the world was never enough for avallor. their respect and fear sated him for a while, but just like everything else, it grew to be too little. so he began to trace the edges of his world, pressing against the shaky walls that he had helped them build- forcing them tighter until cracks grew. and he would peer through them and breathe the whisps of cold night air that called to him from the other side.
slowly, he ran farther, finding holes, slipping through. and finally, as he leapt into the darkness- as it enveloped him and stole him away- not a single one of them realized that their walls had crumbled.
