Raised on the barren dunes of the Lost Desert, Leto lived a life of sustenance and survival. He was trained to live on a lifeless wasteland, to pull water from the air, and to read the most subtle signs of the wind and sand.

He now resides in the Palace of Sahkmet, maintaining a powerless political title and appeasing a restless populous as the figurehead of an honest outsider. Since he has no real duties in the palace, Leto spends most of his time alone on the open dunes, reconnecting with the desert and relishing the simple truth of a harsh environment.
