Where in Neopia is the Snowberry?

by chunky12316

--------

Recently I took notice upon the various Snowberry items afloat in the Neopian economy today. I found myself wondering where these delightful berries came from and set out on a quest to find a Snowberry of my own so I could study its unknown, unique flavors. I first went off to the berry patch where I was quickly assured there was no such berry growing there and was pushed away from the fields. If I were a Snowberry, where would I be?

Snowberry. Ah, snow! What a marvelous clue on where I should begin my search. I ventured off to the very top of Terror Mountain and made my way into the Super Happy Icy Fun Snow Shop. I walked around the store looking for my own precious snowberry, but my search only turned up a Snowberry Chia Pop, a Snowberry Ice Lolly, and a Snowberry Rocketpop. "Hmm," I thought to myself, "All these tasty Snowberry treats, but the source of their delicious tastes do not seem to be here." I made another round through the many tall shelves thoroughly checking them all, and when I still turned up empty handed, I waltzed over to the Lenny in charge of the store.

"Excuse me," I said, breaking the Lennies attention of stocking shelves. "Would you happen to have any Snowberries in the back?" He looked at me quite puzzled and said, "You know, we have these delicious frozen Snowberry treats, but I do not think I have ever come across a plain old Snowberry. Might I suggest you try checking the slushie shop further down the mountain?"

I rushed out the door while yelling a quick "Thank you!" over my shoulder to the shopkeeper and began my trek down the mountain. I zoom through the Ice Caves and finally come to the cozy village, Happy Valley, and make my way to the warm shop where I hope I discover what I am so eagerly seeking. I sat on a stool at the counter and looked over the menu until my eyes landed upon the Snowberry Slushie. "Sir?" I said loudly, signalling the Eyrie to come my way, "I see you offer a Snowberry Slushie in your shop, may I ask if you have any of the items that go into making this?" He laughed and closed his eyes and took a deep breath before saying, "I was just talking about the Snowberry to my friend at the Smoothie Shop the other day. I have marveled over the taste of the Snowberry Slushie and his Snowberry Krawkade for many years, but alas, I found out that we both have no idea where this fine treat can be found, and rumor has it the Coffee and Candy shop owners are both clueless on this as well... we have not had the chance to contact the Bakery yet, though, would you go for us?" I eagerly nodded and set off on a long journey back to Neopia Central.

I made my way to the Neopian Bazaar and entered the Bakery where my head swirled in all the delicious aromas coming from cakes, biscuits, cookies, and more. Not wasting any time, I went right to the shopkeeper who was just taking a loaf of bread out of the oven. He glanced over his shoulder and said, "Yo, are you here to to eata loafa breada?" I smiled while listening to his silly accent before speaking out, "No, actually I was just wondering if you offered any Snowberry items in your shop, and if you know where I can find a Snowberry of my own?" He pondered my question for a moment before flipping through one of his thick recipe books. "Snowberry Biscuits, Snowberry Delight, Snowberry Poogle Cake, Snowberry Quiggle Cake...." He paused for a second and looked confused. "These are somea my favorite recipes, but howa comea I have never seena whole Snowberry?" I glanced over his shoulder and said, "Don't feel bad, nobody in Neopia knows where to find the Snowberry, I've been to Terror Mountain and have heard other owners of Snowberry goodies have no idea either." The Bakery owner became flustered and went back to his oven without saying another word.

"Alright," I thought to myself, "There's only one more Snowberry item left for me to find, and ask the owner where the Snowberries are coming from, this shop owner HAS to know." I proceeded to look up the Snowberry Crepe and discovered it was sold in the Tropical Foods shop. "Well, that is odd," I said aloud, "Who would have thought a Snowberry was tropical." And so I made my way across the sea to Mystery Island where I stumbled into the hut and was greeted by a native Techo. "Hello," he said, in a deep voice, "I sensed you were coming to gather information on my Snowberry Crepe," I listened attentively and reached for my notepad to write down everything he was about to tell me. "Unfortunately," he began again, "I too, like the many others do not know the whereabouts of the Snowberry, or what one would even look like. They come to me all crushed up in mysterious packages, but if you ever find out, please let me know. They are my favorite treat after a long day at the shop." He waved me out of his shop and I began trudging home with many thoughts of the Snowberry spinning in my head.

So, If nobody knows where the Snowberries come from, how do we have all these marvelous treats? Something doesn't seem quite right here, could Dr. Sloth be the mastermind behind this? Perhaps the Snowberries are made of magic, they just appear when they want to, but then, how does nobody know what they look like as a whole fruit? Alas, my journey does not end here, my heart is set upon finding the mysterious Snowberry and I will not rest until I do... Okay.. Maybe a few quick naps, but rest assured, the Snowberries will be mine. May Fyora be with me, guiding me on my journey.
