Quote of the Week

"You gave up a treasured belonging to help an injured petpet, you learned from this petpet the importance of self worth. And loyalty, friendship. You are indeed a worthy Neopian."

Charity Without The Corner

Sadly Charity Corner only comes around once in a blue moon (that means it is pretty rare), but that doesn't mean you can't be charitable year round! There are many ways to be helpful to struggling Neopians. Unfortunately, you won't be rewarded with a massive amount of R99 items, but you can take peace in knowing that you helped someone out that day, and really that should be reward enough!

Preparing For Altador Cup

Every year, Neopia is completely taken over by the largest phenomenon it has ever known. A sports competition of epic proportions. The Altador Cup. What we know, is that you'll need to start endurance training. If you want to take home the gold for your chosen land, you'll need to put in a LOT of work behind the keyboard and score a lot of goals in Yooyuball!

Twelve Challenges for AC XII

The Altador Cup is a prestigious event that is eagerly anticipated throughout the off-season from team members and fans alike. With all of this built up excitement and anticipation, it can be easy to get caught up in all of the atmosphere and forget the main goal of the whole event, taking home the Cup!

"Mipsy's Charm Bracelet" by crazy_holly_ii
The mirror is broken again. At least it's not on fire, this time, although she can hear her parents having a Discussion in shouted whispers downstairs. To them, this is probably not much of an improvement. Ear to the door, she hears someone coming up the stairs. She races back to her bed and flops down onto it dramatically just as the door opens. "Mipsy?" her mother says. "Yeah?" "You're not in trouble, sweetheart," Mum says, taking a seat on the bed next to her, "but your dad and I are becoming a little concerned." "I can't help it!" she bursts out, close to tears. "I don't want to keep breaking things, or zapping frogs in the backyard, or -" "- I know," her mother says soothingly. "Dad's really mad, isn't he?" she says in a small voice. "Of course he isn't! You know we both love you." Mipsy takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm down as she lets herself believe that. Her mother takes to brushing her fur, a task Mipsy abandoned after the mirror accident. After she's finished, her mother says, "Why don't we start picking up some of the glass, hm? No reason to hurt yourself later." Leaving her mother to sweep up the tiniest pieces, Mipsy finds herself distracted with the larger ones. Her reflection in many of them is staggered and multiplied by the spiderwebbed cracks. It scares her, just a little bit. She has nightmares about much scarier things, sometimes. Mud monsters and evil wizards and the like.

"Little Yellow Kougra" by heysarahkate
Little Yellow Kougra gazed up at the sky. It was a beautiful day like any other, but he was sad, and discouraged. It was unlike him to not play with the other Kougras, but he had too much on his mind. He looked down at his yellow paws, sulking. He had a pout on his face, wishing he could fly. Little Yellow Kougra didn't want to be a Pawkeet-like bird, but instead wanted to soar above the others: he wanted to be heard. Little Yellow Kougra, frowning and sad, just couldn't figure out how to roar... and boy, did it make him mad. He was the only Little Yellow Kougra, with a teeny tiny voice. If it was up to him he would be louder than everyone! But he just had no choice. Everytime he would try, a squeak would come out. One that reminded him of a Meepit, without a doubt. He was embaressed by this noise, and wanted to roar, but with his luck, he would never figure it out, and be stuck on the ground instead of being able to soar. He had finally given up, after weeks of trying. It was hard to fit in, without flying. The others could roar, and make tons of noise - but Little Yellow Kougra could only manage a squeak, which he didn't want anyone to hear anymore. Little Yellow Kougra practiced each day, and he did everything he could to roar. Absolutely nothing seemed to work, he just couldn't soar. Little Yellow Kougra watched the other Kougra boys, they were loud and proud, but Little Yellow Kougra just couldn't make noise. He watched them sadly as they went about and played, but Little Yellow Kougra's sadness was the feeling that stayed.

"Teaching the Soup Faerie" by danzgirl12
"Sorry. Layla can’t come out to play today…she’s a dirty little thief!” Little brothers were the worst sometimes (okay, most of the time). Layla the Pink Acara clenched her teeth together as she trudged through a thick patch of shrubbery beyond the outskirts of Neopia Central. On a normal weekend morning, you could usually find her strolling around to the different shops with her best friends from school, Trevor and Maxine. They would often go pick out smoothies to sip as they leisurely continued on with their window shopping throughout the afternoon. Today, however, was not a normal day. When Trevor and Maxine arrived to her front door as expected, Layla couldn’t bear to answer the door. “Just tell them I’ve left to do some errands for Mom,” she had instructed her little brother, Jay. She had witnessed the hesitation in the Baby Gelert’s movement to answer the door, and she knew immediately that he had something else in mind, something terrible. THIEF! The word brought with it a mixture of emotions: embarrassment, sadness, anger. Most of all, she felt a desperate need to prove herself so that everyone knew she was the furthest thing from a thief you could imagine. Layla was almost to her destination now. As she drew closer, the buzz of hundreds of other Neopians grew louder in her ear. She thought the central shops were busy on the weekend, but that was nothing compared to the raucous yells and shrieks she was hearing as she approached the edge of the marketplace. She stepped off the unkempt grass and onto a neat cobblestone path.

Janet and Jane: The Case of the Monster Hunter
Jane, Natia, and James all went home several hours ago. I told them I wanted to stay and work on things related to the crime ring that my mom and dad were working to get rid of. I wasn't getting very far. I didn't know if it was because I didn't have enough information right now or if it was because I needed sleep.
