Quote of the Week
The academy buzzed with a glow of magic under the soft, early-autumn sun. Vines crawled up the brick and mortar of the building and there was a hum in the air to accompany the excitement of the semester just beginning.

Camping 101 - The Best and Worst Locations in Neopia
Summertime proves to be a popular time for camping. The warm nights and abundant outdoor activities will leave your Pet with endless opportunities to commune with nature. As outdoor enthusiasts, we want to encourage Neopians to spend more time outdoors and have been compiling a list of the best areas to camp, what areas to avoid, and what experience is right for me and my Pet. Lamachus is here to answer. After years of traveling both across Neopia and intergalactic space, he believes he has the credentials to accurately judge the most suitable spots. 1. Neopia Central – Of course, Neopia Central has some of the best camping spots. You can rest assured you will have ample access to facilities while enjoying the great outdoors. The downsides? If you enjoy star gazing, you may experience light pollution due to the proximity to the city. The location can often be crowded as well. Some people enjoy the company of strangers. Others would prefer something a bit more exclusive. You can come to your own conclusion about whether Neopia Central is the ideal camping location for you. 2. Roo Island – Could you imagine a happier place than Roo Island? The residents are welcoming and there is plenty of entertainment. Your Neopets can find plenty to do in such a lovely place. The reported sights of Count Von Roo can be disturbing, but even still, Lamachus can’t help but recommend staying here. He had a fantastic time on his trip here. 3. Kiko Lake – If you like swimming, Kiko Lake might be the choice for you. The glass bottom boat tours and delicious treats are sure to impress your Neopet. Lamachus found the location decent, but he did not care for being coerced into donating to Kiko Lake’s Altador Cup...

 | A Guide to Neopian Stargazing
Those who have visited Finneus, the wise Lenny who was crucial in solving the puzzle of Altador’s missing past after its thousand-year slumber, know the Neopian heavens well. In piecing parts of the mystery together, who among us didn’t learn to love the stars while picking out the dozen constellations — the Sleeper, the Dancer, the Gladiator — that wove their stories above? For those who haven’t given up gazing since, this article is for you. Whether you’ve traveled to Neopia’s moon just to get that much closer to the stars, or simply prefer to take in the sights with your feet firmly on solid ground, there’s plenty of stargazing to be had in Neopia, and there’s no better time than now to turn your eyes to the skies.
In this guide, we’ll discuss which sites are better for Neopian stargazing than others so you can be sure that when you set out, you’re getting the best of the best. If you want to stargaze, there are definitely some places in Neopia that will give you a better view than others. I’ve listed every land below, along with my rating of the starry views they can provide to the avid gazer.

"Rane The Royal Gardener" by rkbear “Oh my, Prince Rillien, he is just gorgeous,” Rane gushed, accepting the small creature. “You are just the cutest little thing aren’t you. Did you say he was from Neovia, your highness?” Rillien cheeks turned pink as the Pink Xweetok addressed him as your highness.
He always felt kind of strange when someone called him that outside of royal functions. Rane was his friend, almost none of his friends called him “your highness”. Some of them had taken a little while to feel comfortable dropping the formalities in casual settings, but Rane couldn’t be persuaded. No matter how he persisted she would always respond, “When you are king then you can outlaw it if you like, your highness.”
“Yes, he’s a Talpidat,” He replied, trying to ignore the heat he felt in his cheeks. He must look as if he were smuggling tomatoes in his mouth. The red would stand out brilliantly against his stark white fur. Rane to her credit, pretended not to notice. She was quite fond of the young prince. “They were recently discovered. Scarlet said they were quite happy to be rid of them. She said they had a penchant for Neggs.”

"The Newest Bestseller" by thorindog It was a beautiful day, how couldn't it be after yesterday's summer rain had brought much needed moisture to her glade. Everything was growing, just like it should, and the grasses, brushes and trees wore a healthy green. As long as Illusen was deep within the forest, surrounded by living nature, she could nearly imagine a Neopia without the horrible greying. But only nearly. So the earth faerie simply did her best to distract herself, to enjoy the little things and to create as much peace for her soul as possible. One of her favorite clearings had been her destination for the morning, with countless tiny flowers speckling the fresh looking grass, the melodic sounds of wild avian Petpets audible and dense bushes surrounding it, Illusen felt at peace. And the morning would have passed by peacefully if not for the sudden appearance of two Gruslens on the path leading through the forest to this clearing. Yipping excitedly, the Petpets raced past her, towards an old oak tree on the edge of the clearing. Not even giving her a glance, the pair was focused on something else. On a thick branch...

"The Lost Notebook" by dark_julian3788 March 12, Year 3 We are still at sea. No land in sight yet, but strangely, there are birds flying above us in circles, almost as if watching. We've lost the last three baskets of food because of the huge waves crashing over the deck. Things are getting critical. The crew is growing weak and anxious. March 13, Year 3 Now we see not only birds, but also branches and leaves floating beside us in the water. Strange thing is, there is still no land anywhere. This makes no sense. Where are these things coming from? March 14, Year 3 The wind has started to blow very strong, howling like voices in the night. It feels like some kind of magic is stirring in the air. The crew is hungry and afraid. Some of them have started whispering to each other when they think I cannot hear. I don’t think I can calm them down for much longer. March 15, Year 3 Land is in sight at last. I hope it’s an island with people living there, or at least some shelter. The crew is feeling more hopeful now. Their faces look brighter. March 16, Year 3 We arrived at the island. There is something strange here. The air smells sweet, almost...

The Magical Triumvirate A ripple travelled through the lair, it was soft at first, like the breath of an ancient spell being disturbed. The chamber was lit by flickering green flames, as the air stirred with power each of the candles danced.
