An Interview with a Pteri and his Owner

This interview was agreed to be held via Neomail by Shade and her beloved Pteri, and was held in a private room so no one can interrupt during the process. This is also a Pteri Day special!

I asked these two about their top favorite Pteri items, and also about the life as a Pteri, and here's what they had to say.

1. Hello, you two. Sit down at the table here and let's get started. I'll start with you, Shade. What are your top 5 Pteri items?

Shade: Personally, I've always been partial to the Rainbow Pteri Feather. I mean, sure, you see Rainbow Pteris around, but how often do you find their feathers? It's quite a rare treasure! My second favourite is the Faerie Pteri Plushie. Just look at its grumpy face, it's so cute! The Pteri of Doom Stained Glass Window is a great addition to your Neohome, so I highly recommend buying one of those as well! If you're a fan of Keyquest, the Red Pteri Keyquest Token is a MUST have! Plus, if you buy it, you get a cute plushie too! My last favourite item would have to be the Pteri Birthday Card. If I received one of those every year for my birthday, I'd be the happiest girl around!

2. I see! I think I've heard about dontknow being zapped by Boochi a few times... I'm surprised that the Faerie Pteri Morphing Potion isn't on your list, haha! Anyway, how do you feel about that evil baby Bruce, dontknow?

Dontknow: Ugh, that little brat. I'm not one to hold a grudge, but that Bruce really gets on my nerves. He zapped me twice within six months! Of course, mom had to save up to repaint me both times, which didn't really please her neither. I guess my saving grace is that he's really easy to beat in the Battledome *nods*

3. Ouch, that really bites...That brings us up to this question: How does it feel to be Shade's Battledome pet? Personally, I'd expect such a pretty bird to be graceful and singing, not throwing punches! Dontknow: Deceiving, isn't it? Mom's had me for a long time, and I've just accumulated stats over the years from Faerie Quests, dailies and free training on Pteri day. So when she really started to enjoy the Battledome, it was only natural to continue my training and make me the battle pet. Besides, I don't mind the occasional battle, they're fun!

Shade: I have to say, it's great! There are a ton of bigger and scarier enemies around, but dontknow handles them really well! And, of course, being a Faerie Pteri, he looks quite graceful while he beats them up too *chuckles*. In all seriousness though, I couldn't be prouder of him!

4. Aww, now if that isn't Battledome love, I don't know what is! Now, we might already know how dontknow lives with you, Shade, but how does he cope with his family? I see you have a ton more pets along with him, haha! How does he get along with them all?

Shade: Surprisingly well, for the variety of pets I have around here *giggles*. Dontknow's pretty laid-back, and despite being my Battledome pet, he doesn't like to start feuds amongst the family. I know he's a little wary of Tacka, Zero and Yuan, but he tries to remain friendly enough. Recently, he's taken a bit of a liking to Sique, though the latter doesn't always return the sentiment.

5. Ahh, that's good. I think most of my guys have fights more than needed...*hears crashing and yelling out of the room* Hold on a minute...*opens door* HEY GUYS, CUT THAT OUT! *noise dies down; I close the door* There, that's better. Anyway, now for the last question: If you guys were to switch places for some unknown reason, Shade be the Neopet and dontknow the owner, what would you do?

Dontknow: Hmm... interesting question. If I were the owner, I'd definitely get into Mom's bank account and use all her money to buy books I haven't read yet. I do enjoy reading *grins*

Me: Ahem. I have a PIN on that, thank you very much. And you certainly aren't getting the code! If I were a Neopet, well... I think I'd enjoy the company of a Petpet. They seem like good companions, don't they? And customization sounds really fun too!

Shade: Ohh a Faerie Pteri has a devilish side after all! *chuckles* Well, that just about clears it! Anything else you'd like to say to our fellow readers before we leave?

Dontknow: *nervous laugh* Erm... you didn't hear that from me, eheh. I'd just like to take a moment to endorse the Pound. Sure, you don't always find the best pets there, but I can assure you that they'll be the loyalest of friends with you! If it weren't for the kind people stopping by the Pound to adopt a pet, well... I wouldn't be where I am right now. Thank you.
