And do you, my friend,
... know what wings are for?
For those who can see - what is the sight?
For those who can't, is it freedom?
A way to escape the binds that hold you down?
I don't know the answer anymore.
But I do know this:
Seeing is a fragile freedom - ephemeral and everchanging.
And what winged ones fear most are cages.
So tell me - when the key's thrown away,
and those feathers pulled back tight,
where is your freedom now?
Kaguya, The Seer
Born blind, Kaguya knew she was special from a young age. Special - but not in a good way. Looked down upon by the elite family she was born into, Kaguya was resentful. What had she done wrong?
Determined to find answers, Kaguya set off on her own to find the true meaning of her existence. It was then she felt herself drawn into the Spirit Woods - a long-spoken about place deep within the Frelia. Sightless, she wandered lost for days in the misty, lonely woods, until she finally stumbled upon a clearing.
Reaching out a trembling hand, the dragon princess touched with her fingertips the stone archway hidden deep in the forest.
Spirits rushed around her, enveloping her, welcoming
her. Never had she been welcomed before. Other people had always taken a look at her blindfolded eyes and turned away. She could sense that.
But not these spirits. They didn't turn her away. They offered her a sanctuary, deep within the forest of mist, close to the border between this world and the next - and awakened within her the power she had always been born with.
She didn't need to see with ordinary sight.
Here, close to the spirit world, she could see everything.
