Josephene is fifteen, the reincarnation of a destroyed forest nymph. She lives among tribes of other reborn nymphs, enduring battles and territorial fights daily. She is a strong willed, unsympathetic girl.
The morning air was chilly, and left lingering a crisp scent of dew. Sunlight trickled down from the trees overhead, pale and golden. The wet grass felt cold beneath my feet, and I let loose a deep sigh.
´Alright girls, gather!´ My voice seemed lost to the expanse of the forest, but immediately a dozen set of eyes directed themselves at my face. I let my mouth go limp and hang slightly open, a feeling of staleness washing over me. Another day, same as all the others. The eyes were fixated, and with a speed achieved only through a mix of fear and respect, they formed a line. A row of eyes staring at me. I shuddered. ´One lap, make it quick. We have plenty to do today´. The girls jogged off in formation, and I massaged my temples in round circles with my palms. I did not have the fortitude to do anything productive today.
