Neoquest 2: Terror Mountain Sprint Through by califorthehomeless
--------
You made it through Chapter 1! Congrats, now 4 more chapters till we get close to an avatar or trophy! No worries though, we'll RUN through it! We're starting off at the beginning of Terror Mountain. There's a cute little town, Chia Oscuro. Bad news though, you can only understand one of the residents! Go find Thaddeus in the north building and have a chat with him. So we're off to find a stone that'll help us figure out with those cute little Chias are saying! Right about Chia Oscuro is another no encounter zone. Level up till you are level 20 and let's go find this boss! Leximp This guy is optional to take on, but if you want to stock on potions or rest in Chia Oscuro, it's necessary. You're at level 20 and ready to help the Chias out, so we're going to head east to the Damp Smelly Cave. Here's where we find our thief! He's a pretty easy guy to battle, but he's very resistant to Mipsy's magic. Watch your health and hit him hard, no need for any potions against this guy. Now we've got our wonderful stone back, let's head back to town! Now that we can understand the residents, buy some potions and some near gear! I'd grab a few Frost Potions for later use! There is also a free resting spot here for you! Once again, I'd level up right here to spare yourself healing potions! I'd try to get to level 22 or 23 before heading out to search for your next boss. Let's head east to the Cave of Terrors. I honestly just book it on Normal through this cave. On the other side is Mountainside Inn, where we will find the next person to join our small team! Grab Talinia and let's spend her skill points! Like my last article, I will post a breakdown of her skills and what I chose. She's an archer and a good one at that! Her attacks come from farther away, like Mipsy. Talinia's Skills: Increased Bow Damage: Increases damage output when using bows. Multiple Targets: Fires multiple bow shots at once. (They do not automatically apply) Ranged Attacks: Any opponent targeting a character with this skill will take longer to perform the action. Shockwave: Hits have a chance to cause a shockwave, which stuns all enemies temporarily. Slowing Strike: Whenever the ranger hits an enemy, the enemy will usually slow down for a period of time. Innate Magic Resistance: Increases resistance to magic attacks. Innate Melee Haste: Increases attack speed. She's got some pretty sweet skills. To me Slowing Strike is useless. I only put a couple points in Innate Magic Resistance, like Rohane. So here's my breakdown of most important: 1. Increased Bow Damage 2. Multiple Targets 3. Innate Melee Haste 4. Shockwave/Ranged (pick one and give it 11 points) 5. Innate Magic Resistance I gave the first two 10and Innate Melee Haste 11 (which is a must). We got her skills all figured out, now let's go get our last two bosses of this chapter! (Yes only two more!!) Before we leave the Mountainside Inn, let's go see the chef. Rumor has it he also makes potions and we might as well grab a bunch Chill Potions… if the rumor is true. Make sure you are level 24 and let's go get that giant snow crab, Kolvars Kolvars Have Talinia throw slowing potions at him until he's slowed down, while letting Mipsy and Rohane hit him with their best shots. When he slows down, Talinia can help them out. Damage potions work well on him, so if you please, lob some at him! Like always, watch your health closely and heal as you see needed. You'll have a crab cake soon enough and be able to head towards Happy Valley. After winding your way through the passes, you find yourself in Happy Valley! Talk to some the of townspeople and you'll soon figure out a little boy is missing! Oh no for the town, but lucky you to be able to get a discount if you find him. Hunt down his mother Jualie. Look at your maps and she'll be in her home. Now to time the little booger Niacha. Head west and he's behind some trees beneath the lake. Once you find him, tell him to high tail it home. Now you've got some great discounts! Stock up on potions and some new gear to protect yourself! I bought 20 of both Frost and Chill potions, for safety in later boss battles. Now that we've helped a wonderful little town and have some new stuff let's head out and find our final boss. Switch to normal mode to head up to the Adventurer's Camp. Once you get close to the camp there is a no encounter zone! This was my favorite place to level up and I leveled up a TON just to be safe and save my potions. The Adventurer's Camp also has a free place for you to rest. Once you get there talk to Allden! He'll let you stay as long as you need to, since you guys are all adventurers too. So now it's time to seriously level up, you can head back down the pass south or head up to the caves north to level up! I leveled up to 30, even though the recommended level for Scuzzy was 29. Since no one in your party can heal (yet), I thought I'd save some money and spend more time on this stage! It's up to you but don't try to hunt down Scuzzy without being close to level 29. We're at a level we feel comfortable going to find the final boss! There's four caverns in the lost caves and you must head through ALL of them! Since I leveled up so much I preceded through these caves on Normal, but if you need to level up a bit more feel free to Hunt! You'll see the Snowager on the 4th floor and you can talk to him if you see necessary! He's excited that you're there to help. Keep on going until you reach the mountain top and that's where you'll find our final boss Scuzzy. Scuzzy He's not very fast but he does have some tricks to make him faster. I recommend using Talinia to slow him down. Have Mispy and Rohane attack. After he's slowed you can also have Talinia throw some damage potions at him to really knock him down. As always, watch that health like a hawk! We don't want to lose a member of our team. VICTORY! Ah so you've completed Chapter 2, and we are so much closer to a trophy and a couple of snazzy avatars now! Watch the clips and head into the Lost Desert. Be prepared to walk a TON!
