Most Fashionable Neopians: Terror Mountain Edition

by spukl1

--------

Greetings Neopia! Miss Prickles the fashionable Uni reporting for duty! I have donned my Snowbunny fur jacket and ice skates and set off to the mountains…Terror Mountain that is. Terror Mountain is the land of ice – of blues and whites, fancy furs and holiday delight. I drank my Borovan looking off the top of the Mountain, and Kari showed me her collection of Neggs inside the Cave. Nothing is cozier than Terror Mountain when it comes to fashion and vibes. So, pull on your boots and get your pencils ready for notes, I am now reporting the best and the worst of Terror Mountain style.

     Best Dressed:

     1. Taelia the Snow Faerie. It should come as no surprise that Taelia tops this list like her home on the Mountain. Taelia shines in her ice-blue floor length coat which bring out her dazzling eyes. That furry coat is needed for the winter snows, but still considered elegant. With ebony hair and frosty skin, it is no secret that she is considered an ice princess. Best of all Taelia is not afraid to play up her features with bold makeup… in devastating shades of blue she pulls off an icy look that is avant-guard and iconic. Let us not forget her adorable Snowbunny sidekick whose presence melts her icy facade.

     2. Evil Elf . You may be surprised to see Evil Elf up here, but his attire is classic and timeless. You can never go wrong with a red and white hat, matching tunic and black boots. It makes Neopians feel nostalgic for the Advent Calendar and is symbolic of Terror Mountain. The shade of red contrast perfectly with his green, like a warm cup of borovan! If I could add anything it would be a touch of sparkle, but when I told him that he threw a snowball at me!

     3. Zaira . Zaira gets everything right with her outfit. In shades of pastel, she looks like a snowflake. She borrows Taelia’s iconic bob, but makes it her own with a little curl and highlight. Her green dress and matching also parallels the Evil Elf’s classic uniform, but she scales down the fur and adds feminine touches with buttons and bows and makes it much more modern. Voila! She is soft and chic with nods to classic Terror Mountain styles, while still bringing in her youthful and modern style to make it her own. Zaira is certainly one to watch!

     4. Alpine Challenger . She is the breeziest Usul in town, and the greatest talent on the slopes! No one can pull of white fur quite like she can! The Alpine Challenger has ultimate cool girl style, with her purple accents, and a crossbones sticker on her helmet, she is someone you can’t help but admire. I only hope one day we can be the best of friends and share clothes.

     5. Ice Crystal Shopkeeper . Adorable, classic style but in a surprising shade of organic asparagus. Once again, we have a style that is traditional in Terror Mountain: a fur sweat suit, but the Ice Crystal Shopkeeper knows his colours are not the red, blues and greens that we typically see in Terror Mountain stores. He is tangerine and so having the contrasting shade of organic asparagus really makes him pop. He is adorable, pastel and FABOO *snaps*.

Next up, these Terror Mountain residents had me shivering with repulsion at their outfits…

     Worst Dressed:

     6. Kari. Normally, faerie style is hard to beat but Kari’s choices are… well… CHOICES that I certainly wouldn’t make. *cough* Kari’s Negg collection is impressive and high-end but no one can take her seriously with that green polka dotted fur. Where did she even get it?! Her style is giving Tyrannia meets Habitarium, neither of which work for Terror Mountain. No wonder she never leaves her Cave. I would love to see her in a green and white fur coat (a la Taelia’s style) and embracing warm-toned diamonds, she could certainly pull them off!

     7. Granny Hopbobbin . Oh my, dearie, you need some fashion help! While Granny certainly considers herself Neopia’s grandmother… I think we all feel a bit differently. Instead of giving off ‘cosy’ vibes like she is trying to, she looks sinister and I that is a direct reflection of her soul…. Ahem, I got carried away there – back to her clothing. I actually think her coiffed up-do, simple mascara and round glasses are perfect for her. Even the knitted scarf can stay. However, she needs to lose the layers of shawls and that patterned dress that looks like it was made from her couch in Year 2. For Granny, I would suggest a Cosy Quilted Blanket to wrap around herself. The colours match her knitted scarf and are a nod to her hometown in Terror Mountain. With this shift in attire, she would look like a warm hug and I would be proud(ish) to call her my Granny!

     8. Reina . I love the enthusiasm but there is just a little too much going on. Reina is already painted a gorgeous shade of Christmas, so we need to tone down her outfit to highlight how well she pulls off her colour. Let’s start with the positive: I love the big green bow and how her hair is styled, I also love her gold trimmed holiday skirt but those are the only two elements I like. She needs to give back the ornaments to the Firs and lose the pink gloves. I adore a festive sweater but we need to add some colour balance. I would suggest swapping out her blue sweater for one with shades of red, green and gold to tie her outfit together. She needs to allow her antlers and red nose to shine! Reina has plenty of time to grow into her own style but for now she is marked as UNFABOO.

     9. The Bori Miner. I understand that this hard-working Bori is not necessarily trying for the best dressed list but besides being unfashionable, his outfit is also impracticable! Wearing a muscle tank top in Terror Mountain? How will that ever keep you warm?! And wearing it while mining does nothing protect his arms. We need long sleeves to make sure he does not come home with any new scars! On that same note, he is wearing shorts! Shorts in Terror Mountain is a huge faux pas. I will NOT even comment on those strange shoes, his damaged tail or that neck brace (?) since they are just too offensive to my sensitive eyes. He needs to take some fashion tips from the Grundo workers at the Virtupets Space Station and get himself a jumpsuit! I, of course, would be happy to accept any of his gems in exchange for a fashion consultation…

     10. Tarla Honestly, nothing is wrong with her outfit. I just have not forgiven her for that dreadful Tour of Mystery she forced us all to participate in many moons ago. When she apologizes for that silliness, she can be moved off this list. Until then, I will consider her un- *clap* fashion- *clap* able *clap*.

Well, Neopia, feel free to weigh in on my picks for the best and worst dressed in Terror Mountain. Who will be on the list next week? You’ll just have to wait and see. Stay Faboo!

     Fashionably yours,

     Miss Prickles
