Celebrate in Style: The Annual Chocolate Ball

by mreilynne

--------

Every year, on the 15th day of the Month of Gathering, an elite group of Neopians gets together in the Chocolate Factory to celebrate their love of chocolate. This prestigious party is known as the Chocolate Ball, and is hosted by a very mysterious Kiko in the Chocolate Factory. Since space is limited, invitations to the event are highly coveted. While delicacies and dancing are some of the night's highlights, Neopians lucky enough to be invited to the Chocolate Ball know that what you wear is the most important aspect of these fabulous festivities. In order to help you celebrate in style, I've compiled a list of some delectable, chocolate-themed Neopoint and Neocash wearables that are bound to appear on the infamous Chocolate Carpet. Here they are, along with their prices and cap values:

Neopoint Items:

1. Chocolate Chunk Foreground

This wearable's description says it all: "Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by chocolate?" These creamy chocolate chunks lay perfectly at your feet for all to see, and they certainly look appetizing. You may have to fend off some hungry Neopians trying to break pieces off, but this foreground is a great reflection of what the Annual Chocolate Ball is all about. If you do a bit of searching on the Shop Wizard, you will be able to obtain this stunning staple for a reasonable price of 15,000 neopoints.

2. Chocolate Frame

This is, by far, my favorite frame for any Chocolate Ball outfit. Not only does it show some hints of gooey caramel and tasty toffee, but it even incorporates all three types of chocolate: milk, dark, and white. Each individual truffle in the frame has it's own unique design that is smoothly executed. A plus to choosing this frame is that it is secure, so you won't have to worry about plump Poogles plucking off pieces throughout the night! Surprisingly, this is the least expensive item on the Neopoint list, since it only costs about 2,000 neopoints. It's an amazing value!

3. Chocolate Kazeriu Statue

Chocolate Ball attendees who want a more subtle incorporation of chocolate into their outfit are most likely to choose this lovely statue. This is an example of excellent chocolate sculpting that uses both white and milk chocolate, and even has a couple of cherries in the design! I am most impressed with this statue's size, since it's pretty large for a trinket. Taking all of this into account, the Chocolate Kazeriu statue is a fantastic find at its low price of 5,000 neopoints!

4. Chocolate Paradise Background

This background has everything a chocolate lover could possibly want: majestic mountains of milk chocolate topped with a white whipped topping, tasty trees, and a vibrant purple sky. I think it pairs well with any of the aforementioned chocolate wearables, which is why it's going to be such a hit this year. It is more expensive, costing a little over 80,000 neopoints, but it's sure to be seen on some of the more elite Neopians.

Neocash Items:

1. Box of Chocolates Hat

Every formal gown needs a fancy hat that matches, and the Box of Chocolates Hat is the best option for anyone attending the Chocolate Ball. What's not to love about this piece? It's heart-shaped, contains seven beautifully decorated chocolate truffle accents, and has a delicate pink veil that sparkles in the light! The different shades of pink and red in this hat make it easy to pair with any dress. Since you can find it for a mere 1 cap value on the Neocash Board, you'd be considered crazy if you didn't try to snag one of your own!

2. Chocolate Shoes and Tights

Everyone knows that, aside from munching on chocolate goodies, a night at the Chocolate Ball means lots of dancing in the ballroom. These shiny shoes and swirly tights will help you do that in style! They even have little pink-colored chocolate bows on them, which are an adorable touch. I think they will go well with any gown, as long as they don't melt! That would be a bit embarrassing. These shoes originated from Secret Meepit Stache, but can be traded for at a 1-2 cap value.

3. Chocolates Thought Bubble

While all attendees at the Chocolate ball think about chocolate on a regular basis (or they wouldn't be there), you can actually show off your chocolate-related thoughts with this thought bubble. By wearing this, you can let everyone else know that chocolate is always on your mind, and you're not afraid to show it! If that doesn't convince others of your elite, chocolate-lover status, I don't know what will. This cute little bubble only trades for a 1-2 cap value, so you should have no trouble getting one of your own.

4. Chocolate Top Hat

This top hat is a perfect accessory for the dapper gentleman looking for that extra something to compliment his formal tuxedo! It has a delightful milk chocolate base, which is accentuated by a white chocolate ribbon. This is a wonderful piece to add for a sleeker, more tailored look. The awesome thing about this top hat is that you never have to worry about it falling off – once it melts a teeny bit, it will stick on throughout the entire night! This hat is a little harder to find than some of the other neocash items, since it trades at a 2-3 cap value, but it still shouldn't be too difficult to add to your closet.

As everyone in Neopia knows, chocolate-themed fashion is the most anticipated part of the Annual Chocolate Ball. That being said, I hope my suggestions help you put together your own celebratory outfit! If you're going to be on the Chocolate Carpet this year, please give me a little shout-out, and let me know what notable outfits you see! I would really appreciate it. If you weren't one of the lucky ones invited to the Ball, sport your chocolatey wares anyway! You never know when the event's curious Kiko host will be on the lookout for new guests to invite next year...
