A tall lady, with a warrior's grace glided past my pen then stopped. I noticed the twin blades strapped to her back. My interest was piqued as I only knew one lady warrior that fitted this description. I held my breath waiting and then slowly released it. I was sure I was not what she was looking for. So I curled back up and prepared for another boring day in the Pound.
I felt a breeze of air over me so I jumped ready to defend myself from what ever had entered my pen. To my amazement she stood there. Violet eyes meeting mine with just a hint of challenge in them. "Well what are you waiting for. I am sure you have better things to do than waste your days around here." I couldn't believe it, she wanted me. "Are you with me or do you want to stay here. I am not sure what the attraction would be if you choose here" She stepped back taking in my pitiful surroundings in a glance.
I could see the smile dancing around her lips and her hand was resting lightly on the door, the other on her sword at her hip. Could I take a risk again, should I. I again looked deep into her violet eyes . They spoke of honesty and trust with just the right touch of steel. Before she could rescind the offer I scrambled up and reached out to her and realized that I would follow her to the ends of the earth. In another place and time so removed from this, she said that if I was ever in need of her she would find me.
