Quote of the Week
Kass considered the other through squinted eyes, his normally hardened resting face becoming harder still. When Galgarroth’s gaze remained unwavering, the Eyrie let out a weary sigh, then wordlessly tilted his beak towards the door.
A Caretaker’s Guide to Void Petpets
The following article is taken from the research procedure log of Eventide Grundo, Calder Valin, as he conducted his observations on the new void-touched Petpets that have started circulating around Neopia.
Purpose of these notes are to observe and create procedures for the Void Petpets’ behaviours, mannerisms, and safety of our Void-affected companions. These Petpets are being housed in a special, secure annex within this Petpet care facility.
I. Intake Procedures
When a new Void Petpet arrives, it is important to require some necessary details. Confirm owner paperwork, or fill out the wild Petpet form. Trust me when I say this: it will create less headaches down the line when owners come to retrieve their Petpets.
I have found it interesting to record the Petpets glow intensity upon intake as it can vary Petpet-to-Petpet. Other things to observe and note is if the Petpet is making any unusual sounds outside of their species and if the Petpet casts more than one shadow—void orbs are known to disappear and reappear around the small creatures. (Almost like they have their very own orbit!) |
The Best Petpets for a Neopian Summer
When the sun is shining over Neopia and the sea breeze rolls in from its many coasts, every Pet knows it’s time for adventures in the Month of Relaxing! Whether you’re spending your days splashing through the waves at the beach, sipping icy slushies beneath a palm tree on Mystery Island, or cheering yourself hoarse during the Altador Cup, the perfect Petpet can make every sunny memory even brighter. Of course, not every Petpet is suited for summer fun. Some prefer chilly mountain caves or gloomy haunted forests. Others, however, absolutely thrive under the summer sun! If you’re looking for the ideal companion to join your pet in their warm-weather adventures, here are some of the very best Petpets for a Neopian summer. The Ultimate Beach Buddy: The Babaa At first glance, some of you out there might wonder if a fluffy Babaa is really beach material. Trust this reporter — they absolutely are! Babaas are surprisingly relaxed creatures who love sprawling out on warm sand dunes for afternoon naps. Their thick wool also makes them perfect floating companions when paddling through shallow waters.

15. Invisible Gulper
Is that an extra appendage we see right smack in the middle of the Gulper’s face? Is it a nose? A way to plug their blowhole for a fun party trick? You be the judge. Possibly it’s a light to help you find them in the dark … or perhaps so they can find you. Does that make them 'glow-in-the-dark'? No, glowing is a different colour; don't be absurd.

"The Lost Spardel" by qeenoneo A warm, sunny day had been forecast ahead, perfect for shopping and relaxing. The weather forecast in Neopia Central read:very sunny, still air. There was no rush to get out of bed, no urgency to start the day as these were the days I wore the largest smile on my face. I continued dozing in my basket at the foot of Rosco’s, my Gelert, own cushion near Mother’s bed. There was a time we all used to share her bed, but she was always the one who ended up pushed right to the edge on the brink of falling. Mother and Rosco had come to an agreement that we would leave the bed to her, and we got our individual beds near her so we could still be close together. My name is Spots, a Spotted Spardel (the most unique name, I know), and I am Rosco’s best friend. I was given to him as a gift on the 25th Day of Celebrating 4 years ago, and we have been inseparable ever since. The bond we immediately felt was like no other, and I knew he would always protect me and I, him. |
"Where Mischief Leads: A Meepit Story" by kindnessx Daisy the Yellow Kacheek had always believed Neopia Central was the safest place in all of Neopia. The streets were busy and filled with clanging shop bells, and to her it felt like the comforting hum of everyday life. And even though she enjoyed a quiet life, it still felt like home.
Except for today. Today did not start off feeling entirely that way.
Daisy stood still in the middle of the plaza as her eyes scanned the crowd for the hundredth time, her paws and worrisome voice shaking as she called out his name.
“Dave? Dave, where are you?" There was no answer. No squeak. Not even a little giggle. Just the laughter of joyful Neopians passing by and the clanging of nearby shop door bells. She realized then that Dave, her little Pink Meepit, was gone.
Daisy had only turned away for a moment to admire a basket of fresh fruit outside the food shop. Dave was perched on her shoulder as he often did, his glowing red eyes darting out of curiosity at everything around him. |
"Drackonack in the Details" by drziggs Another sunny day in Meridell, and villagers were screaming in panic through the crop fields as dirt, carrots, and marrows went flying every direction. Farmers scattered everywhere as the earth cracked beneath them, showering all in a torment of freshly overturned and manured soil, along with any remaining vegetables that grew and took hold in the short period without disruption. Carts were overturned, carrots scattered, and seedlings uprooted as a force under the ground made a zigzag through the fields. No one could say for sure exactly what the cause was, but it was something huge. Half-bitten produce littered the fields afterwards, and Meridellian farmers stood dumbfounded at the large, clawed prints scattered in the dirt. An Ixi farmer threw her hat down in disgust and stomped on it. "Another crop ruined! What are we supposed to do for this year's harvest?" A Techo peasant warily observed the saliva coating a half-eaten carrot.
