Prologue: Discovering he can share his visions by playing the lyre, Orion shows the crowd images of an Aisha and Faellie lost across time and space in a strange place. The two struggle to survive as this realm overwhelms and corrupts them, with the Faellie making the ultimate sacrifice by cobbling together the little materials he could scavenge into a device capable of regulating the mysterious energy coursing through them.
Prologue: As the Aisha realizes her Faellie friend could only make one device and chose to save her instead of himself, she breaks down. Her emotions merge with the otherworldly essence flowing through her, and she accidentally tears open a hole back to Neopia. But where and when will she emerge?

However, amongst the throng of people, Orion starts having visions once more. This time, they seem to be pulling him to a certain location. With the help of festivalgoers, he was able to uncover an undiscovered petpet along with a mysterious lava musical cylinder in the depths of Moltara…
Chapter 1: A feeling of disquiet settles over Neopia as strange occurrences culminate into an assault on an entire land during the dead of night... Meanwhile, new heroes receive a call for adventure!

Chapter 3: Now appealing to the Council, Nyx and Juni must prove that they pose no threat to the assembled leaders before they can receive help. Fyora calls for a Light Faerie with a unique power to help shed some light on the predicament.
Chapter 3: Queen Fyora summons the Light Faerie Luxinia from the home she has been rebuilding on New Faerieland to confirm Nyx is who she says. With Luxinia’s unique ability to access memories tied to strong emotions, she may be the key to unravelling more of the mystery surrounding this Grey Curse…
Chapter 4: Dr. Landelbrot completes his work on a new void dampener for Juni and an updated version for Nyx. The Library Faerie uncovers a dusty tome that may hold some answers while word travels that more lands are being targeted.
Chapter 4: By reverse engineering the Void Dampener prototype that Juni cobbled together out of scraps, Dr. Landelbrot created a more compact version of the device for the selfless Faellie using the more advanced equipment he had at his disposal.
Chapter 4: Seshatia, the Library Faerie, finds an ancient tome titled ‘Navigating the Void’ buried deep within the Faerieland Library archives. This particular copy belonged to someone long ago, as it has additional notes and sketches in the margins, some of which look eerily familiar…

Baelia rises to the occasion, momentarily shielding her friends from the torrent of grey and buying them precious moments to escape. As the wave of grey overwhelms her, Luxinia swoops down to whisk Baelia away.
Chapter 6: After escaping the Grey Painter and learning his identity, the gang learns a little bit more about each other, too.
Chapter 7: The gang seems to be in an unorganised panic about what to do next. In order to help them all calm down Tavi makes some tea and tells them all a story about her past.
Chapter 8: Queen Fyora reached out to inform our heroes that their adversaries were attacking both Qasala and Sakhmet at the same time. Chapter 8: In a bizarre turn of events, the stray Doglefox was able to befriend Luperus through a game of catch. In turn, the massive three-headed canine showed the group the way to a strange door, but there was a puzzle waiting for them before they could open it…

Chapter 10: Vira and her army of shades commence their assault on the great city of Altador while Nyx and the gang finally exit the hidden passage.
Chapter 10: With the help of King Altador, the group came face-to-face with Vira and the Grey Painter. Nyx reunited with the Grey Painter, but he claimed to want nothing more to do with her, just like she wanted nothing to do with him. Nyx opened up, but during their heartfelt conversation, the assault on Altador continued, with Shades attempting to break into the city to wreak their destruction…
Chapter 10: Shades resembling Sefira, ancient Altadorian creatures, began to appear and assail our heroes as the battle for Altador intensified.
Chapter 11: The Grey Painter struggles to remember who he is as Nyx and Vira pull him in different directions.
Chapter 11: Nyx and Baelia tried to reach out to the Grey Painter, but Vira once more stood in their way. Before any appeals could be made to the Grey Painter, she would need to be defeated.
Chapter 11: As the struggle between Vira, Nyx and the Grey Painter intensified, the stray Doglefox jumped into the fray looking to protect an old friend, and Baelia and Luxinia leapt into action.
Chapter 12: Luxinia and Baelia attempt to understand the Grey Painter as they walk with him through his memories.
Chapter 12: After viewing his formative memories together, Luxinia and Baelia delve into the memories of Vira and Styx so that the Grey Painter can finally have a full picture of the past that shaped him.
Chapter 13: Snapping back to reality from his memories, the Grey Painter has a decision to make. The choice is already daunting enough, facing Vira, but both of them know full well their patron is always watching from afar… and hates to be disappointed.
Chapter 13: The Grey Painter extends a hand to Vira, even after learning how she deceived him, in hopes of convincing her that she, too, is worthy of redemption. This simple act of kindness sends Vira spiralling as she finds herself suddenly doubting everything she knew to be true.
Chapter 13: Sensing her Lieutenants wavering heart, the Malevolent Being playing patron shows herself, promising to make Vira beautiful on the spot. Vira, however, is no longer sure what she wants. Thanks to the Grey Painter distracting the Malevolent Being, Vira is able to escape.
Chapter 13: Despite her underlings turning on her, the Malevolent Being is still confident, and for good reason. She dismantles the forces opposing her with ease and summons the massive creature Nyx and Juni encountered in the Void to devastate what remains of Altador.
Chapter 14: The Malevolent Being whisks the Grey Painter away and heads to her next destination, leaving Altador to fall to ruin.
Chapter 14: Dismayed by the Malevolent Being's appearance and the fact that they lost Ozzy once again, the group frays as Nyx lashes out at Tavi. They decide to split up to cover more ground, helping the citizens of Altador as they make their escape from the crumbling city.
Chapter 14: While rescuing Tavi and some trapped children, Nyx gets caught under falling rubble. In a moment of panic, she discovers a new Void ability that allows her to merge with the darkness around her and slip through small, shadowy crevices. The experience is disorienting, and staying in this new form for too long proves to be dangerous, but she soon realises she is not alone as a familiar, melodious voice guides her to safety.
Chapter 14: Finally exiting the crumbling building, Nyx reunites with the group and makes up with Tavi. The two have a heart-to-heart, their friendship stronger than ever. They then devise a plan to chase after the Malevolent Being and Ozzy. With Luxinia’s guidance and Baelia’s crafting skills, the group aims to construct a giant horn capable of summoning Walein.
Chapter 14: Meanwhile, the Malevolent Being storms Faerieland, tearing through the castle’s defences. Upon reaching the Queen’s chambers, the Malevolent Being reveals themself to be Drakara, Fyora’s former right-hand Faerie and Faerieland Artificer who helped her claim the throne from the previous Faerie Queen. It seems the two were once quite close…
Chapter 14: Peeking behind the curtain of Drakara and Fyora’s history, we learn that the latter banished Drakara for defying her orders against developing weapons using forbidden magic. In addition to her exile, Drakara was also stripped of her wings and magic through the Grey Ritual. The fallen Faerieland Artificer bemoans wandering for years, searching for purpose, until she found someone who offered her what she had lost. Wings, power, a new name….
Chapter 14: Eruptions of magic and paint collide as the two Faeries clash. Despite Fyora’s immense power, Drakara gains the upper hand in their battle using her weapons. She manages to overwhelm the Faerie Queen with a torrent of grey before pushing the enfeebled Fyora over the railing of her own balcony.
Chapter 15: Drakara and Vocivus move on to their next target: the Rainbow Fountain. As the fallen artificer gloats over her creations, destruction, and machinations, Baelia must find the bravery to choose her own path.
Chapter 15: Baelia recognises Drakara, who reveals that she was given a new name after the Grey Ritual, Jennumara. She was the very same faerie responsible for Baelia losing her wings and power.
Chapter 15: Styx, despite being enfeebled by the grey, still defiantly stands up to Drakara in her moment of triumph. Although she sends him running off with a roar from Vocivus, his bravery inspires the others back into action.
Chapter 15: With the Abyssal Acolytes holding the others at bay, Drakara turns her attention to Baelia. She tempts the Grey Faerie, offering to give her Light Faerie wings and a name, but Baelia's friends are right behind her, drowning Drakara out. Everything has been leading up to this very moment, to the decision Baelia must make...
Chapter 16: Just when all hope is lost, Baelia finds their new name and identity themselves before leading a renewed charge against Drakara.
Chapter 16: The faerie that was once Baelia refuses Drakara’s offer and finds their new identity all on their own, emerging as the Rainbow Faerie, Iridesia!
Chapter 16: Reforming the broken pieces of the Rainbow Fountain into a magic multitool, Iridesia wields their newfound power in the charge against her former tormentor. Their differing philosophies clash as the battle wages on.
Chapter 16: Near-defeated and swarmed by powerful opponents, a desperate Drakara calls upon Vocivus to flatten her opposition. Iridesia notices that Drakara has been controlling the creature using a mysterious crystal, so they knock it from her grasp. As the gem shatters against the ground, a scrap of paper that was inside it blows away on a gentle breeze, and the chains leashing Vocivus fall away.
Chapter 16: Abject fear briefly rushes across Drakara’s face before she is seemingly crushed by Vocivus. Now free from her control, Vocivus turns his attention to the terrified Yurble still clinging to his crest….
Chapter 17: Ozzy sees a glimmer of hope as his sister fights relentlessly to free him, a glimmer that shines even brighter as some unexpected allies join the battle!
Chapter 17: Ozzy watches helplessly as Vocivus overwhelms Nyx and her friends, threatening to overtake Faerieland and perhaps all of Neopia. Just when all seems lost, Styx returns! Turns out he was never running away, but going to recruit his friend Luperus to help. Soon enough, Neopians from all walks of life and lands arrive to join the fight against Vocivus.
Chapter 17: Orion, who awoke from his slumber when the chains binding Vocivus fell away, joins the group! Possessed by someone or something else, the dishevelled Ogrin preoccupies the creature of the Void just long enough to pass along some crucial information. He reveals that Vocivus does have a vulnerability they can exploit together: vibrance.
Chapter 18: As Nyx and the others try to drive Vocivus back to the Void, Ozzy does his best to set things right.
Chapter 18: As Orion's words ring in his ears, Ozzy realises what he must do. With help from Irideisia, Ozzy finds the strength to snap the Acrimonious Brush and return colour to Neopia.
Chapter 18: Vibrance flooding back to the lands weakens Vocivus, who tears open a rift to the Void in a desperate move to sustain himself. Even as the Void corruption overtakes them, Nyx and Juni manage to force Vocivus through the portal he opened. The Void almost engulfs them as well, but all of their friends come together to anchor them until the portal closes.
Chapter 18: After the dust settles, Neopia emerges changed. Accepting himself, choosing to stay Grey, and vowing to see all the other shades of colour in the world, Ozzy volunteers to do community service at the Petpet Puddle to make up for all of the harm he caused. Feeling responsible for the chaos Drakara caused, Fyora announces she will be abdicating the throne. The former Faerie Queen intends to embark on a journey to find herself and make amends. Before departing, however, she plans to help Iridesia and Luxinia form a Faerie Council to guide Faerieland into a brighter future.
Chapter 18: After some time passes, the group reunites and checks in on one another. They've all been through a lot together, and it has bonded them for life. Ozzy and Nyx still have much to catch up on, but they've also learned the importance of giving each other the space to find their own happiness. As they set off on different paths at the end of the day, Ozzy feels a sense of calm as he waves goodbye to his friends, knowing he will see them all soon.
Chapter 18: While this story may be ending, it seems another is just beginning. The original Void rift may have shrunk, yet it remains in the sky despite Drakara's defeat. Could someone else out there have been delving into the Void this entire time? Best keep an eye out in case there is still a dark secret out there, just waiting to be uncovered...
