Julyannie sneezed as she landed on the rough terrain.
"Geez, they have technology in Neopia as advanced as something that could
get you somewhere beyond our galaxy, but still not have a cure for the
common cold," she muttered.
"Wow!" Julyannie thought as she stepped out of her space
ship. "This means another world for fellow Neopians to explore on the
Explore page!" Julyannie thought excitedly. "I wonder if there is any
life here?"wondered Julyannie.
Julyannie collected samples of the plants and 'grass'
on this new planet. She decided to name it 'Constant July', after herself,
and how the planet was very, very warm, but the ground STILL HAD ICE!!!
Now was that possible or what?
This striped Aisha then got out her discovery sled. She
took her remote control. She called the sled, and got on, to explore a
little. How great it would be if there was life on Constant July!
She explored a little, and collected more plant samples
for analysis later. She spotted smoke coming from the east. Through the
haze, she could spot the world of Neopia as a tiny, little star. This
was a planet ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SUN! Julyannie decided to find out
where the smoke came from. She took a Battle Mirror, in case the need
arose in this hot planet.
This courageous explorer came across a steep hill.
"Oh, what the hey, it'll be fun after 3 years of sitting
in a spaceship!" Julyannie exclaimed.
She slid down the hill only to realise her fate.....
***
"WHEE!" Julyannie squealed. Oh yeah, this is WAY better
than her best friend's parent's amusement park! WAY BETTER.
"Oh NO!!!!" she yelled. There was a HUGE gaping hole.
She couldn't stop now, there was ice here! Julyannie tried to grab for
the plants around her, but couldn't quite reach them.
Uh oh......
"OOFF!" she groaned. She landed in the hole. Her whole
body ached, and she had broken her leg very badly. Her head hurt the most
even still.
Julyannie still had her brain though. She reached for
her remote but it had been crushed.
"I still have a spare!" she cried weakly. No, she
didn't. July was just getting crazy. Her helmet was cracked and who knew
what type of virus lurked in the atmosphere? Julyannie moaned, and finally
passed out.
***
Days later, she opened her eyes and felt horrible pain.
She didn't notice the pain though, because there were alien creatures
looking over her.
They were about 1.5 meters high, and were gray and bony.
They were skinny, and had huge eyes.
"I---uhhhhh---I ha-have to g-get back to my -ow! that
hurts! Don't poke me!----space -ow! Cut it out!-- my space shuttle. Can
you - OOOOWWW!- help me?" she asked.
The creatures didn't understand English or Neopian for
that matter. They scratched their heads and moved her onto her broken
sled. Julyannie figured that they knew what she was talking about, and
relaxed in the sled. Her broken leg hung off the side and her head bumped
the ground below.
Julyannie forced herself to keep her eyes open, but soon
it was a horrible chore just to do so. Moments later, the pain in her
leg became too much. She passed out, which meant that she would have no
control over what the aliens did to her.
***
She opened her eyes and screamed. The aliens didn't look
surprised. She had been screaming the whole time, but she didn't remember
because she was going C.R.A.Z.Y. What does that spell? Crazy.
Julyannie had begun to go a little insane after she passed
out the first time, right before the aliens had heard her moan and had
gone out to find her. Then, because her helmet was cracked, she breathed
the air in the atmosphere, and wasn't used to the different air. She went
a little nuts after that, and kept passing out, and not knowing it.
The aliens were used to it. Many times other 'aliens'
(aliens to the intelligent life of Constant July) came from other galaxies,
thinking that this little hidden planet was Neopia. But, usually, none
of the 'aliens' survived on the planet. The aliens were used to strange
reactions of unknown species of people/alien but Julyannie was honestly
very badly hurt.
Julyannie screamed again. The aliens loaded her off her
space sled, and placed her on a foam table gently. It was a strange foam,
and Julyannie would have wanted to get another sample, but she had gone
insane.
The lead alien took out a little vial of medicine, made
by crushing a special root of a flower up. He held it under Julyannie's
nose for a few minutes, and soon Julyannie's brain began to function properly
again.
She closed her eyes, and opened them again. She remembered
everything that happened, and how unknowingly she had kept screaming.
She looked around. She was in an amphitheatre, full of bony grey aliens,
all staring at her. Her space suit had been cut a way, and now the aliens
were puzzling over how to deal with her crushed leg.
The lead alien studied her amethyst necklace. She had
gotten it for her birthday, and didn't want to lose it. She sincerely
hoped that they wouldn't take it away from her.
She tried to say thank you, but the effort was too great.
She remained silent the whole time.
"OOOWWWW!" Well, she WAS silent. The aliens were pounding
her leg back together. Obviously, they'd never seen an intelligent life
who landed on their remote planet with a broken leg.
The aliens used a sharp looking tool and began hacking
away at her leg.
"What are they doing??? They're cutting MY LEG OFF!"
she thought. Julyannie moaned, and tried to push them away, but was too
weak. All their sounds echoed in her head, and she saw stars...then everything
was blurred... ...then blackness.....
She woke up to find herself on her space sled again.
The aliens were pulling her back to her space shuttle! Her leg was tremendously
painful. She looked down and realised she was missing her leg. She wailed,
and wished that she had never become an astronaut.
***
After a while, Julyannie blacked out. The lead alien
decided to give her more herbal medicine to keep her asleep so she didn't
feel anything and would keep sleeping.
When Julyannie woke up, she found the aliens sewing her
leg back on. They had fixed the bone, and had ripped her leg off so they
could repair the bone without hurting her more than it would to cut a
leg off.
When they were done, Julyannie opened the door to her
space shuttle and tried to say thanks. She stumbled through the door and
promptly fainted over the driver's seat.
***
Two days later, Julyannie walked out of the 'Healorator',
which was invented for the Battledome but now was used in space shuttles
in case some one had an injury.
Julyannie's leg was very sore, but Julyannie would live.
She owed her life to the aliens, and fingered her amethyst necklace. She
decided to give a gift to thank the kind, caring aliens who saved her
life.
She got out and saw nothing at all.
She walked to the village, and found that the usual alien
chatter was now silent. She tripped over a grey bony thing. She turned
it over to find that it was a infant alien. She got up and gasped. Julyannie
looked all around her, and found that there were dead aliens ALL OVER
THE WALKWAY, the road, and the aliens were all over the place. She ran
to the amphitheatre, and found THOUSANDS of aliens in the spectator holding,
who were all dead. Five sickly looking aliens were in the spotlight, and
her space suit was on the strange foam table. They had used their sharp
tool and had cut it into four parts. She ran to the lead alien and found
it's nostrils clogged with mucus. It's eyes were inflamed, and it looked
like it had a cold.
Do you know where that cold came from? I do. Think about
the beginning of the story...and how Julyannie had-----uh oh!
They had symbolically 'destroyed' her suit, thinking
that maybe doing that would cure everyone from the cold. They weren't
used to the disease, and had all suffered from it. There were no survivors.
None at all.
Julyannie placed her amethyst necklace on the chest of
the lead alien who had saved her from going insane. She owed an eternal
debt to all of the aliens, and she started by giving the amethyst necklace.
Her eyes filled with tears, and she limped back to her shuttle.
She typed in a report.
