The Absorption of Powers: Part Three

The busy streets were filled with lights and music. NeoPets thanking their owners for the new clothing they have received, and hopeful owners trying out their luck at the wishing well. Shari opened the door of the magic shop, and Kauvara stood in front of Shari and Jake, happily smiling at the guests buying Transmogrification Potions, and healing potions as well.

Someone rushed in by the door and pushed the silver Shoyru to the ground. "Get away, everyone! Get away!" Jake helped Shari up and looked at the NeoPet shouting. It was a Grundo. The first thing that appeared in everyone's minds was, "Oh, another slave of doc Sloth." The Grundo was blue-coloured, and his red eyes shone brightly at Kauvara.

"Now, where did ya put the portal machine? Own up." Kauvara smirked and said, "Oh, so you think I'm a magic shop owner for nothing huh? Let me tell you! I've powers stronger than you think!" With that Kauvara started throwing magical potions at the Grundo. It was like a circus zoo, with Kauvara as the zookeeper. The Grundo changed into a Cybunny, "Arrgh!" he screamed, than was changed into a Korbat. "I've wings," he laughed, and flew into the storeroom of the magic shop.

"Stop!" screamed the enraged NeoPet, and ran after him. Shari and Jake joined the chase, and ran into the brightly lit storeroom. There, in the center of all the stocks of magical paintbrushes, and potions, was a rainbow-coloured machine! Kauvara threw another potion at him, and changed him back to a Grundo. "I shall destroy the machine, once and for all, for good!" the blue Grundo shouted out loud. No one knew what he was doing.

Without the portal machine, Shari could never ever save her owner, Silver. Looking at the Grundo taking a metal pole ready to smash the machine, she leaped towards the Grundo, attacking his head. Jake went forth to help, and all three suddenly felt themselves floating? They seemed to be carried into an orange wave that was carrying them forward, to where they did not know. Unknown to them, clever Kauvara had actually used the remote control of the machine, and with a press of a button, had transported them away! "That solves my problem," said Kauvara, and locked the storeroom-tightly.

The three landed onto red, hot ground, and looking around, Shari cried out happily. "The volcano! We're in Tyrannia!" Jake nodded solemnly, and walked forward. "Where are you going?" Shari asked.

Jake smiled- the first time, "I've an instinct. Your owner is here." The blue Grundo got up, dusted himself and sighed, "Oh! Shoot! I'm in a volcano." Seeing the two NeoPets, Shari the silver Shoyru, and Jake the Lupe walk away, the blue Grundo ran after them, not wanting to be left alone in this desert-like place. "Wait up!" the Grundo ran ahead of them, and stopped them. He stretched out his paw, and said, "I'm Starlingrad. Pronounce it as star-link-grad." Shari smiled and continued walking, but Starlingrad stopped them. "Don't have a bad impression of me, just 'cos of what happened at the magic shop!"

Shari paused, than said, "Why did you want to destroy the portal machine?" Starlingrad gave an 'I'm-pathetic' look and said, "Look, you all think I'm this retarded kinda slave of that doctor. What's his name? Oh!" he clapped, "Doctor Sloth, right? Well, I'm not. And I hate him. He has disgraced my race! We are his slaves, but we're forced to be! One day, you just wait, one fine day; we'll all be free of that mad monster! The reason I wanted to destroy that machine was because I wanted to destroy everything that he made. Everything that was created by his evil hands."

Starlingrad sighed and said, "Did ya go to the space station?" Both Jake and Shari shook their heads. Starlingrad sighed once more and said, "Look, ask your owner to adopt a Grundo will ya? That is the only way we can be not enslaved. That caretaker there, she calls us slimy creatures! And…"

At the last day, they sighted a ship, black from head to toe. Shari ran forward and shouted, "Silver is here! I can sense it!" Jake smiled slyly, and ran faster than Shari towards it. They leaped from the ground to the ship; landing painfully, but quickly got up and looked around. Shari sighted Silver and gasped. She would save her. She took a second look, but the enemy was not lava ghoul? It was… the Dark Faerie!

"Jake! Look!" Shari whispered, "Myra, she got it all wrong! It was the Dark Faerie holing Silver captured and not…"

Suddenly Jake held her neck tight, to the extend of strangling her, "I know." He said happily, "I always knew."

"Why…." Shari cried, as she was brought towards the Dark Faerie, and Natas. Starlingrad quickly made himself invisible. That was his power. His power that nobody but himself knew- the ability to be invisible. He held his breath, and tried to run away from the ship.
