Holiday Avatar Gift Guide

     As an avatar collector, I usually have my sights set on some festive avatars. Unfortunately, you usually can’t wrap an avatar and send it in a box. But fret not! If you know a collector, and you’d like to give them a new avatar this year, I have identified a few festive avatars that can almost be gifted. With a variety of price ranges, you can spend as much or as little as you want and have gift ideas for several of the people on your list.

     • Less than 1000 np: Angelpuss

     The angelpuss is a sweet, adorable kitten, and is featured on an avatar obtainable by having one attached to one of your Neopets. This avatar features their angelic halos, wings, and pure white fur, which are all reminiscent of freshly fallen snow and making angels in it. If that wasn’t enough for the winter holiday feeling of this avatar, the flashing title of angelpuss adds an extra festive touch. At such a reasonable price, this petpet is a great gift to buy if you’re on a tight budget or need to get a smaller gift for someone.

     • 1000 to 10,000 np: Starry Snowbunny Plushie

     Having a starry item in the inventory can lead to getting a shiny new starry Gelert avatar while exploring Neopia. Stars are everywhere during the holiday season; they’re on top of trees, hanging in the streets, adorning walls and windows. The shorter days mean we even have more night to gaze upon these symbols of the holiday. There are, of course, several starry items one could find in Neopia (which is why the price range is larger than the typical price range of the Starry Snowbunny Plushie), but this plushie has an additional festive aspect. It’s a SNOW-bunny! It is therefore thematically appropriate as a wintery gift. At such an affordable price, one of these plushies (or the other starry items available) would make a great small gift for someone, or work well as part of a larger gift.

     • 10,000 to 25,000 np: Snicklebeast

     Having a snicklebeast attached to one of your pets for long enough can also earn you an avatar. The wintery cuteness of this petpet that hails from snowy Terror Mountain is perfectly complemented by the glistening snowfall in the background of the avatar. It even sparkles like snow! In addition to the avatar, the Neopet who receives this petpet is sure to love playing in the snow with this wintery pal. Because of the price of snicklebeasts, this is a great gift to give if you don’t want to break the bank, but also want to show the recipient that you care enough to spend more than just a few thousand neopoints on them.

     • 25,000 to 100,000 np: Snow Paint Brush or snow morphing potion

     The snow day avatar can be obtained by having a snow pet and features a snow Wocky napping on what is presumably a bed of freshly fallen snow. This avatar delightfully depicts the joy of a snow day, sleeping in and waking up to a winter wonderland, with nothing to do all day but enjoy it. The snow Wocky doesn’t even seem upset by the interruption of her nap. There are a few possible ways to gift this avatar, as a pet can be painted snow by using a snow paint brush or a morphing potion (though some of the morphing potions may be outside the price range stated here). If you’re looking to give someone a special gift without going broke, this paint brush and some of the morphing potions are in a doable price range.

     • 100,000 to 200,000 np: Icy Snowflake

     The ‘Let it Snow!’ avatar is absolutely perfect for anyone who loves a snowy white Christmas! You can give your loved on the gift of this wintery avatar by gifting them an icy snowflake and just waiting for a snowy day on Terror Mountain, the most Christmas-y of all the Neopian lands. There’s no avatar that better captures the joy of a snowy day than this snowy pet in a snowflake-shaped frame with pretty, twinkling snow around the border. If you can afford to spend a bit more on a gift, the icy snowflake is a great choice, particularly for those who enjoy winter snow.

     • 200,000 to 300,000 np: Snowbunny

     A white snowbunny happily sliding down a snowy slope is featured on avatar that is obtained by having a snowbunny attached to a Neopet for long enough. Similar to some of the aforementioned avatars, this one also features snow and furry white petpet. This avatar also captures the cheerful, playful aspect of the winter holidays. It emphasizes the fun of Christmas! The price of a snowbunny is on the high side, so it’s not a gift that can be given on a budget. However, the recipient will get not only the avatar, but also the adorable petpet, so it would make a great gift to show you care.

     • 250 million to 300 million np: Snowy Valley stamp album page

     Filling up the Snowy Valley page of one’s stamp album is a truly remarkable feat, but one who accomplishes this task will gain a beautiful avatar featuring a candychan. The pink and white stripes against the green wings and background just scream festive, at least in my opinion. If you have the neopoints to do it, giving this gift will not disappoint. When the recipient gets 25 Christmas themed stamps to add to their album and a new avatar along with it, what more could they ask for? This gift would also work equally well for stamp collectors, in addition to avatar collectors. Anyone who gets this gift will have no doubts that they are loved and valued. The price is quite steep, though, so you need to have plenty of neopoints to spare if you’re planning to give this gift.
