Celebrate the Holidays with Festive Petpets!

    Christine: Welcome! This holiday season, there are many ways to celebrate, and celebrating is so much better with a buddy! That’s why every Neopet should befriend a Petpet, if they haven’t already.

Ella: My Petpet is SPOILED!!! Seriously, she will cry if I don’t rub her belly all day...

Angie: My Petpet isn’t too much trouble, and I’ve been with her forever!

Maldice: I have been trying to teach my Petpet some magical spells, with moderate success.

Christine: Well, for those who don’t have a Petpet yet, I have gathered several winter-themed friends for the holiday season. Without further ado, here are the Petpets:

    ---Candychan---

    Christine: The Candychan is a Neopian classic. While he’s not as hard to find as he used to be, he’s still a loveable friend. Just don’t let him wander off and get lost!

Maldice: Interesting... I wonder why he has leaves for wings? Leaves are the last thing I’d expect to see in Happy Valley...

Angie: I don’t know why, but I think his leafy wings are really pretty! Can he fly?

Maldice: Of course!

Ella: Notice that he has pointy ears, just like a faerie. I wonder if he’s related to faeries in any way?

Maldice: I wouldn’t be surprised.

Angie: Maybe he’s related to Taelia! That would make sense.

    ---(Festive) Christmas Baby Blu---

    Old/New

    Ella: Why are there two of them?

Christine: The first one is the old and discontinued Festive Christmas Baby Blu. Even though you can no longer paint one, he can be bought from other users. The second one is the new Christmas Baby Blu which you can paint.

Ella: I see... They can be twins! Twins don’t have to be identical.

Maldice: I wonder why the design was changed?

Angie: If I had to guess, it was probably changed to match the Christmas Blumaroo:

    Ella: Too bad the new Christmas Baby Blu doesn’t have earrings to match his Neopet counterpart.

Angie: The image was probably too small to draw the earrings in. He’s still really cute, though!

    ---Christmas Babith---

    Christine: If you enjoy Christmas lights, look no further! This species of Petpet likes to play practical jokes.

Ella: Meh... Not my kind of Petpet, then. I have been pied in the face one too many times by my sister Lerlifia!

Maldice: True... She would love this little guy.

Angie: What powers the Christmas lights?

Ella: Faerie dust, I hear. It can solve any issue!

Angie: I see. What keeps the lights from burning the poor little guy?

Maldice: Faeries can perfect any spell! Rest assured that the lights are at the correct temperature.

Angie: I would certainly hope so. Anyway, the lights look fantastic on him!

    ---Christmas Bython---

    Christine: Now you can have not one Petpet, but two! A Bython consists of conjoined twins. The Christmas Bython was given out by the Advent Calendar in Year 25, but can also be painted.

Ella: I wonder what caused them to become conjoined?

Maldice: Bythons are capable of space travel, so maybe some mysterious force from outer space caused them to conjoin.

Ella: I see. I imagine that life would be a lot more interesting if I were conjoined to one of my sisters!

Angie: I suppose that conjoined twins quickly become best friends... except for Chirucks, who argue all the time:

    Christine: Chirucks are only available from a lucky zap at the Petpet Lab Ray, making them elusive.

Maldice: Anyway, I think that Christmas Bythons are beautiful, with their shimmery scales and golden bow.

    ---Ice Eizzil---

    Christine: Speaking of Lab Ray exclusives, the Ice Eizzil is another one. Consider yourself lucky if your Petpet transforms into one!

Angie: I see. Will the poor little guy melt?

Maldice: No, a spell has been cast over him which prevents him from melting, even if he were to travel to the Lost Desert.

Angie: Well, that’s a relief.

Ella: I hear that Eizzils love muffins!

Christine: They absolutely do.

    ---The Eizzil’s ears perk up upon hearing the word "muffin."---

    Ella: Well, then, I guess I’ll have to bake him some muffins... or at least buy them from the store!

    ---Snow Feepit---

    Christine: Well, this Feepit is adorable, with his scarf and leafy tail!

Angie: Agreed! I hear that Feepits are named for the sounds they make when they call to each other.

Ella: Who came first, the Feepit or the Meepit?

Angie: I don’t know, but I’ll take a Feepit over a Meepit any day! Meepits are seriously creepy, and they bite as well.

Maldice: I actually like Meepits. You know that I like things that are dark and creepy.

Ella: I vote for the adorable Feepit! I trust him enough to give him a hug. Plus, his fur is so soft and fluffy.

Christine: Well, Meepit lovers can enjoy the Christmas Meepit, pictured here, this holiday season:

    Maldice: Perfect! A friend for everyone.

Ella: The Christmas Meepit is dressed like Santa!

Angie: That Santa robe looks very warm, perfect for the snowy climate in Happy Valley. I would love a robe like that!

Maldice: Come on, a Santa robe?!

Angie: Why not? If it’s warm and cosy, that’s all that matters.

    ---Snow Yooyu---

    Christine: The Yooyu is the star player of Yooyuball, revered by Altadorians. This Snow Yooyu moves at a slower pace than usual. He could be purchased at the prize shops for Altador Cup V and Altador Cup XV. Those prize shops are closed now, so you’ll have to buy him from another user, as he can’t be created with a Snow Petpet Paint Brush.

Ella: I imagine that he is very cold to the touch. ---pets Snow Yooyu--- I was right!

Angie: How can Yooyus STAND being thrown around all the time? I would get motion sickness...

Ella: Agreed. It sounds like Petpet abuse, especially since Yooyus can sustain injuries from being knocked around.

Maldice: My spells will cure them, as will a quick trip to the Healing Springs.

Ella: It’s still abuse, though... I wonder why the PPL hasn’t complained.

Angie: Very true!

    ---Snowickle---

    Christine: The Snowickle is another Neopian classic. While he isn’t rare anymore, I’m sure a lot of Neopets, particularly an Ice Hissi, would love a mini Snowager as a Petpet!

Angie: Yeah, a mini Snowager to guard all of a Neopet’s possessions... and make anyone who tries to steal them regret it.

Ella: Apparently, Snowickles love to collect shiny things, and they will cry if you confiscate them.

Maldice: Yeah, he’s a hoarder... just like the big Snowager.

Angie: I never understood why people try to rob the Snowager while he’s sleeping. Is some junky item really worth a trip to the Neopian Hospital when the worm inevitably wakes up and catches you in the act?

Ella: There are a few possible items worth a thief’s time... but stealing is wrong, of course, and I don’t condone theft.

Maldice: Agreed! Thieves who try to rob the Snowager get what they deserve.

    ---Conclusion---

    Christine: So, which Petpet was everyone’s favourite?

Angie: Probably the Candychan. So cute and magical!

Ella: The Snow Feepit! He’s adorable.

Maldice: The Christmas Babith, since his lights are powered by spells.
