Love letter to Mystery Island

by _micko_reborn

--------

Another morning of rain, winter has been such a pain,

I groan into my bowl of Neocrunch cereal.

How I wish to fly on a plane, and feel the soft sand again,

Of that island most mysterial.

To be greeted by that eternal smile,

Of the great stone Techo mountain.

That most famous isle, hundreds of mile away,

With waves as serene as a fountain.

I’ll pack my sandals, towel, bathing suit and sunblock,

Oh I just can’t wait to be strolling along,

That sun-bleached boardwalk.

To my boss I will say, “that’s enough, I am off”,

On a glamourous beach getaway.

I want sun, I want sand, I want to be in a dream land,

Swimming in a pleasant bay.

Those work emails I will snooze, for it’s a beach cruise I choose!

I’ll find an extravagantly expensive villa,

And live in luxury just like Nigel the stockbroker Chia.

Didn’t you hear,

Mystery Island is the most popular holiday spot in all Ne-o-pia!

Sunglasses on, and from dusk and till dawn,

I’ll live it up like the locals do here.

Taking naps in a hammock, till you just can’t stand it,

I won’t want to leave I fear.

Now if only I could find a good spot for that umbrella and towel...

But there really is no need to scowl.

For if this beach is too packed, I will simply backtrack,

To that sunny atoll over there.

And while the Mynci’s toil, over an endless game of beach volley ball,

For me, well let’s see,

I will swim in the sea,

Till my problems back home seem quite small.

Salt air and snacks,

Oh yes, I truly can relax,

Under the shade of a majestic palm tree.

While work is so grey, we could sunbathe all day,

“to holiday on the beach forever!” I decree.
