At the young age of 7, Alzyia's first family vacation ever ended in disaster. While visiting Terror Mountain, a freak snowstorm blew her out of the Ski Lift, which she was taking to the top of the mountain. Taelia, the Snow Faerie, rescued her but was unable to find her brother or her parents. Desperate to find them, Allie ventured back out into the snowstorm only to be overcome by the weather.

Taelia rescued her again, but the snow and low temperatures had wreaked such havoc on Allie's body that Taelia was forced to perform a complicated spell to save her. Now Alzyia has been imbued with Taelia's own magic, and is unable to leave the cool temperatures.

She also discovered the ability to commune with the dead as a medium. She often speaks to the spirits of her parents and brother, who were the first she ever spoke to. She has lived on Terror Mountain for 16 years and is now quite adept at using the magic that the Snow Faerie bestowed upon her.
