Oh. Oh. She had to admit, with all the insanity surrounding that confrontation with Xandra, she hadn’t been sure he’d even realised what she almost said when he was pretending to switch sides.

The Special Plushies of TDMBGPOP

I'm sorry, the what? If you’re not familiar with that seemingly random string of letters, TDMBGPOP is the “short” name for The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity. You’ll find this stuffed little guy hanging on the tree in Faerieland… And, sadly, no matter how much you want to, you cannot take him home with you. But that doesn’t mean he’s useless. Far from it! For users who want to collect all the plushies in Neopia, or those just looking for some unique and interesting ones, TDMBGPOP’s got your back! If you’re lucky, you may see something like this: “It was very kind of you to visit this worn little plushie. Oh, what's this? There is a NEW plushie on the ground nearby! You're sure you can give the plushie a new home.” While The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity will not leave his tree, he may entrust you with a plushie of your own to take care of! These plushies can only be received through TDMBGPOP, not purchased through the Plushie Palace. Prior to 2018, he gave out one of six plushies. He no longer rewards these, but they can still be found inexpensively in user shops. Currently, he can give out ten plushies that fall into one of two categories: the discarded plushies and the painted faerie plushies. Let's take a look at both of them...

A Sloth Fan's Cake Reviews

Warning - this edition of Neopia Central Almost Official Sloth Fan Committee Newsletter contains sponsored content. I know right! Me! Would you believe it if I were to tell you that I have been rewarded for my journalism already? How many issues has it been so far? I personally have lost count. Anyway, do you remember a couple of editions ago when my focus of this now esteemed publication was the inspiring and beyond description Sloth Day Burgers? Well, it turns out that word got around amongst the Shopkeepers of Neopia Central - all of them - and The Bread Maker aka The Blue Bakery Kacheek (who is currently Grey but the least said about that the better, it’s not the focus right now and I need to focus!) got in touch with lil’ ‘ol me. Here’s the story so far. Yesterday morning, I was fetching the post from the doormat for Mum and there was a letter addressed to yours truly, SlothFan127. It was an invitation to the Bakery to taste test and write up an article about the range of Sloth Cakes that they have in their inventory. And you know me: Sloth - tick - I’m down for anything (and I mean anything) Sloth themed. Then cake - also tick! Sign me up immediately. Then hold me back. Then let me actually go because this is an opportunity designed for me. Also I’m a hungry fellow...

A Miniguide to Investing

Neopia, a land of opportunity with endless ways to make money—playing games, doing daily quests, fighting in the Battledome, or, as I will explain, investing. As a returnee, I enjoy being a businessman; with more life experience under my belt, I now know that investing is one of the best ways to make Neopoints. The Stock Market Find a company with a current stock price of at least 15 Neopoints, purchase 1,000 shares each day, and sell them in the future when they are worth more. It is commonly known to “buy low, sell high,” but the logic of this is simply to minimise losses in case of bankruptcy—although the companies in Neopia are seemingly too stable for this to happen. It can be hard to predict what stock will go up in value and when it will, so it is good to keep your portfolio diverse. The Stock Market has limited daily sales; therefore, it is better to sell your shares sooner rather than later and reinvest the profits into ventures without daily limits, like items—which causes a bigger compounding effect. Compounding Compounding is the way to get returns from your original investment’s returns. Let us say you purchase 1,000 shares in a company from the Stock Market, and after a few months your investment has grown from 15,000 Neopoints to 30,000 Neopoints, a 100% increase. This profit you can invest into another company at the Stock Market, and just as an example, let us say...

"An Important Delivery" by lunaticrave
The rustling leaves filtered goldenrod specks onto the beaten path. A slight chill stung Ivasco’s cheek, and his arms braced for the imminent swoop of winter’s embrace. He sped his stride to evade the shivers that accompanied the nearing nightfall. The Xweetok’s belly grumbled for a toasty beverage. From picturing the gentle steam wafting from a tenderly poured Aisha Hot Chocolate, his mouth watered. The bittersweet cocoa will soon be his. A sigh of relief left his mouth when his paw dug into his pocket, heft with Neopoints: enough for one drink to end the day. As the sun dipped behind the foothills, a rusted glow gave way to cooling purple hues, transforming the comfy village houses into a muted landscape under the stars. Ivasco hurried his pace further. His next step became swifter than the last, his foot barely touching the ground. He paid no mind to the clashing winter headwind hardening his brows. Adrenaline rushed his veins and the reality of an Aisha Hot Chocolate waxed...

"A Lesson From My Hero" by lyzzy170
Trell checked his watch again. 11:48. The entrance to the gate was starting to fill up with other fans. The Tyrannian Chomby arrived 2 hours and 42 minutes ago to claim the first spot in the now very long line. Trell had been waiting for this day for over 9 months and now, he only had 12 more minutes to go. Trell took a deep breath and checked his ticket one more time. The ticket read: “Admit One — Meet and Greet, Featuring: Loryche, Captain of the Team Tyrannia.” A small Kougra shifted on his feet next to Trell, glancing over his shoulder. “So you won the lottery too, eh?” the Kougra asked him. “I did. 9 months ago. And you?” Trell asked, looking at the Kougra. He was wearing a Team Tyrannia kit and Team Tyrannia Wrist Bands on each paw. He must be rich. The Kougra sighed, “Yup, sure did. Only took me 4 years to finally win.” Trell started entering the lottery to meet the Team Tyrannia captain in Year 15 when his favourite team won the Altador Cup. That was the first year the lottery opened. Before then...

"The Librarian and the Crown" by cookybananas324
Faerieland Castle was, in general, a pleasant place to visit. It had been designed—and renovated over the centuries—with beauty in mind. The walls were painted in soothing tones of lavender, pink, and off-white; paintings by some of Neopia’s most talented artists hung on the walls; gleaming decorative vases and finely-carved statues lined the hallways. But now, as Seshatia walked into the entrance hall (on crutches today, not her wheelchair; it wasn’t one of her bad days), her heart twisted. Most of the rubble from the catastrophic fall of Faerieland had been cleared away from the entrance hall; it was one of the more public parts of the castle, and so had it had priority for cleanup and repairs. But the damage was still plain to see—damaged artworks had been removed, some of the hallways were taped off, and workers with hard hats and tool belts were buzzing about. She almost envied those workers. Their task was difficult, but mostly straightforward. Hers… ...well...
