Yoinked! A Freaky Factory Avatar Guide

by weiyannn

--------

Have you been trying to get the Freaky Factory avatar, but a score of 1200 seems almost impossible? Is that Purple Grundo Thief driving you insane? Here are my tips to improve your score in Freaky Factory!

Before we get started, a quick overview of the game play: The Freaky Factory produces Plushies. There are 3 vats of Kreludite dyes: Red, Yellow, and Blue (from left to right respectively). Dye blobs of varying sizes hanging from a wire above the vats scroll past the screen. Ensure the vats are filled with the correct colours of Kreludite blobs. Once the Plushies are produced, they come out on a conveyor belt. Prevent the Purple Grundo Thief from stealing the Plushies off the conveyor belt to score points.

During a level, points are earned based on the colour and species of a plushie and your chain bonus. Rainbow Plushies that need 3 colours to be produced give you the highest score, followed by secondary colour Plushies that need 2 colours (Orange, Green, Purple), then primary colour Plushies that only use 1 colour (Red, Yellow, Blue). When the level ends, you get bonuses based on the time left, how many toys are left on the conveyor belt, and how many toys you had left to be produced.

Here are my tips on how to increase your score more easily.

     1) Before you get started, get comfortable with the device you’re playing on.

I usually play on a touch screen tablet as I find I can more quickly tap the Kreludite blobs and the Grundo Thief with my fingers. When playing on a desk top, I recommend playing with your screen 125% zoomed in so that the blobs are bigger and hence easier to click on. Both ways are possible, but it takes practice!

     2) Get used to the speed and trajectory of the Kreludite.

This is extremely helpful so you don’t miss a single blob. Every blob counts! But at the same time, you’ll have to watch out for the splash meter on the right too. During the later levels, blobs can zoom past at high speeds. If you can get used to the speed and trajectory, it can help juggle clicking on multiple blobs going past the screen. For a blob going fast, click it before it’s above its vat. For a slower blob, click it when it’s right above its vat.

     3) Chain bonuses.

Here is likely my most important tip. During the first 2 levels, ignore the starting colour and fill up the other two vats. If the first Plushie in queue is a Yellow Plushie, ignore all yellow blobs until you have filled up the Red and Blue vats. This gives you a bigger chance of getting the chain bonuses.

Chain bonuses are the most important part of getting a high score in this game. Chain bonuses start at 1 for the first toy, and they increase exponentially. 3 points for the second toy, 6 for the third toy, 10 for fourth, 15 for the fifth… 21… 28… 36… and so on.

The first few levels of the game tend to request small batches of Plushies (1-2 Plushies per order) of primary or secondary colours (1-2 colours). You will have a higher chance of earning chain bonuses in the earlier levels. In the later levels, where bigger batches of Plushies of either secondary or Rainbow colours are requested, it is harder to get a bigger chain.

     4) That brings me to my next tip: Protect your plushies from the Purple Grundo Thief, especially when you have a chain going on!

When you have a chain of Plushies on the conveyor belt and the Grundo Thief steals one, it leaves a gap between Plushies produced and you lose your chain bonus! So if you had a 5th Plushie in your chain, not only do you lose the points for that Plushie, you lose the 15 bonus points!

It might take some practice to fill the vats and chase away the Grundo Thief at the same time, but if you have a chain going on, focus on keeping that safe and focus only on big blobs that come through. Once you get more comfortable with clicking between the blobs and the Grundo Thief, then you can aim for a higher chain.

The second most important time to chase away the Purple Grundo Thief is when there are Rainbow Plushies on the conveyor belt. Not only are they worth the most points, nothing feels worse than working hard on getting all those vats to be filled, only for the plushie to be stolen right after!

     5) Lastly, here are the special blobs to look out for:

Evil Blob: These are blobs with an evil face - they have a mouth, and scary teeth! DO NOT CLICK ON THEM! Dropping an evil blob into a vat drains that vat of Kreludite, and dropping it on the floor increases your splash meter significantly.

Angel Blob: Drop the Angel Blob into a vat and it will that colour to the max. I usually save this for the Red or Blue vats as Red and Blue blobs only come from one direction and may be more sparse. However, in the later levels, drop it into whichever vat you need the most!

If the Angel Blob is dropped onto a Plushie going along a conveyor belt, a halo will appear around the Plushie and you get bonus points for it. However the extra points are not worth the risk of splashing it on the floor, so I only use it to fill a vat.

Green Radioactive Blob: Clicking on this blob changes colours of the plushie that are currently on the conveyor belt to a higher tier. Red/Blue/Yellow Plushies will be changed to either Orange/Green/Purple. Orange/Green/Purple Plushies will be changed to Rainbow. Rainbow Plushies are not affected since it is already the highest tier.

The maximum number of toys on a conveyor belt is 4 toys, so if the radioactive blob is going by slowly, try to wait for more toys to be produced before clicking it. This blob does not do anything when there are no Plushies on the conveyor belt so don’t bother going after it if there are no toys being produced.

Soap Blob: Decreases your splash meter. Try to keep your splash meter to less than half as you’re going into the higher levels. Splashes are more prone in the higher levels as blobs zoom by more, and you might need to sacrifice some splashes to use a big blob to get a Plushie produced.

Ice Blob: Slows down the conveyor belt. Avoid this! Not only does it stop chains from happening, it also makes the plushies more susceptible to being stolen.

Purple Blob with Wings: The speed blob! Having the opposite effect of the Ice Blob, this one speeds up the conveyor belt. Very helpful if you are running out of time.

Giant Sleepy Blob: These are GIANT blobs of one of the three colours. They immediately fill up your vat, but because of how big they are, they also add to about half of your splash meter. Try to avoid this. The mess isn’t worth it!

The best blobs: Clock Blob and the Atom Blob. ALWAYS CLICK THESE!! The Clock Blob gives you more time, and the Atom Blob, which only appears in the later levels, completely fills up all three vats.

Keeping these tips in mind, especially chain bonuses (Can you tell I love chain bonuses?), I hope your score gets higher each time you play. And maybe you might even grow to love the game as much as I do!

     Good luck and happy playing!
