Baratie? He's around here someplace. Don't be afraid when he finally does come out, because -

(A huge furry blue lump is descending slowly from what appears to be a mangled Neopets Year 6 Balloon. ) He's a mutant. Not a fuzzy-floofy aisha. But cute in his very own special way.

"People can't be afraid of meh," Barrie mumbles faintly through his mouthful of giant yellow fangs. "I'm not teh scary. "

You are, however, one-eyed and you have mouths for ears, Baratie. Folks are used to big, googly anime-eyed pretty aishas and such. Not cuties like you. You're not something many folks expect to see as a winner of multiple Beauty Contests (including First Overall)!

"Is it because of these? Loot and Plunder won't hurt anybody. " The aisha reaches up and tugs on the hissing appendages. One grins at you and the other blows a raspberry.

"Well. . . Loot won't. " He pokes the left one with a soft paw. "Plunder! Cut that out!"

The right tentacle stops in mid spit-hiss. Then it chuckles evilly.

"I got teh Pet Spotlight?" Baratie has suddenly realized what all of this is about. The furry pink eyebrow lifts and his mouth drops open in shock as he stares at the folks watching him. He's really very quiet and the child of the 'Suki family, so he's unaware of how many people actually think he's a good little guy. Maybe he'll realize now, though!

"How could I? I'm only. . . I mean, Angel's other pets are more popular. " The big eyes swivels around to stare directly at you. He's now holding his balloon in both paws and hugging it.

"I'm just the little guy that likes balloons and lemony stuffehs. " He points to the huge collection of lemon items behind him in his room. "Lemons are teh great!">

Maybe we should point out that Baratie has played a great big role in this little family. . . . since he won't mention it himself.

"Balloons are teh awesome, too!" He shoves it at you and you decline politely. It is, after all, covered in aisha drool. He's been licking it. Anyway. . . Baratie is a wonderful neopet. He's just what is needed at our sometimes-chaotic household. Sanjisuki can get annoyed at Oddendale and go on a rampage, but Baratie is always mild mannered and quiet. Even I can sometimes get irritated when my fur gets frizzed or something goes wrong at the Restaurant we work and live at, but Barrie's always there to hug all of us and make us calm down.

He seats folks at the Restaurant, you know.

"I'm teh - I can't think of teh real word -- but. . . the guy that seats people. "

Good boy, Barrie. It's almost time for his nap, but he wants to say something else I'm sure. . . don't you, Barrie?

"I wanna say thanks to everyone who haff' helped meh before. And said nice things about mutant aishas. " He pauses, purring a little. "We're not ugly. We're just different. "

Well said, kiddo.

"Can we go buy another balloon now?" He nudges the deflating one at his feet. "This one's as sleepy as I am. "

I think you deserve it. Don't you, folks?
