In ancient days, Faerieland was a haven in the clouds, a mystic realm that floated over the Neopian ocean far above the forests and plains of Neopia, protecting its magical inhabitants from trouble. To live in Faerieland was to live a charmed life, attending Poogle races and helping out at the Employment Agency for pocket change, or adventuring in the immense clouds. The grand palace of the Faerie Queen housed a portal to Altador, a Royal Faerie Library, and, according to rumour, the Hidden Tower.

All that changed when the sorceress Xandra petrified the faeries and broke the spells that held Faerieland aloft. The resulting crash devastated the realm, prompting years of restoration and repairs. Strange caves were discovered tunneling beneath Faerieland, although the faeries are not certain which are the remnants of ancient Faerie Caves or the Underclouds and which are new, nor do they know why some tunnels lead into the Haunted Woods...

Places of Interest:

Faerie City - From the Hidden Tower to the headquarters for Faerie Quests, Faerie City is a bustling metropolis with tourists flocking to visit every day. Many faerie-crafted items can be purchased in the merchant quarter, although the finest items are sent straight to the Hidden Tower. Only the cleverest Neopians are permitted inside to view the legendary stock, which is supervised by Queen Fyora herself.

Rainbow Fountain Healing Springs - The best place for any cure, so long as you have the patience, the Healing Springs are home to a Water Faerie with a talent for curing any illness and repairing any injury. Though she hears many complaints that her efforts are not enough, the Healing Faerie constantly stretches her magic beyond its limits to heal more Neopets. As for the snowballs she sometimes rewards? The Healing Faerie could not be reached for comment.

Rainbow Fountain - If you happen to visit the Rainbow Fountain, you will probably be turned away unless you have completed a quest. It is said that the Fountain Faerie Naia's quests are the rarest and most prized of all faerie quests, and only those who complete her difficult tasks are allowed entrance to the Rainbow Fountain, in order to keep its magic from being drained entirely. There, lucky Neopets may choose a splendid new colour as thanks for helping the Fountain Faerie.

Jhudora's Bluff - If Faerieland's sweet fragrance and cheerful inhabitants leave you gritting your teeth, a swing by Jhudora's Bluff might be in order. Archrival of the Earth Faerie Illusen, the Dark Faerie resides on a hill overlooking all of those pesky faeries. Jhudora always has a task she needs a minion for; just keep in mind that it's not necessarily wise to be that minion.
