Gourmet Club Trophy

--------

So you’re thinking of getting the Gourmet Club trophy for your pet but don’t know where to start? Hopefully I can help! There are a few things that you will need to know. First we’ll go over what foods are considered gourmet. Then you’ll learn what you need to do to get the trophy. Then we’ll go over some tips to help you during the feeding process. And finally you will need to know where you can buy the gourmet foods so you can start feeding.

Gourmet foods are any foods with a rarity of 90-100. Some foods that were gourmet at one point in time have retired and now have a rarity of 180. These foods will no longer count to your Gourmet Club score. Sounds pretty easy so far, right?

So now that you know what gourmet foods are, let’s talk about how to get the trophy. Your first goal should be to get the honorary member trophy. Once you get that you can work on upgrading to the bronze, then silver and even gold trophies! Each different gourmet food you feed your pet will count as one point in the Gourmet Club. The key word here is different. If you feed your pet the same gourmet food twice it will still only count for one point. Once you have enough points to make it on the top 200 of the high score list you will receive the honorary member trophy!

Now I’m sure you’re running to the Gourmet Club now to see how many foods it will take to get into the top 200 and thinking, “Wow, that’s a lot of foods. I’ll never be able to feed that many and man that is going to cost a lot.” Well, I have good and bad news for you. Yes, you will be able to feed that many! But it will take some time. Since your pets aren’t always hungry, gourmet feeding is a slow process. But if you are patient and dedicated, you’ll get there. The bad news is yes, this can be expensive. Don’t worry, though; you won’t have to feed the expensive foods like Draik eggs and magical Chia pops to get the honorable mention trophy; in fact, you can get the trophy without feeding any unbuyable gourmets (gourmets that cost more than 100,000 NP each).

As I said before, since your pets aren’t always hungry, gourmet feeding is a slow process. But there are some tips that can help you feed more often. The first way is to visit the Healing Springs. If you take your very bloated pet to the Healing Springs and the water faerie says "…and is not hungry anymore!" you can feed again in 3 hours. The keys to using the method are to make sure your pet is very bloated before you visit the Healing Springs and to have the pet you are feeding as your active pet. If you don’t get that message when you visit the Healing Springs, you can try again in 30 minutes. The disadvantage to this method is that you never know what response you are going to get when you visit the Healing Springs. It may take a few tries before you get the response you are looking for.

Another trick to feeding is the Rainbow Melt Pizza. If you feed your pet a Rainbow Melt Pizza, it will make your pet become very full. So it is best to feed this when they are bloated since it will actually make your pet hungrier instead of filling them up. Another advantage to this method is that the Rainbow Melt Pizza is a gourmet food, so not only will it make your pet hungrier, but it will count towards your Gourmet Club points!

Finally, and the most effective method, wait until your pet is dying to feed it. After you feed it, your pet will be starving. Then in two hours your pet will be dying again and you can feed it another gourmet. Yes, this does sound cruel, but it is the most effective way to feed. One disadvantage to this method is that you will not be able to battle with your pets if they are dying. But if you don’t battle with your gourmet pet anyway, that won’t be a problem. Also it can cause your pets to be unhappy if they are always dying and starving, so you’ll need to play with them to keep their moods up.

Now that you know what gourmet foods, how to get the trophy and some feeding tips, you are ready to start shopping. It is a good idea to have a list of gourmet foods before you start buying. This will make it a lot easier to figure out which foods are gourmet and which ones are not. If you need a list of gourmet foods you can find one that I have made here. Once you have your list, you search for these foods in the Shop Wizard, Trading Post, Auction House and Neopian shops. And since the Gourmet Club is about quantity, not quality, I’d suggest you start with the cheapest ones first, then work your way up to the more expensive foods.

Speaking of lists, you will probably want keep track of which foods your pet has eaten. You can always go to the Gourmet Club to see what foods you have fed, but you will only be able to see the pictures and not the names. This can make it more difficult to figure out if you have fed a certain food or not. Also there are some foods, the four pinannas and the deluxe water pizza and water pizza, which share the same image. If you don’t keep track of which of these you have fed to your pet, you will have no way of knowing.

I hope this information helps you with your goal of earning the Gourmet Club trophy. So start eating and good luck! Or as gourmet feeders would say, GET CHUFFING!
