Quote of the Week

The Aisha turned down a new aisle. Did Faerieland have a magical Lost and Found she'd never known about? That would explain the lack of price tags, absent shopkeeper, and the variety of objects on the shelves, but as far as the Aisha knew, she hadn't lost anything recently--why would it appear to her, today?

Ultimate Guide to Neopia's Summer Drinks

The hottest days of Neopian summer is fast approaching once again. Whether you are basking under the brighter-than-ever sunshine with warm sands between your toes on the beaches of Mystery Island, or rummaging through the vast and mysterious dunes of Lost Desert in search of ancient treasures, or simply hopping from one shop to another in the bustling streets of Neopia Central in pursuit of the perfect summer outfit, one thing remains universally true: hydration is everything. Here is a one-stop guide for Neopia’s best refreshing drinks to enjoy and beat the summer heat. Fresh Fruit Smoothie First on the list is everyone’s favourite, fresh fruit smoothies! Newly picked fresh fruits, blended with cubes of ice, these drinks are both refreshing and surprisingly satiating. Their appeal lies not only in their cooling properties but also in their incredible versatility. They’re greatly customizable with the wide choices of tropical flavours, whether you prefer citrus blends from oranges or floral tones of berries, you’ll surely find the perfect one for you. With over 100 choices around Neopia, the Kiwi-Mango Smoothie makes it on our list. This layered creation with a bottom half of smooth, golden mango base topped with freshly sliced kiwi, you’ll enjoy the best of worlds of sweetness and tanginess blended into one!

Celebrating Less Popular Illusen Items

No matter what time of year it is, it's always time to celebrate one of Neopia’s most popular and well-known Faeries of all: the magnificent and humble Illusen. When celebrating Illusen, the best ways to do so are by appreciating nature, acting charitably toward a friend or neighbour, maybe putting on a little extra green, and definitely taking a moment to appreciate all things Illusen! Many Neopians will honour Illusen through donning popular wearables inspired by her earthy style or eating a classic Illusens Creme Cookie, but there are less popular Illusen items out there that deserve acknowledgement, recognition, and maybe a quick laugh or two (all in good fun, of course!). Please enjoy this look at a few less popular Illusen items! Illusens Really Sharp Stick When you think of Illusen and weapons, what comes to mind? Many would be quick to say Illusens Staff, Illusens Living Sword, or Illusens Blade, but there is another, less-known option out there: Illusens Really Sharp Stick. While this item may not look as flashy as the others, it speaks to the resourcefulness and creativity of Illusen. Beautifully crafted weapons will always have their place, but being able to craft them from branches that have fallen from trees in Illusen’s own glade speaks to Illusen’s connection to the earth and the importance of using natural, local materials.

Your Guide to an Air Faerie Approved Self-Care Day

Those of us who have been lucky enough to be granted a quest from an Air Faerie know they love to send our Neopets after many products that can be found in the Grooming Parlour. These whimsical daydreamers value their beauty sleep and certainly adore maintaining their image, but they have their sights set on something bigger than just soap and eyeshadow. Rest and relaxation are top priorities for these floating faeries. So, who better to ask to craft the perfect self-care day for a weary Pet? We asked the Air Faeries of Neopia to guide us through a day of rest that’s sure to be heavenly for both you and your Neopet.

"In Her Own Time and Colour" by thejulyninth
It was a beautiful day in Neopia Central. Blue skies, green grass, the blinding white of resident smiles. This was the region at its best, but it had been so long since the sun shone down on it. The Grey Curse had kept the sun away for almost two years, and the dreariness had taken its toll. It was no wonder that citizens now lined the streets, in their best and brightest, in celebration. Well, most of them. Inside her cosy Neohome on the corner of town, Moon the Blue Acara was groaning into her pillow. She wasn’t unhappy that the colour was back. Far from it, in fact. But the sensory overload? Well, that was hurting Moon’s head. She’d become accustomed to the muted grey. Her eyes, too, adapted to the gloom. This morning, when she pulled back her curtains, the sun hit her pupils like a direct blast from the Lab Ray. “Ow,” Moon muttered, squinting as she rummaged around her room. “Too bright. Way too bright.” Clothes landed in heaps as she dug around in her drawers with one paw and used the other as a much-needed shade from the light. Finally, she felt what she was looking for – the cool plastic of her oversized Acara Rebel Sunglasses. It’d been so long since she’d needed them, she was relieved they hadn’t found their own way to the Money Tree. Moon slipped them on and opened her eyes. Ahhhhhhhh. The world instantly dimmed into a manageable, stylish amber. Thank you, tinted lenses. “Perfect,” Moon sighed. “Neopia is back and so am I – it’s time to see the world.”

"The White Weewoo and the Black Gathow" by garibaldo__
On a large and beautiful farm, there was a huge herd of Babaa Petpets. The entire area was surrounded by a vast orchard filled with fruit trees. From the entrance of the farm all the way to the great gate, there was a row of coconut trees on both sides, overflowing with ripe coconuts. One day, the cook went to pick spherical strawberries to make a delicious pie, the strawberry mince pie. It was the favourite pie of everyone who lived there. She carried a little basket with her and returned with it full of ripe, bright red spherical strawberries. While preparing the tasty strawberry mince pie, she listened to the songs of the birds delighting themselves with the coconuts and the fruits of that wonderful place. There was a White Weewoo that perched on her window every single day. He was very used to her and did not mind being fed directly from her hand. He was a beautiful bird! The magic of his song brought her peace and joy every day. It was sweet and gentle, like the soft chime of a waterfall flowing through the silence of nature, creating a spectacular symphony that soothed the heart and uplifted the soul. The song of the Weewoo made her feel as though she could travel across the entire valley without ever leaving her place. In that house, there also lived a Petpet, the black Gathow, a very clever little cat who loved chasing the Babaas around, making them run desperately all over the farm. It was his favourite pastime: scaring the lovely Babaas, until one day...

"A Post-Fyora Faerieland" by the_academy_awards
The grey curse has finally lifted, and much of Neopia has reawakened in a wash of colour. There’s one land that will not recover so easily, having been bruised by dark feelings of various types: Faerieland. Fyora’s abdication and the subsequent dissolving of the Faerie Monarchy have rattled a recovering Neopia, none more so than the citizens of Faerieland itself. Questions are swirling; What is this Council? Who will be on it? When will things go back to normal? Where is Fyora now? I, Gorel Goldenrod, headed to the beleaguered region to get some on-the-ground insight, starting with the governance changes. “I’m not focused on who sits on what Council,” A Koi, Gissog, stops sweeping and wipes his brow. His home, a small island dotted by closely-entwined trees within a lake of The Forest of Fay, was badly damaged by the void attack, though you wouldn’t know it from the outside. “The priority should be repairing our homes first, it’s what I would do. I can kip well enough under the water, but a meerca? They’re not doing that.” I ask if he’s seen Faeries – of any type – help folks like him repair the damage. “A few,” He shrugs. “Mostly Earth Faeries. They can’t help but give quests, but they know we’re stressed. One asked me for ‘That stick. That one. In particular,’ Just a regular stick three feet away. When I gave it to her, she grew my trees and wound them together, then blessed them with a defence spell.” After that, I walk the paths of The Forest of Fay, talking with...
