The Kontana Scroll: Parts Three and Four

Kikugoku, Gotenks79, and Pozialle stood before the door, which lead to one of the pieces of the Kontana scroll taking turns guarding it day and night. Queen Kihalai, still worried, had Stefang as her bodyguard because if she is destroyed, all will be destroyed, and that was not something everyone wanted to happen.

"I hope those three knights are up to this." Queen Kihalai muttered to herself as she walked towards the dining hall.

"Oh they will be," said Stefang, "I have faith in them."

"I do too, but..." Queen Kihalai signed, "it's such a dangerous time right now."

Meanwhile, the NeoPets from the friendship hut had arrived before the castle with Invisihats on their heads. Flamie_500, Chelses, KawaiiMiki, and KawaiiMika started throwing Neggs at the guards causing them to start munching on the food. Then, TrailMixed ran up, still invisible, and gave the guards a double punch. While the guards tried to fight off TrailMixed's surprise attack, Gyka shot a lava spit at each of them while Yamakarasu sprayed a sleeping potion she got from a witch in the forest.

With the guards asleep, the group of friends went inside, but after they poured water on the guards to make sure they wake up and start guarding again. They didn't know where the Queen kept the piece of the Kontana scroll, so that made things harder for the friends. Finally, they found out by threatening a nervous Techo. They left the Techo sleeping from the sleeping potion and hurried towards the south tower, where Queen Kihalai put the piece of the Kontana scroll.

Kikugoku, Gotenks79, and Pozialle were all on guard and looked very alert. Gyka and Yamakarasu nodded towards each other, jumped in front, and put on their Terror Stones. Kikugoku, Gotenks79, and Pozialle suddenly weren't able to use any attacks anymore and Chelses and KawaiiMiki tied them up while Flamie_500 and KawaiiMika were on guard. Gyka grabbed the piece of the Kontana scroll and when the friends were just turning back after leaving the three knights wondering what happened, Queen Kihalai with Stefang appeared.

"No!" exclaimed the Queen staring at the friends with disbelief, "You all tried to ruin our kingdom?!"

"No, no, no, my highness," said Chelses quickly, "I'm so sorry, but we need to piece all the Kontana pieces together right now, bye!" The group quickly ran, but Stefang caught up.

"Uh-oh," muttered Flamie_500 under his breath.

"We have more NeoPets on our side," said KawaiiMiki, "so let's do this."

"I don't know," said TrailMixed as she tried to avoid Stefang's ranged attack, "we do look pretty guilty doing this!"

Yamakarasu and TrailMixed used close attack on Stefang at the same time knocking him to the ground. Stefang made a quick recovery and was back on his foot again, but by then, the group of friends already melted the glass window and was flying away with their flying abilities. But since not all of them had the ability to fly, they took off on their friends' backs. Stefang looked on as he saw the group disappear into the forest and then quickly ran to the queen.

"Aurgh," said the queen, "we need to get more strong pets...especially when the strong pets in the forest are the traitors!"

"I don't believe they are traitors," said Stefang, "I know that they would never hurt Makailai or seriously injure one of us."

At that moment, Cadbury_Bunny came up the stairs, out of breath, and said, while panting, "They are innocent, your highness!!!"

"But how could they possibly be innocent?" asked Queen Kihalai.

"Please," said Cadbury_Bunny, "believe me, they are innocent!"

"I really want to believe you, Cadbury," said the queen, "but we have no proof, and it is my duty to command that Kikugoku and Gotenks79 should track them down. And you know what happened. The guards at the door with fresh lava spit will never prove those NeoPets innocent!" Cadbury_Bunny shook his head hopelessly as he hopped away announcing the news.

"Cadbury was right, your highness," said Stefang quietly.

"You agree with him?!" shrieked Queen Kihalai, "of all people I thought I could trust!"

"Maybe it's because we are right," said Stefang, "have you even considered that?"

The queen stared at Stefang. There was a long pause before she said, "Yes, of course I considered, but there is no proof that they are innocent. Besides, do you really consider breaking in innocent?" Queen Kihalai walked away and Stefang followed her.

"How are you feeling Makailai?" asked Chelsto as Makailai regained her conscious.

"I'm feeling fine - OUCH!" Makailai tried to sit up but her head was still hurting.

"So who was the attacker?" asked Chelsto.

"I - I don't remember," answered Makailai after thinking for a while, "but I think it was some kind of Zafara."

"Oh no!" said Chelsto, "The queen thinks my brother Gyka and company were the attackers because they... well... broke in to the castle this morning and, Yamakarasu and KawaiiMiki are Zafaras!"

"Well, they aren't the attackers," said Makailai.

"How do you know?" asked Chelsto.

"Because I do." Said Makailai.

Just this moment, the door burst open, and the group of NeoPets from the friendship hut came running in along with Glowhardt, Makailai's sister.

"Oh Makailai!" Glowhardt ran forward while the group of friends and Chelsto were engaged in a deep conversation about the Kontana scroll pieces."

"Aww man," exclaimed Flamie_500 looking at the piece, "this has got to be the smallest piece!"

"Well, read it Gyka!" said KawaiiMika excitedly.

"OK, here goes, the first line says 'The one expected is always' and the second one says 'the firehole where'" read Gyka, but then, there was a knock on the door.

Everyone froze as they heard Kikugoku call, "Open the door to knight Kikugoku for I must search for the following NeoPets: Flamie_500, KawaiiMiki, Chelses, TrailMixed, Gyka, KawaiiMika, and Yamakarasu, and bring them to the queen!"

"Yes, and please can you open this door, in the name of the queen!" called Gotenks79.

"Quick, down the secret door!" Whispered Chelsto as he pushed the group down a door under the carpet.

"Come on!" called Pozialle, "You don't want to make me bang this door down, do you?!"

The seven friends hurried down as Chelsto closed the trap door and opened the main door for Kikugoku. They crept along the damp earth tunnel and then, they heard a faint sob. The friends crept faster until they found a Lupe lying on the floor. Then as KawaiiMiki looked closer, she yelled, "He's got fungus on his foot...ewww!"

"No, he hasn't," said TrailMixed, "it's a slice of ruined pizza! You terrible Lupe, ruining my dinner!"

"You two silly things," said Gyka, "he's hurt and that’s a piece of cloth around the leg!"

"Cloth?" said Flamie_500 and Chelses together and stared at each other thinking of the same thing, maybe it is one of the pieces of the Kontana scroll.

Yamakarasu bent down and asked, "Who are you? How did you get hurt? Why are you here?"

The Lupe stared back with sad shaking eyes, but said, "I - I'm Exlund and I got lost while I was on a quest... and I just found this tunnel, but while passing through, this Zafara came and while I wasn't looking, she whipped me and ran away."

"Ugh, I’ll bet it’s the same Zafara as the one who injured Makailai!" exclaimed Yamakarasu.

Chelses bent down and examined Exlund's broken leg. Her many months of quick aid studying paid off here as she wiped and wrapped the broken leg like an expert with new cloth and other instruments she uses to help the leg grow better faster. Flamie_500, having an old water watch, watched and listened as the tick tock went on. They were nearly at the exit, and they had to move fast or else Kikugoku, Gotenks79, or Pozialle would find them soon. After a long, tense waiting, TrailMixed burst out, "Oh no, I forgot to buy Levren that sweater we saw in the shop AGAIN!" This was when the group of friends started talking again, and discussing the pieces of the scroll. In the end, they decided that Exlund could go along with them. Exlund couldn't run very fast with a broken leg, but because he was pretty fast originally, he still could run half that speed which was still pretty fast. Finally, when the eight friends reached the exit, they found themselves in a part of the forest they didn't know and that scared them.

"Oh no," Gyka mumbled as he stared at the blackness which looked like it went on forever.

Suddenly, they heard thundering noises and millions of light. The eight NeoPets blinked at the bright fire blazing and when they opened their eyes, they found themselves surrendered, by the royal Unis from the castle TaraStarr_2000 and Magicthegreat, and the knights, Kikugoku Gotenks79 and Pozialle, on the backs of them. In addition to that, there was a whole army behind them. Interestingly enough, they were staring at the front right foot of Exlund. The friends looked at that direction too, it was the piece of cloth that was on Exlund in the first place; they realized what it was, it was one of the pieces of the Kontana scroll, and the fierce looking knights are not going to let these NeoPets go without a fight.
