Smooch: The Top 5 Valentine Petpets!

      Valentine’s Day is upon us and it’s no secret that every Neopian and every Neopet is excited for the possibility of the release of some new Valentine Petpets! Wait… What’s that? You didn’t even know that Valentine Petpets existed? Well… maybe that’s because there are currently only 11 different varieties of Valentine Petpets in Neopia (before Valentine’s Day 2018). With that said, some of the Valentine Petpets that already exist are quite remarkable – and adorable! And they’re precisely what we’re here to discuss. Here are (in my opinion) the Top 5 Valentine Petpets in no particular order *wink*.

      1 – The Valentine Cirrus

      Although it was tragically abandoned by its brothers as a child, the Cirrus is an endearing Petpet that takes the shape of a cloud. The Valentine Cirrus, suprisingly, deviates from the form of a cloud and takes the form of a cute plushie with strategically placed stitching (nice eyebrows, V-Day Cirrus!). The generic Cirrus is a rather common Petpet that won’t cost you too many Neopoints in another Neopian’s shop, nor at the Faerieland Petpets Shop. So, if you’re looking for an adorable pink, plush cloud that rains hearts for a Petpet, the Cirrus perfect for you!

      2 – The Valentine Lyins

      For bug enthusiasts, the generic Lyins is a great Petpet; and the Valentine Lyin is no exception! This bejeweled Petpet is topped with three hearts on its back and is adorned with one of the most fabulous accessories in all of Neopia – a beautiful red, heart-shaped jewel on its forehead. Can you imagine anything more glamorous for Valentine’s Day? If you’re looking for a reasonably priced Valentine Petpet, the generic version of the Lyins is a great avenue to travel down, as it will only cost a Neopian a couple thousand Neopoints.

      Oh, and one more thing: It would be wise to keep an eye on this little one, as the Lyin is known to enjoy burrowing under the Lost Desert sand when looking for some tasty treats (perhaps some V-Day chocolates)!

      3 – The Valentine Slorg

      What good is a list of Petpets if it doesn’t include at least one Slorg? Well, it’s probably a cleaner list… This Valentine Slorg I’m currently fostering has left slime trails all over my writing materials! Ugh! Oh well. This little fellow has a knack for perpetually appearing in a great mood by always wearing the biggest smile in Neopia on its face! The Valentine Slorg is especially loving as it is embellished with hearts all over its slimy body. Its exterior as well as its googly eyes makes for the perfect Petpet for any Neopet that wants an attentive and an attractive companion. However, as I mentioned earlier, be sure to have cleaning materials on hand, as they’re very cute but also quite slimy. There is one perk to this, though: if you ever seem to lose track of your Valentine Slorg, just follow the slime trail!

      4 – The Valentine Noil

      The Valentine Noil is the go-to solution for those Neopets that would love a furry friend. With a beautiful red mane and a matching set of heart ears and a heart nose, the Valentine Noil is an adorable Petpet for every day of the year and especially on a Neopian Valentine’s Day! Noils are known for being a loyal friend to all Neopets, as they live to please and will follow your Neopet anywhere they go. And something tells me that the Valentine Noil is especially loving!

      The generic Noil can be found at The Neopian Petpet Shop in Neopia Central and is a rather affordable Petpet for those Neopians on a budget.

      5 – The Valentine Rock

      I said this list was in no particular order, but I didn’t say that I didn’t have a favorite! The Valentine Rock is my favorite Valentine Petpet so far. TNT never ceases to blow us away with their creative ideas for the Rock Petpet. From the Disco Rock (a disco ball) to the Halloween Rock (a tombstone), TNT seems to have kept up their tradition of transforming the likeness of the Rock Petpet into something completely unexpected. The Valentine Rock resembles a beautiful box of chocolate that’s so detailed and so creative that we almost forget it’s a Petpet! The Rock Petpet, however, will cost any user a pretty Neopoint – around 1 and a half million Neopoints to be specific!

      It behooves me to mention that the Rock Petpet isn’t really known for its personality. It is just a rock (or in this case, a box of chocolates), after all!

This magical, humming Neopian item will cost you around 2 million Neopoints on the Trading Post if you’re interested in purchasing one. For some, this is a completely unreasonable amount of Neopoints to spend on a Petpet; for others, obtaining a Valentine Petpet for one of their Neopets a vital need of their existence here on Neopia (as is the case for myself!). Finally, whether or not you decide you want a Valentine Petpet, it is very comforting to know that there are Petpets in Neopia that live to bring your Neopets love and kindness.
