The Usuki Dolls

Totanava pressed her nose against the window in the Toy Shop. She turned to her right, where her best friend Kmalajosokamete who's nose was pressed against the window as well. The two Shoyrus' eyes were focused upon the Magical Hair Usuki Doll.

"I want one," sighed Totanava.

"Same here," Kmalajosokamete said. "But, well the minute we step into that shop-" She glanced at the giant line coming out of the Toy Shop. Tons of pets and their owners were chuffing in trying to get the Usuki Dolls.

Totanava didn't look at the long line; instead, she kept her eyes on the Magical Hair Usuki. Suddenly, a pair of red paws reached out for the doll and grabbed it. Slowly, the doll vanished from sight. A tear formed itself in Totanava's eye. Kmalajosokamete noticed the disappointing look in Totanava's eyes.

"You know... That it wouldn't sit there all day-just for you," she began.

"I know," Totanava replied.

The two Shoyrus' looked at the Toy Shop a last time and then headed off to the Smoothie Shop for some Strawberry Smoothies. The two were too busy gossiping, that the Usuki Dolls faded from their minds.

"And so," Kmalajosokamete said, "Flapwing told Dieamonde to say to me that her-"

"Hi, Dweebs!" a voice called. The two spun around and saw Bottled_Fury, a nasty red Shoyru who showed off way too much, carrying a box. Totanava was the only striped Shoyru in the neighbourhood, and Kmalajosokamete was the only silver Shoyru on the neighbourhood.

Bottled_Fury however was red, and there were many red Shoyrus' This was the only advantage that the two best friends had against their enemy.

"Guess what?" sneered Bottled_Fury. She shook the box she held. The two didn't see anything.

"I got a Usuki from the Toy Shop!" Bottled_Fury boomed. "That makes my collection, up to 5. This time I got a Magical Hair Usuki!"

Totanava went red. She wanted that one very much. Bottled_Fury left to go and reunite with her friend Bloodkiss, another red Shoyru

Totanava looked at Kmalajosokamete. "I want…"

"I know," Kmalajosokamete said quietly. "Come on, let's go."

The two friends went to Totanava's house and told Totanava's older brother Purrpal what had happened.

"Hmmm…" Purrpal said thoughtfully. "I suppose, the only way you will get a Usuki Doll is to wait for them to be less popular."

Totanava looked at her feet. She did want one of course, but not when they were not popular. Purrpal obviously saw this. "Maybe, you could get one from the Marketplace," Purrpal suggested.

The Next morning, Totanava, Kmalajosokamete, Hiyatherebill (Kmalajosokamete's owner) Vicky1189 (Totanava's owner) and Totanava's brothers and sister and Kmalajosokamete's two sisters and brother.

"Mommy," wailed Navadonno (Totanava's sister).

"Can I get a Kacheek Plushie?"

"No," Vicky1189 said sadly. "You just got a new lipstick a few days ago, that wouldn't be fair to the others."

Totanava, Purrpal, Kmalajosokamete and Totanava's little brother Amen_M went to a small shop called "Attic Treasures". There were many different things there, including Usuki Dolls.

"Oooo…" Totanava said. "Look at all the Usuki's."

"Yeah," Purrpal said, but his eyes were looking at the trading cards. Suddenly, a Light Faerie jumped up from behind the counter. "SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED!" boomed a voice.

The four turned heads. But Totanava stopped and looked at the Light Faerie, who was eyeing Totanava curiously.

"Excuse me," Totanava asked the Faerie. "What has happened?"

"You," the Faerie said in a misty voice. "-Have found…the Pot Treasure, of… 5000 Neopoints and a Magical Wishing Coin!"

Totanava looked at the Light Faerie, she didn't believe it.

"Which one of us has won?" I asked.

The Light Faerie Looked right into Totanava's eyes. "Why my dears, surely it is not your owner's!" she squeaked.

"Oh, right!" Purrpal said rather loudly. Totanava stood puzzled. But Purrpal instead started to run to Vicky1189 and Hiyatherebill. They came up to the light Faerie.

"Okay, okay!" the Light Faerie said. "Tell me who owns these pets--that owner gets the prize!"

Vicky1189 and Hiyatherebill looked at each other. "Erm, the silver Shoyru's mine," Hiyatherebill said.

"But the rest, are mine," Vicky1189 said rather uncomfortably

"Just great!" the Light Faerie said angrily. "Look, I'm on a very schedule! "Look," she pointed to Hiyatherebill. "You take the 5000 Neopoints, and you," she pointed to Vicky1189, "get the Magical Wishing Coin."

The two owners smiled and took their prizes and the Light Faerie vanished in a Puff of Yellow Smoke.

"Mom," Navadonno said briskly. "Can I wish for a Kacheek Plushie Now?"

"NO," Vicky1189 said flatly. "I'm saving this." And with that, She pocketed it.

Days went by and Totanava did not ask Vicky1189 for the Wishing Coin. Instead, she kept to her books, toys, friends and chores and just generally made the rest of her summer fun. Most of the time, Totanava would go outside with Purrpal and Invite Kmalajosokamete and her brother Sssatin Over to play in the yard.

"I'm so going to win," Ssatin said. "We shouldn't play baseball anymore, it's not fair."

Totanava caught one of his practice balls and grinned.

"Maybe If Vicky1189 lets me use the Wishing Coin, I'll wish for the talent in sports that you have Sssatin. " Totanava said.

"Oh yes," Kmalajosokamete said, getting the idea.

"Yeah, But why would you want Ssastin's talent? He doesn't have any!" The two girls laughed. But Purrpal frowned.

"Vicky1189 will not give you that Coin," he said.

"WHY NOT?" Totanava said hotly.

"Because that isn't fair to me or the others." Totanava went red.

"Besides Totanava," Sssatin said, "even if you did have that coin, you'd wish for a USUKI!"

Totanava became ever more red. Vicky1189 came home from the Marketplace and yelled. "I'm home! Lunch time!"

They all scrambled to the kitchen table. "I have presents!" Vicky1189 said cheerfully. Totanava didn't like this picture. Vicky1189 never got then presents, except for birthdays. And she couldn't afford any presents.

"What did you get me?" Totanava asked, she didn't know what to say.

"A Magical Hair Usuki!" said Vicky1189.

"How did you afford this?" Totanava blurted out.

"Oh, I took the Wishing Coin and wished that all my pets could have their wish." Vicky1189 smiled.

Totanava ran to Vicky1189 and hugged her, sobbing. "Oh Mommy, thank you that was a very good wish!" Sobbed Totanava.

Navadonno looked happy too (which was very rare!) "Thank you Mommy for the wonderful hat," She said.

Kmalajosokamete grabbed her Usuki Doll and they played all day with their plushies in the yard. They didn't care if Bottled_Fury was watching them with binoculars from across the street, nor did they care when Vicky1189 told them they'd been there for hours. Totanava didn't care that she even had a Usuki. The only thing she cared about was that her owner had the heart to give up her wish for them.

From inside the house Vicky1189 smiled and gulped down a cup for coffee. She closed her eyes and opened them again. She eyed the pets playing in the yard and smiled some more. "Nova," she whispered to herself. "You've done your job."
