Welcome. I am Astread, Goddess of the Sea. It is my duty to protect all those that wish to travel across the wide and dangerous Sea, and it is something that I do not take lightly. The Sea is powerful, and ancient, and is to be respected. There are times when not even I can control it.

I was born to take on this title and this role. Every five hundred years, a new Goddess is born, and the old Goddess is allowed to finally go to the Sea, and be at peace. Aigean, my tiny companion, is as old as the Sea itself, and has accompanied each Goddess, giving her strength, and most importantly, friendship. He is extremely wise and strong, and is not to be looked down upon.

I was trained and taught for ten years by the old Goddess. I discovered the Magic that flowed in my blood, and learned how to wield and control it. This Magic is impressive, and primal, and has been passed down from Goddess to Goddess for thousands of years. It is fundamental to protecting not only the travellers, but also the Sea itself.

Magic is intimidating though, and having this great knowledge and sometimes overwhelming power at my fingertips both terrifies and astounds me. The old Goddess trained me well though, and when she departed for the Sea, I knew I was ready. I do miss the old Goddess. Living for five hundred years, and seeing those you love pass on is one of the hardest parts of this task. Thankfully, my adopted family has helped ease the sadness and loneliness that can accompany this duty. I live in the Haunted Woods with Luna, and her large, loving family.

Every month, I make the journey to the Sea, to make the appropriate offerings, and to recharge my Magic. But those weeks I spend in the Haunted Woods between offerings are filled with laughter and light, and give me strength and happiness I never knew I could have.

I must go now... the Sea is calling to me. Just know that if you ever find yourself on the Sea, and danger is all around you, all you need do is call my name, and no harm shall come to you.
