What's Your Favorite Chocolate?

by wallks

--------

Have you ever wondered, “What is that famous Neopian’s favourite chocolate”? Maybe not, but today all your questions (even the ones you haven’t asked at all) will be answered! We interviewed 10 famous Neopians (it should be eleven, but a certain ice snake reared up and fired an icy blast at me), and we got all their favourite delights that cocoa offers us. Come and enjoy that sweet journey on the finest and famous tastes of Neopia.

King Altador - Altador Cup Chocolate Coins

Our beloved King loves those coins like they were made of pure gold, but they are made of the finest milk chocolate based on Exquisite Ambrosia founder’s original recipe that is kept safe by King Altador himself. The package contains Golden Mote particles, bringing added luxury to this chocolate fit for royalty. King Altador remembered when his grandmother used to make this chocolate for him: ‘It was my favourite time back then… I remember waiting for my grandma to unmould it and give me the first coin. To this day, the taste of these chocolate coins reminds me of her castle kitchen and those afternoons when I didn’t need anything to be happy.’ When I asked him to describe the coins, he simply said: ‘They taste like happiness.’

Chef Bonju - Milk Chocolate Orange

Chef Bonju loves orange, not just because it is his colour. Back when he was on the Cyodrake's Gaze, oranges were what he had most readily available for his recipes, and through this, he developed a particular taste for that acidity which is sweet at the same time. The first time he saw Milk Chocolate Orange was inside a Candy Cane Stocking he was gifted for Christmas; his eyes sparkled with joy when he tasted his palate exploded with flavour, and since then this ‘citrus magic chocolate’* has been his favourite.

*Note: These were Chef Boju’s exact words… I don’t know why he thinks it’s citrus… It’s plain milk chocolate shaped just like an orange; orange is not among the ingredients, nor is it used as a flavouring agent.

Lucy The Nurse - Tombstone Chocolate

As we know, Lucy is now a skeleton, but when she was alive, she wrote several diaries, and in one of them she wrote about this Tombstone Chocolate, made with the finest dark chocolate and decorated with a few things whose origins are best left unknown. I found a passage in one of her diaries that said, and I quote: Today I brought one Tombstone Chocolate to each of my patients; it wasn't medicine, of course, but seeing a smile on every face was for sure medicinal.’

Edna the Tower Witch - Wrapped Halloween Chocolate Chia

Edna loves Halloween, and it might even seem obvious that her favourite chocolate is a Halloween one, but the truth is: that is right! She only likes it because it is a Halloween chocolate shaped like a witch. It is not high-quality chocolate (I’d go so far as to say it has no quality at all), and there is a strong chance it is mouldy inside the package.

     Topsi - Mini Chocolate Neggs

Organizing a negg hunt is what Topsi loves the most, so it is no surprise that his favourite is a bunch of chocolate neggs he can hide everywhere! More than that, he loves the variety of colours and flavours these Mini Chocolate Neggs have, making everyone happy with their prizes after the hunt!

Ellia The Unis Clothing Shopkeeper - Chocolate Bow

Ellia lives for everything that is fashion, pretty, expensive and ICONIC! And her fondness for chocolate is no exception. Inspired by the most famous accessories on the Neo York runways, it’s a statement of high fashion to all Neopian fashionistas. The Chocolate Bow is not just pretty; it is exquisite and highly coveted by haute couture lovers. But take note: just because we are at the Chocolate Ball season doesn’t mean it’s a good idea… as Ellia said: ‘Chocolate Bow? For Chocolate Ball? Groundbreaking!’

Bank Manager - Chocolate Covered Lime Gummy Gem

‘I am rich, I love riches, I love jewels, I love Neopoints’ – That is the exact answer I received when I asked him why Chocolate Covered Lime Gummy Gem was his favourite. In my research, I tried to find something about this candy, but it is just a lime gummy gem covered with dark chocolate. Delicious? Sure! Special? Not at all! I can only assume that it’s the gem shape only. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get much information from the interviewee.

Kelp Waitress - Chocolate Seashell Sculpture

While I was dining at Kelp Restaurant, I asked the waitress what her favourite chocolate was. Immediately, she said, ‘Our Triple Chocolate Shell is phenomenal!’, so I told her I wasn't asking for a dessert recommendation from the menu, but rather that I really wanted to know what her favourite chocolate was. She wandered for a few moments and, with a big smile, said that Chocolate Seashell Sculpture is her favourite, not just because it is delicious, but because it is a work of art. After a quick chat, she brought the check and thanked me, since customers rarely asked for her name, let alone her favourite chocolate. After I paid and left, I realised I hadn't asked for her name...

     Gargarox Isafuhlarg - Chocolate Gormballs

These Chocolate Gormballs combine his two passions: cooking at the Grundo's Cafe and playing Gormball. He created this balls mixing chocolate and marshmallows and introduced it ate the Chocolate Ball in Year 7, since then it’s a huge success among all his friends at the Gormball field (except for Farvin III, the Alien Aisha, they don’t eat chocolate where they come from)

Fyora The Faerie Queen - Chocolate Crown of the Faeries

Don’t be fooled, it’s not just because she is the faerie queen that her favorite chocolate is in the crown of the faeries shape. There is some history behind it. Long time ago (when Faerieland still floated above Neopia), Fyora was blue; she was missing one of her favourite aids. Seeing her down like that, one of her fairies called to the Chocolate Factory and ordered a special dessert for her queen with all of her favourite things: milk chocolate, whipped cream, marshmallows, strawberries and cherries (Note: some people say that the cherries are actually Cherises, but it is fake news). The chocolatier made the dessert in the shape of the crow that was (allegedly) blessed by that aid Fyora was missing. When she saw that Candy Crown, her heart filled with joy; it was the most thoughtful thing anyone had done for her in years. Since then, the Chocolate Factory keeps the Chocolate Crown of the Faeries in stock for all Neopians and for the moments when Fyora feels nostalgic.
