Celebrating Borovan Day by fire_mistress_101

I’m sure everyone around Neopia has heard of Borovan Day, but it’s to my disappointment that I don’t see many pets fully embracing the spirit of this joyous occasion! Well, that, my friends, will change. Borovan, the much-loved hot beverage of choice for Neopians, is celebrated each year on the 20th Day of the Month of Celebrating. This illustrious day of festivities is perhaps the pinnacle, nay, the centre-piece on the table of Neopian celebrations. After all, who wouldn’t love to chow down on asparagus and hot chocolate-flavoured food and drink for a whole day? For those of you who have yet to discover the wonders of borovan, this simple guide is easy to follow, with step-by-step instructions to ensure Borovan Day is celebrated to its full capacity.
1. Show your love of borovan with pride by wearing the ever-fashionable Borovan Pin with pride. This pin has a rarity of 101 and is special for a reason – borovan. Whoever made this badge simply couldn’t keep their love of borovan to themselves. If you didn’t receive one from the Advent Calendar in Yr9, the Shop Wizard would be more than willing to find you a cheap one. You wouldn’t want anyone thinking you don’t like borovan would you?
2. If you have a spare couple of million Neopoints lying around, an extreme love of borovan and you have a Chia, buying a Magical Asparagus Chia Pop and feeding it to your Chia would be the icing on the Borovan Day cake. Your Chia will turn asparagus and will forever be the perfect tribute to borovan. You could also try your luck with the lab ray; however, this is quite risky as your Chia may turn gooseberry. No one likes a gooseberry on Borovan Day.
3. Begin the borovan celebrations with an aptly-themed breakfast. Did you know that borovan isn’t just a drink? The flavour of borovan can be captured in various kinds of food as well! For those with a sweet tooth, you could try the Delicious Borovan Crepe, a scrumptious pastry filled with borovan-flavoured cream and asparagus flakes on top for garnish. A Borovan Press would be a fine addition to your neohome and makes fantastic freshly-brewed borovan for those who love the just-squeezed asparagus flavour to start their day. Of course, there are various Flavoured Borovan drinks out there, including cranberry, apple, vanilla, and for those who want an exotic touch, super spicy is the one for you. 4. On Borovan Day, you can’t just spend your time indoors! Go out and explore Neopia, see what other Neopians are doing to celebrate and steal their ideas for next year! If you’re travelling around Neopia looking for last-minute Day of Giving presents, why not treat yourself and pick up a Table with Borovan from the NC Mall in Neopia Central. This will make a fine addition to any neohome, you’ll have an apt place for enjoying borovan all year round. 5. Does your pet need a quick borovan fix on the run? No one will know of your pet's love for borovan until they are seen with a stylish and functional Borovan Thermos. Now your pet will have fresh borovan whenever they please and will be the envy of all their friends. If you happen to run out, you can always make your own borovan to refill! Simply visit the cooking pot on Mystery Island and combine Asparagus and Hot Chocolate and *voila*, a Cup of Hot Borovan awaits you.
6. It’s the middle of the day, it must be time for lunch! You and your pets can happily chow down on some Borovan Chicken, pieces of succulent chicken marinated overnight in a specially formulated borovan sauce to add a little extra asparagus flavour. It is also one of the most complex Mole sauces around. Iced Borovan will complement the chicken dish nicely and is perfect for that sunny, winter afternoon.
7. Do you know of someone who isn’t celebrating Borovan Day like they should? I have a feeling Xandra has been angry because she hasn’t had the chance to celebrate Borovan Day yet. Spread the borovan cheer by surprising your friends with a Borovan Day Gift Basket! This thoughtful present includes everything you’ll need to celebrate Borovan Day at your neohome, including ready-made borovan and asparagus dipping sticks for that extra asparagus flavour.
8. Night has fallen. You and your pets are hungry for dinner. What shall you cook?! Never fear, for the epic cookbook 365.25 Borovan Recipes will save you from making the wrong choice. You will never be stuck for dinner ideas again with so many delicious borovan-oriented recipes to look through. My personal favourite is the Asparagus Borovan Lasagne.
9. How can you have dinner without a dessert to finish Borovan Day celebrations? The Borovan Layered Cake is perfect if you’re feeling particularly extravagant and don’t mind spending a few hundred thousand Neopoints. This cake will also contribute to your pet’s gourmet food count. How could such an exquisite cake such as this NOT be gourmet? There is, of course, the Borovan Pavlova, which is fine for those on a budget and those who have an acquired taste for cream and chocolate.
10. After such a long day of celebrating, eating, drinking and splurging your Neopoints on borovan and the annoying Wishing Well, I think you deserve a nice sleep. Before you get all cosy in your bed, though, why not read a bedtime story? Popular titles such as Borovan: The Truth Behind the Smell provide just the right amount of boring nonsense and interesting-yet-unnecessary information needed to lull you to sleep. You can also cuddle up to a Cup of Borovan Plushie to ensure your dreams are full of borovan deliciousness.
There you have it, fellow Borovan lovers, my ten top tips to celebrate Borovan Day. Feel free to mix it up and do what you’d like; there are many more borovan items out there and other activities to enjoy. Perhaps you’d like to spread the borovan cheer even more by handing out asparagus to all of your neighbours! Or maybe you’d just like to stay in your neohome and sip borovan all day. Whatever you choose to do, the choices are endless with borovan. Happy Borovan Day!
