Vackran is what we in Belgium call "een pechvogel". Literally: "a misfortune bird", someone who's always unlucky. Vackran always means well and always tries to help, but somehow everything he tries ends up in disaster. Like when he filled in for Aleoza to go babysitting (the kids screamed and threw things at him because of the way he looks), or the time he tried to help out Khelina by sorting her battlestuff (he arranged it the wrong way and had to make a run for it because Khelina swore she'd "let loose Exarsia's meepit collection in the hope they'd nibble his toes off" if she managed to catch him). You get the idea. All this misfortune has caused him to get a somewhat gloomy character. His eyes are most of the time a tad sarcastic, as if he's saying "great, of course this happens to me again…". Poor guy.
