How To Be A Little Less Grey

Being grey isn’t always super fun, in fact a lot of times it gets kind of lonely and dreary. But being grey doesn’t mean you have to be sad all the time! I’ve seen plenty of grey neopets with a smile on their face! I’ll admit, some days it can be hard to cheer myself up, but I feel like I’ve learned quite a few ways to make sure that any of your grey friends are as happy as they can be.

Here are just a few things you can do to make you’re grey pet show a bit of the smile that they’ve hidden for so long:

1. Healing Springs.

Take your neopet to the healing springs. Sure, we’ve all had those days where you’re in desperate need of healing, and our water faerie friend has a “super great spell” that only heals for the smallest amount possible, but taking a trip to the Healing Springs is a great way to start the day. I’d much rather feel refreshed first thing in the morning than feel like a puddle of syrup, wouldn’t you?

2. Toys

Who doesn’t love toys to play with? My person favorite are plushies. Pretty much any plushie will do, after all they’re super soft and there are just so many to choose from! Take your neopet to a the Plushie Palace and have them pick out their favorite one from the bunch. After all, who wouldn’t want to cuddle up with their favorite plushie at the end of the day?

3. Petpets

What? You’re telling me you don’t have a petpet for your neopet? Well that needs to be fixed! Petpets offer your neopet the ability to have a small friend to be with all the time. You wont always be around to play with your neopet all day will you? It’s not likely, you’ve got avatars to collect and sometimes you’re neopet will be by themselves. Petpets are the best way for your grey neopet to have some company while you’re not around. Make sure you choose a nice looking little petpet that you’re neopet will like!

4. Explore

Take your neopet for a day out! Sure, you live in Shenkuu, and the scenery there is fabulous, but it’s nice to get a chance of scenery once in a while. Take your pet to the Lost Desert and maybe spin the Wheel of Extravagance! Or you can go to Maraqua and take part in some super cool underwater fishing! There are so many places in Neopia to be explored. You aren’t going to find treasure and lost secrets just sitting around in the same spot all day will you?

5. Dress Up

Now we all know that we Moehogs are the cutest of all neopets, but sometimes it’s nice to have a neat scarf to wear, or even a cool hat. Neopets love being dressed up, especially in super wacky outfits! Take the Hot Dog Outfit with Mustard for example. Who wouldn’t want to spend the day dressed up as a hot dog? It’s quite possibly the best wearable out there so why not stop by Uni’s Clothing Shop and pick one up? While you’re there you might even come across some other cool things your neopet would look dashing in!

6. Art

All neopets love having the ability to show off a trophy. I mean honestly, what neopet hasn’t gone around bragging that they won 3rd place in the Beauty Contest? I know I’d be bragging up a storm if I’ve won. So draw you neopet! Grab a drawing utensil of your choice and have your neopet strike a pose! When you’re done show your neopet! Whether or not you enter it into a contest or just hang it on the wall or your neohome, it’ll surely brighten your grey neopets day!

7. Books

No neopet loves being read to more than a grey neopet. After all it’s pretty likely gravity has had a large effect on us today and we’re looking pretty similar to that Melted Chocolate Negg you accidentally left out in the sun. So since we’re already comfortable, why not pull up a chair and read us that copy of Grey in the Shade.

8. Treats

Neopets love treats. Be it candy or ice cream, neggs or fruit, all neopets love going out to get their favorite treat. There are such a wide variety of treats to choose from too! Take your neopet to the Fresh Foods shop and pick out a Deluxe Elephante Cake! Or swing on over to the Exotic Foods shop and see if they have some Steaming Hot Udon Noodles! No matter what their favorite treat is, you should always find the time to take them out to pick it out!

9. Smile

Smiles are contagious you know. When my Cobrall, Sping comes up to me with a smile on his face I can’t help but smile as well. Cheering up a grey neopet can seem really hard, but sometimes all it takes is something as simple as a smile.

10. Be Grey Yourself

Grey neopets often feel outcasted and unaccepted in the world. Supporting them in their greyness is a grey way to get your neopet on the road to a smile! Maybe they need a new A Grey Day Background, or maybe a few grey foods in their diet. Either way, make sure you support your grey pet in their greyness! Having you accept them for being grey is really what they need the most.

So as you can plainly see, there are plenty of ways to cheer up your grey pet! Just because we look down and out, doesn’t mean we have to feel down and out all the time. Being grey is just a color, it doesn’t always have to be a mood!

So this Grey Day, take your neopet out for a day on the town, read them their favorite books and maybe even give them a makeover or two! It may be grey day outside, but it doesn’t have to be a grey day inside too!
