!” for others to be jealous. And maybe, just maybe, you can afford to go back and, if luck is on your side, even score some leftovers.

"The Rainbow Racer" by black_skull725
It was a warm, sunny afternoon in Faerieland. Clean-up from Vocivus’s trail of destruction was underway. Faeries and Neopets alike were scrambling back and forth, moving wheelbarrows of rubble away from and ones full of supplies toward Faerieland. Luxinia approached Iridesia and tapped them on the shoulder. "How are you holding up?" she asked. Iridesia sighed. They glanced at all the activity around them. So many needs still need to be met. Nevertheless, the progress was heartening. "I'm doing alright, Luxinia. But all this council stuff is weighing on me. Honestly, I need a break. There's something I've been meaning to show you at my house," Iridesia replied. They walked to Iridesia's home, which wasn't too far from the Faerie Castle. The home stood intact, having avoided much of Vocivus' wrath along with Drakara's. Inside, it was still the mess that they had left behind when Fyora first called them to assist. Iridesia went to their desk and pulled out a small notebook from the drawer. "This my sketchbook. There's one thing I wanted to show you," they said, handing it to Luxinia, open to a specific page. Luxinia peered at the page they had it open to. On it was an old design of a cloud racer. The wings, in particular, were in the same colour pattern as their own. The body of the racer paid homage to every element, with streaks of racing stripes in the colours...

"The Juma & the Tomamu: A Shenkuu Fable" by drziggs
In the tall, misty peaks of Shenkuu Mountains, a small Juma Petpet scuffled in the underbrush among the bamboo forests. His pointed snout snuffled among the fallen grass as it searched for delicious Doughnutfruits. The Juma was sly, always knowing the best places to look for hidden fruits, and he carefully treaded through the forest on light paws, an orange tufted tail waving in the breeze. Before long, he came across a still pond with verdant lily pads covering its surface. The Juma quietly waited at the edge of the forest to look for danger before it could take a drink. While not dangerous, the Juma was unsurprised to suddenly see a white-feathered Tomamu glide into the area, the Petpet gracefully landing at the water's edge as it dipped a slender beak into the pond. The Juma grimaced a bit at its elegant entry. Those flying Petpets think they have it all, the Juma thought to itself. Always able to escape, having freedom from the difficult mountain climbs. Someone should bring them down a level. The Juma was quite jealous of the feathery wings of the Tomamu, and looked at its own earthbound paws in disdain, not realising that those same paws gave it the ability to tread without noise, and to dig burrows to safety. Flicking its fire-orange tail, the Juma decided today it would play a trick on the Tomamu. It approached the pond with a swagger and addressed the unaware Petpet.

"We Parade with Pride!" by bisscoito
Growing up in a religious household kept Gulye from truly knowing himself. His mother was a devoted follower of King Coltzan, whose teachings held that pride was a sin — or often, the root of all sin. For a long time, Gulye grew up surrounded by a way of life built on denial, especially the denial of who he truly was. From an early age, he was taught to focus solely on goals meant to secure a promising future: study until exhausted, land a good job, and become an honourable man. He never felt comfortable sharing his dreams with his eight siblings, especially given their humble background, which offered few opportunities to get ahead. Though his teenage years passed without major trouble — quiet, even somewhat monotonous — he realised early on just how different he was from the boys around him. He shared their love of sports, their heroic ambitions, and their mischievous streak; nothing unusual there. But whenever the conversation turned to girls, Gulye always found a way to change the subject. Handsome, well-mannered, and exceptionally bright, he was constantly surrounded by young women, yet he never showed the slightest interest in romantic relationships with them. During family nights in front of the television, watching soap operas and series, he found the romantic scenes on screen rather… uninteresting. Meanwhile, his mother and sisters would be moved to tears, swept...
