The battlefield was a barren desert on the South of Neopia. The early
morning sun left the sky a lovely shade of pale pink.
"Whoosh.. Whoosh.. Whoosh...." The timely sounds of the Dark Faeries
appearing in rows, challenging their opponent to defeat them and throwing
balls of dark light, destroying any plant or animal in their way.
The Good Neopians and Faeries stood on the other side, also in rows.
They nodded from across the field and so it began.
Bolts of light were flying, and it was clearly the faeries that had
the upper hand. Chias and Jubjubs were the easiest targets and it was
all the faeries could do to revive them.
Prypha deflected a lot of the attacks and used her specialty, a Water
Tornado.
Soon there were only a handful of people on either side and at the front
were the Dark Uber Faerie and her minions against the Faerie Queen. The
queen was already badly injured.
The Good Neopians and Faeries left tried to help but the Faerie Queen
told them not to. Suddenly an unexpected bolt of light shot out from a
shadowy cloaked figure and the Faerie queen fell. She began to shine and
sparkle until she was so bright that looking at her hurt your eyes, then
she disappeared.
Soon it was just Prypha and someone else fighting for Neopia. Everyone
else was injured. Prypha looked at that person and saw her beloved Terren!
"What are you doing?" she yelled. He looked at her, but kept on fighting.
"ENOUGH! Retreat!" the Uber Air Faerie called. The Dark Faeries stepped
back. "Icarden, finish them off!" The dark shadowy figure stepped forward
and removed his cloak. He looked just like Prypha, except with short,
cropped hair!
"Brother..." Prypha said. She stared into his eyes and he stared into
hers.
"What's the matter, Icarden?" the Dark Faerie yelled. "Finish them off!"
Icarden turned around. "I'm not Icarden! I'm Merfeud!" he said.
The Dark Faerie didn't care. She pointed a ball of light at Terren and
Prypha and shot it out. It was as if time had frozen. Merfeud ran between
the ball and his sister and got hit. He sparkled and vanished.
Prypha had tears in her eyes. "How could you!" she yelled. She started
glowing. Then, when she was as white as snow she unleashed an immense
ball of power at the Dark Faeries and they vanished.
Then Prypha fainted.
Prypha was made Faerie Queen and she reunited with her lost parents in
Maraqua.
When she asked the Battle Faerie how it was that Terren had gone unharmed
she was told that maybe her love for Terren was so great that even though
she did not know it she was protecting him in battle.
Terren and Prypha were very deeply in love and were married in the Spring
and all were invited. A memorial was made for the Faerie Queen and Merfeud
and if you visit the desert where the battle was held you will see two
statues and plaques in their honour. The tale of Prypha and Merfeud is
always a favourite for Neopian storytellers and they often change the
story just a little bit. What you have read is the real story of Prypha.
Prypha is now queen and Terren is king and they are both very happy.
Why don't you come by the palace and visit them?
