What to do to Prepare for the Battledome?

Okay, so Battledome is coming up! People are busy boosting their pet(s)'s levels, stats, buying them battle and defence items ... but let me tell you some tips on battling and buying stuff for probably the greatest game NeoPets has ever made.

I'm giving you all these tips because I'm a Battledome Alpha Tester. First of all, the levels and stats. I've found that a lower level can actually TIE (and sometimes beat!) a higher level pet, and a high level can lose to a lower level too. I've lost to a level 8 once with a level 43! Yeah, levels don't matter for Battledome! It's only useful for teaching your pet faerie abilities.

I once beat a level 61 Jetsam that has 75 HP (with a level 43 Shoyru that had 25/31 health!)!!! The owner of the Jetsam quickly asked me how I'd won the battle! The main part of Battledome is the equipped weapons and defences. They are your main key to winning. Ability powers DO eventually run out after a few turns if you turn them on strong, and even if you turn them on weak, it'll run out soon too, and so you will rely heavily on your equipped weapons in the middle to the end of the battle to win.

However, not all people can afford a Trident of Common Power (77777 NPs in Marketplace), buy some hefty expensive Faerie Weapons like Wand of the Light Faerie or Orb of the Fire Faerie, or get an Attack Fork (10000+ NPs), but everyone can start using some basic weapons and work their way up.

For example, a set of good basic weapons would be: Sparkshooter, Rainbow Gun, Basic (or Improved) Lightning Beam, Shields (Small Wooden, Large Metal, etc.), Bubble Beam (Level 1/2), Rainbow Flash, and you can add in a few of your choice to make up 7 (no point of adding more than 7, cuz you can't use the rest!). They are very cheap weapons and they deal a fair amount of damage.

I wouldn't recommend buying Faerie Weapons, cuz they're at least 25000 NPs in the Marketplace, which is mega expensive (unless you have A LOT of NPs). Buying Pumpkin Shield is pretty good, it can repel almost anything like its description (only costs 3000+ NPs). Grand Lightning Beam (very powerful ... sometimes deals 10+ damage), Ultra Bubble Beam, Supersize Mega Ultra Plus, Downsize Power Plus, etc... are good weapons and defences for rich guys.

If you're lucky, you can answer the Brain Tree's questions and win some good Halloween Battle and Defence Items, like Attack Fork, Pumpkin Shield, and Magic Branch. The bad thing about losing is that, well, you're frustrated (of course), and that your pet loses all its HP (*it faints*). If you're lucky, you'll come across a random event saying that your pets have recovered all their HP!Otherwise, you'll have to feed it food, or wait. Waiting takes WAAAAYYYY too long, but you have no choice since your pet might be bloated.

Neggery Neggs are nice health boosters, but they cost a lot of tokens. Healthshrooms in the Apothecary are pretty nice health boosters too, and they cost less.
