Quote of the Week

For the first time in a while, the sun was streaming in through the windows, and the clouds were banished. Melise and I were both awake, and both trying to find the strength to giggle at one another's breathlessly executed stories.

A Hidden Land: Custard World!

Hey, Neopians, I am Ron190 “Ronnn” the Custard Eyrie. Something you probably don’t know about, a very wondrous place, is my home, the land of Custard World, and that’s what this article is about. My gooey paws aren’t so good for operating a typewriter, so one of my friends, Robin329 the Custard Ixi, asked his Owner, mbredboy31, to type this up for me. mbredboy31 even managed to get a spot for my article in The Coconut, which he told me is the most trustworthy newspaper in all of Neopia… what an honor!

"Kauvara's Mixed Potions" by bubbles150
A male Pirate Xweetok dressed in a Dapper Xweetok Trousers, Dapper Xweetok Shirt and Waistcoat, Explorer Backpack, Dapper Xweetok Shoes and a Cool Xweetok Wig just walked past Kauvara’s Magic Shop with his Petpet, a Snowbunny when he noticed a sign posted on the door. “Hey Mumbo, there’s a sign on Kauvara’s door, let’s go and see what it says,” the Xweetok said to his Snowbunny named Mumbo who nodded. The note was written on a Scrap Paper in messy blue writing. “Help urgently needed! Come in stores for details!” the Xweetok read aloud. “What do you think, Mumbo, should we go and help? It’s a bit of a bad timing though, I wonder if Kauvara knows that it’s April Fool’s Day tomorrow!” he said as he looked down at his Snowbunny. “I think we should help out! You know, she possibly forgot about tomorrow being that day, we should play a trick on her!” Mumbo answered looking up at the Xweetok. The Xweetok smirked at Mumbo’s suggestion. “Alright, let’s go in and ask her what we need to do to help her,” he took the notice from the door, and opened the door to walk inside with Mumbo.

"A Queen's Ascension - War:Part Twelve" by dudeiloled
"I have always dreamed of becoming your queen, ever since I was a little girl.” Princess Vyssa announced to the huge crowd of Neopets, a mixture of ordinary civilians and esteemed nobles, who were watching her public coronation intently. “Perhaps some of you will remember when I was declared heir to the throne by my father shortly before his death. Understandably, my father was not expected to die so soon after this – and I was but a child. It was then that Amira was declared heir. Princess Amira was a stable and peaceful ruler; she would have been the same as a queen. An old Sakhmetian law created at the time of Sakhmet’s origin prevented her from becoming queen without a king beside her. Because of this, Frezon was able to manipulate his way into the palace, and control her using a potion.” There were murmurs amongst the crowd at this comment, with many realising that all their questions were finally being answered.“At the time, the palace was unaware that this was Amira under the control of a spell. Princess Amira had been notorious for her rejection of suitors and this continued even when she was made aware of this law.

"Isolde and the Faerie Statue:Part Three" by tsiegred
Isolde was no stranger to falling. On Kreludor, there was a young Draik, a family friend who often visited her home. His name was Egrek. He was painted Shadow, just like Isolde, and the two felt a common bond because of it. They could often sneak across the moon undetected at night and play games with their friends. When she was younger, they often made trips down to Neopia during the morning, with the permission of Isolde’s parents the night before. The descent from the moon was always scary for Isolde. Egrek flew off the moon quickly, dove down to the main part of Neopia without warning, and rarely landed gracefully. One day, after crash-landing in a bush in Meridell, Isolde asked Egrek why he never waited or prepared her for when he was going to fly from the moon. Egrek laughed a bit. “Well, even if I count down, you’re still going to be scared, right?” Egrek said. “Of course, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still do it,” Isolde said, frowning. “I need time to prepare!”“For what?” he asked. “Listen, you’re going to be just as scared regardless of whether you count to three. I know you. What do you need to wait for? To stay afraid for a couple more seconds as opposed to getting it over with?”
