Quote of the Week
The twisted trees loomed above him, with their bark shaped like crooked grins. The forest was dense and accompanied by the smell of damp earth, thick with illusions and an unearthly presence.
Chocolate Horoscopes for the Neopian Zodiac

The stars have aligned… and they’re covered in chocolate! This month, the cosmos is craving something sweet, and your destiny might just lie in a Mint Chocolate Chia Pop or a bag of Chocolate Mynci Noses. Whether you're a mischievous Scorchio or a dreamy Uni, find out what decadent treat is written in your stars—and what it says about your near future in Neopia. So grab a spoon (or a napkin) and dig in!
Chocolate Korbat Wings (Jan 1 – Feb 3)
Forecast: You’re flying high this month, but beware of sticky situations—especially around the Battledome. A sweet surprise awaits you at the Chocolate Factory… or is it just Bonju in disguise? Don’t let frustration clip your wings; your flexibility will save the day, especially when someone tries to “borrow” your last piece of fudge. Trust your instincts (and keep a few napkins on hand). By the end of the month, you’ll have more than just melted chocolate on your hands—you’ll have an unexpected ally.
Chocolate Fish (Feb 4 – Mar 9)
Forecast: Dive deep into your feelings (and your Safety Deposit Box). You’re due for emotional growth and maybe a rare item trade. Watch for underwater chocolate—it melts weirdly. Someone may surface from your past, offering you either closure or cocoa. Your sensitive side shines brightest when you share your treats, so don’t be afraid to hand over that spare Chocolate Cybunny Paw. The currents may feel overwhelming, but chocolate floats—and so will you.

Quiz: Which Chocolate Petpet Are You?
If there is one thing that everyone around Neopia loves, it's chocolate. It doesn’t matter if you’re living in the depths of Maraqua or hiking the tundra atop Terror Mountain or even in between rebuilding at Dacardia, for chocolate is the great uniter of all. In the spirit of all things and colours chocolate – as well as all things fun – we have put together a little quiz to let you know what kind of chocolate Petpet you would be. Have you ever wondered this? If so, now is your chance to find out! If not, why not? Have you no whimsy? This quiz is simply based upon your birth month – scroll to find your month and you too can discover what kind of chocolate Petpet you would be! For it is written in the stars! Those sweet, delectable, creamy, smooth stars… The Month of Sleeping (January) You would be a Chocolate Turtmid! Turtmids are shy creatures known to retract into their pyramid when frightened. You often react similarly. You do not like confrontation and would rather hide than engage with any negativity or drama. Your kind and delicate heart is a precious gift that should continue to be protected from harm. The Month of Awakening (February) You would be a Chocolate Nebularis! These little guys are known for loving the cold and the dark, and quite often it looks like that outside this month. The chocolate version takes inspiration from chocolate covered strawberries which are very popular around the 14th. |
 | Science with the Seekers: A Sweet Discussion
You’re in for a treat, Neopian Times readers! Welcome to a special edition of “Science with the Seekers.” Today we will be hearing from a panel of university professors on the temperament (Dr. Jolly, Brightvale University), diet (Dr. Comida, Meridell College), physiology (Dr. Hazart, Brightvale University), biology (Dr. Hollyhock, Citadel College), and history of chocolate petpets (Dr. Noble, Meridell College). We have received a number of questions from college students across the tri-kingdom area (and beyond) that have been pre-selected for these interviews.
Coaster JW Technical School:
Was retired professor turned part mad scientist and part Petpet connoisseur Dr. Gormex (Virtupets Institute for the Culinary Arts) consulted for this research?
Yes, indeed! Professors from across Neopia have contributed to this research, including Dr. Gormex, by studying the habits of native and Neopian-made Petpets. This includes conducting long days in the field, compiling literature reviews, and bridging relationships between formerly warring nations for the betterment of all Neopians.
Norbert O. Solanum (Brightvale University):
What is the history of Chocolate Petpets in Neopia?
As ship travel has improved over the last decade, more expeditions have occurred on the Neopian seas. It has only been in the last 25 years that natural populations of Chocolate Petpets were known to science.

"The Chocolate Thief" by _brainchild_ It was the 15th of the Month of Gathering, which was Walda the Baby Kacheek’s favourite holiday: the Chocolate Ball! Chocolate was her favourite food, which she had loved as long as she could remember. Her family, knowing how wild she could get after eating so much chocolate, had banned her from attending the event, but she had decided that no one would stop her. Thus, she set her alarm for 5 in the morning and snuck out of her house to be the first one to sample the delicious creations which would be on display. The Chocolate Ball was being held in Queen Fyora’s castle in Faerieland, so Walda arrived at the castle. Prancing past a sleeping guard, she could already smell the delicious chocolate in the building. Once she entered the ballroom, she was in absolute delight. On display were all different types of chocolate, enough to serve thousands of Neopians, and ready to be eaten! However, what drew her curiosity was a giant object covered by a cloth. She approached the object and unveiled it, revealing an enormous statue of Queen Fyora... made entirely of CHOCOLATE! |
"The Giant Chocolate Negg" by barrelchic22 It started as just another Tuesday in Neopia Central. Shopkeeper Neopets were arranging their wares, Baby Neopets were being fed their breakfasts, and at the Money Tree, a seemingly ordinary Chocolate Negg had been left by an anonymous donor. Kira, a Blue Zafara, excitedly claimed the Chocolate Negg from the Money Tree, planning to save it for later in the day and have it as an afternoon snack. But as she held it, the Negg began to grow warm, then began to shake and vibrate. "That's odd," she murmured as she examined the Negg, turning it over in her hands. It jerked once, twice, and then bounced right out of her hands and landed with a soft thunk in the grass. The Negg then began to expand like a chocolate balloon. Within minutes, the Negg was the size of a Petpet. Then a Neopet. Kira watched in puzzled astonishment as the Negg continued to grow to the size of a small Neohome! Word spread quickly, and it wasn’t long before representatives from every corner of Neopia had gathered in the plaza, watching in amazement as the Chocolate Negg... |
"The Sweetest Night of the Year
" by heart_stealer292 It was a Friday night when the invitation arrived, and I nearly dropped it out of sheer shock, though to be fair, my claws weren’t built for handling delicate letters. However, it wasn’t just any letter; it was bound by a golden ribbon with spots of chocolate drizzle and delivered by a Chocolate Faellie. Their fur shimmered and was dripping melted chocolate from its ears. It made a slight noise, dropped the envelope on my doorstep, and ran off, leaving behind faint chocolate pawprints. I lifted the envelope carefully with my trembling claws, its faint scent of cocoa lifting off the letter up to me, sending a shiver down my tail. Inside, the words read: “You are cordially invited to the Annual Chocolate Ball.” I squealed so loudly, I startled a flock of Beekadoodles off the neighbour’s roof. The Annual Chocolate Ball. The legendary gala Neopia whispered about every September. I’d read every article the Neopian Times ever printed on it: gowns sculpted from pure chocolate, fountains that poured endlessly, feats that could topple a Skeith. But invitations?
