Good afternoon citizens of Neopia, this is Zelifra Zafara,
your weekly news reporter. Many of us Neopians are regular customers at
The Neopian Magic Shop, whether it's to buy faeries or healing potions
or morphing potions. But we usually tend to forget the person who makes
it all possible, our beloved and determined shopkeeper Kauvara. Today,
we'll find out exactly what it takes to run a magic shop and a few of
Kauvara's opinions on some issues...
Well here we are, the Magic Shop and boy, is it crowded!
It looks like everyone is waiting for the next stock of faeries, potions,
and other magical items to come in. Anyway, we'll take the back way in
to see Kauvara.
There she is, behind that brewing cauldron making a paste
out of some leaves.
Kauvara: Oh, hello there, you can sit on that stool over
there, watch out for the bottles of faeries!
Zelifra: Hello Kauvara, it's nice to meet you. Now then,
you run the magic shop for all the Neopians. Right out that window you
can see that there are hundreds of pets waiting for the next restock.
Is it always so busy around here?
Kauvara: Yes, definitely. The faeries and some of the
potions are extremely popular. They sell out in a few seconds! You should
see this place on Half Price Day, the whole shop is filled and there are
more pets standing outside of the shop.
Zelifra: I just saw a restock a few minutes ago. The
faeries were the first thing to go and I saw many disappointed pets leave.
Can't you put out more faeries at a time so that everyone can have one?
Kauvara: I wish I could, I really do but faeries are
difficult to obtain and so there is a limited amount for each day. We
try to get as many as we can.
Zelifra: Aside from the faeries there are morphing potions
of all kinds Scorchio, Peophin, Lupe, Kacheek, and so many more. How is
it possible to turn a Grundo into a Meerca or a Skeith into an Aisha with
this small amount of liquid?
Kauvara: Well I can't tell you the family secrets but
I can say there are long lists of ingredients for each and every one.
See all those scrolls and books up there? Those are potion recipes for
anything you could possibly imagine!
Zelifra: You must be pretty busy all the time, can you
give us an idea of what one of your average days are like?
Kauvara: I start the day a bit before sunrise and I'll
start getting all the stock for the day ready. Then, I'll look at my list
of items in demand for tomorrow and the ingredients I need for them. I
have most ingredients already but there are fresh ones that need to be
picked right before you make those potion, like arbiter berries. For the
rest of the day I'll mix potions and that sort of thing. After I close
the shop for the night, I like to continue on with my studies so I can
be a great magician someday!
Zelifra: Wow, there are a lot of things to do in order
to run the shop. How do you possibly do it?
Kauvara: Don't get the impression that I do it all alone.
This is a family business really, I wouldn't be able to manage without
my sister Allita, she does many of the errands and helps with brewing.
Zelifra: So you want to be a magician, don't you like
running the shop?
Kauvara: It's all right but I do the same things every
single day! I want an exciting sort of life where the unexpected always
happens! You might think I have my head in the clouds but running a magic
shop is boring.
Zelifra: I see what you mean, and it's good that you
have dreams. Good luck, Kauvara. Hopefully the next time I see you, I'll
be interviewing Kauvara the Magnificent, greatest magician in all of Neopia!
Thank you for doing this interview.
Kauvara: Thank you, I hope so too. No problem, but I
better get back to work now.
Well folks, I hope you enjoyed getting to know our favorite
Kau a bit better! See you next week...
