In July 2006 I had been searching for pets that were stuck in the pound. I did this quite often to help out a friend with her page of stuck pets. I came across chemical_enchantment and fell in love instantly. My account wasn't old enough to adopt her though. Luckily a great friend was online at the time and held her for me. Two months later my account had aged. I was then able to adopt chemical onto my account.

Chem seeks to understand and control with knowledge. She has an intellectual curiosity that covers a wide range of subjects. Never try to present her with facts because she already has an unlimited supply which she will gladly recite in rapid succession. She becomes bored and restless when surrounded by people or circumstances in which she have no interest. At such times, she find ways to disappear physically or mentally. She would rather learn things on her own through travel and experience than endure structured classroom environments and routine work assignments. However, given opportunities to broaden her knowledge and gain experience in the world on her own, she becomes excellent teachers and administrators in the very type of educational system she once found so restricting.

Chem readily adapts to change. One of her greatest facilities for adapting to change is making home wherever she happens to be. She is usually quite talkative and, as a rule, does not hesitate to give her honest opinions, a gesture which seems tactless at times though it is rarely her intention to be cruel. She has a ready wit and appreciates the humor even in grim situations.

She reacts physically to everything she experiences in life. Before she assesses the practicality or worth of what she is doing, before she sorts out her true emotions, and before she takes time to reason things out intellectually, she has a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later. Chem is communication-oriented and is forever running around with energy and enthusiasm. She is independent and hard to pin down for long. In one way or another she seeks to maintain some aspect of personal independence.

As a rule, Chem has a generous nature and a friendly, optimistic personality. She is interested in knowing everyone and in going everywhere. For her, life is something to be enjoyed every day. Addicted to all the good things in life, she knows how to get maximum enjoyment from them. Unfortunately too much of a good thing can be ruinous, and prudence is a trait that Chem has not acquired. The philosophy that "more is better" describes her tendency for overdoing, a tendency that can result in some negative situations. Being overly spiritual or too philosophical, for example, she gets too far out of touch with the real world. Making overblown efforts to be prudent in one area, she can still manage to bankrupt herselves by overindulging in other areas. Her attempt to be prudent can get so far out of line, that she turns into a miser.
