Who would've guessed that the Duke came from a family dedicated to thievery? That he was heir to a long line of crafty Usuls skilled in the art of stealing. He used to be part of these acts, and was quite good at it, too; as he grew older, though, Ven started to realize how what he and his family did effected others.

Here he was living in quite a comfortable state while there were people out there who were constantly struck down by poverty. Hence, he began his long journey to climb up and out of the hole he had once considered a kingdom. Away from the terrible dark alleys of Krawk Island in which he plotted with his peers and into the sun-filled courts of the Meridell castle he went, starting out as a lowly squire.

Each day he worked harder to bring goodness to those around him and to stop the evil he used to support. Daylight brought reports of suspicious activity within the town; at night he pursued those responsible and hauled them off to the dungeons. Due to his widespread deeds, he was promoted to Duke by King Skarrl. Life is good for Ven, and he makes sure that it improves for others.

No one knows of his dark past though - what would become of his heroic reputation if it were revealed?
