Quote of the Week

At the fork that would lead her to the pond, her guiding speck of light flickered back to life and pointed hesitantly uphill towards a quarry. Delia followed, alert. The sun was declining. She could not afford to make a long detour.

Bare Your Fangs!

*BZZT SSHHHHKKKK* HA HA HA! YES! I'M HERE! Puny mortals, cower in fear! It's time...For vampires to shine! I am Lucifer Vamp. You may know me as the Cyber Vampire. Halloween Style Guide

Everyone loves Halloween. We all love any excuse to dress up and tap into our spooky sides. But picking an outfit is hard, and you don’t want to spend the next year having missed out on this seasons’ ‘it’ item. So we’ve complied this guide, and sorted through to find the best items for you, just in time for the spooky season!

Trick or Treat: A Halloween Candy Review

Duckie and Glymmer say BOO!! Hello hello friends! Duckie and Glymmer here to give you a run through of the best Halloween treats in Neopia! This is the time of year when you can get your sugar fix guilt-free, so enjoy the heck out of it. Let’s do this thing! (Duckie rarely feels guilty about guzzling down sweets. Glymmer, on the other hand, wisely watches his intake. You don't get a figure like this fabulous boy by eating candy corn!) We do insert a disclaimer that our recommendations for spooky sweets ARE definitely biased towards the best Neopet species, but we’ve tried our best to be fair… more or less. :)

"Halloween at the Deserted Fairgrounds " by bubbles150
“Wow! Check it out. The Deserted Fairgrounds has a Halloween theme tonight” a blue Lutari dressed in a Daring Sea Captain Trousers, Daring Sea Captain Coat, Elegant Gear Boots, Apple Bobbing Cane and Freshly Wet Wig said to a white Xweetok as he looked at all the Halloween decorations at the Deserted Fairgrounds. “And everyone here is wearing their own Halloween costume, this is just so cool” the Blue Lutari exclaimed joyfully. Standing on the ground next to him was a Lutra named Renee and a Veespa called Mina.“Thank you for inviting us along, Tyzlant. I’d normally be sitting at home reading stories to my Naalala, Raine. Coming out here is worth it” a white Xweetok said. The white Xweetok was wearing a Barbat Costume, Battle Scar Marking, Space Gypsy Xweetok Gloves, Earrings of Barbat, Black and Red Stripe Stockings and Shoes and held a Basket of Apples in her left hand. Her Petpet a Naalala named Raine was sitting on the apples looking around at everything in excitement.

"Friday: Therapy Session IV " by vanquishee
Note: This short story was inspired by a particular petpet, can you figure out which one before you finish the tale? Tick. Tick. Tick. Some days it was as if time passed by within a blink of an eye. Unfortunately for The Psychologist, today was not one of those days. It was as if the cracks within Tyrannia were breaking faster than the much-needed break-through he wanted to make with this particular client. “Come on, haven’t you heard of the thrill of the chase?” The Client replied. “Like that feeling of dangling a piece of string in front of a Kadoatie only to take it away last minute? Oh how much that excites me!" This particular Client has been difficult to work with from the get-go. It has been well over two months since the beginning of their first therapy session, yet there has been no development in sight! “Research has revealed the thrill of the chase replicates that feeling of your brain releasing chemicals like dopamine, adrenaline, and epinephrine,” replied The Psychologist. “These also happen to be the natural hormones that leads us feeling happiness and euphoria.”

"Submersion " by catchinglights
He should have stayed on the mainland. The moon was high in the sky, although Levi had no way of knowing that with the swirling dark clouds obscuring any source of light, sans the occasional bolt of lightning that pierced across the rolling cloudscape. The Zafara was clinging desperately to the mast of his sailboat. Roaring winds thrashed at sails Levi lacked the strength to pull in, and heavy waves rolled beneath the creaking wood beneath his feet. Everyone had warned Levi that a storm was brewing off the coast: the newspaper, the townsfolk in the harbor town from whence he had shoved off, even the frail old Eyrie who lived in the lighthouse overlooking the coast.“Are you sure you want to go out, lad? This is looking to be the worst storm I’ve ever seen,” he had warned. And Levi had said yes. His work on Roo Island was finally done, and he was eager to get back home. Communication had been scarce. Levi missed his family. Roo Island was not too terribly far from Brightvale, he reasoned. With the wind at his back, he would make it home within a day. So, he said yes. He should have said no. He should have stayed on the mainland.
