The Selfish Uni

Hi my name is GoldNBeautiful. I am a gold UNI and do I have a story to tell! Ever since I was born I was in the care of my owner NiNjaNayNay. Along with my two brothers and my sister, Ninjanaynay did everything she could to make us happy. At first she ran a small shop, then as it got bigger and she got richer we became increasingly spoiled.

I have to admit we lived the good life, unlike many pets in Neopia. Each of us had a pet and many abilities. We had everything we could dream of and more, until one day that I wished had never happened (but in the end I am glad it did).

Ninjanaynay had bought us each a toy to play with and all of my siblings StudNumber2 , Kilesto, and Herm_00 were very thankful that they got the toys. But me, well I had to open my big mouth. The only thing that came out was "Thanks but all the other pets have more toys then me," and I let out a pout.

Just then Ninjanaynay stood up and said, "Can't you just be grateful of what you have instead of what you don't have?"

"Well," I said, "why when you can afford practically anything."

And that's when she got up and said, "Come-on Goldy." Goldy was a nickname every one called me. I followed her out the door and down the road. She didn't say a word to me until we got there! It was the pound! All I could think was, "No! No! You Cant Throw Me Away!"

We walked into a room with two doors: one was a beautiful blue and the other was a rusty color. We headed straight to the door that said "Abandon" on it. My heart was racing.

"How could she do this to me?" was all I could think.

She let me go and walked up to the meanest looking lady I have ever seen. They were talking in almost a whisper so I couldn't make out what she said. All I could see was the woman shake her head and point to the door. Ninjanaynay walked over to me and guided me to the door. My head hung low, and I was crying all the way there.

When we got inside all I could see were sad pets in small cages. She guided me to the center of the room, knelt down and said, "Do you see now? You are very well off compared to these poor pets in here. They have no one to play with them at all, no pet of their own and no Peophin Soft Toy. I brought that up because it is you favourite, and it cost me 3000 NP."

Then I looked up. She was right; I was lucky, then Ninjanaynay told me to follow her and we walked right out those doors and back home. And now everytime my owner and us Unis go shopping we make sure to buy something to place under The Money Tree for the less fortunate. The reason I told this story was because I hope you follow my example and don't become as selfish as I did.
