Quote of the Week
Ever since he'd become a full-fledged tinkerer, the little Albot had been by his side as both a symbol of his mechanical pursuits, and as a trusted Petpet who always seemed to comfort the Kacheek when needed.

10. Radioactive Sloth Cake
Here is a little-known fact for you. Originally called Sloth Cake, it had to be renamed after the following incident. When presented at a banquet honouring Dr. Sloth, everyone was amazed at this cake that glowed in the dark. However, when a slice was consumed, the eater would also glow-in-the-dark! After the initial panic subsided, those that glowed engaged in a game of glow-in-the-dark tag inside the Grundo Warehouse that is still remembered fondly to this day on Virtupets Space Station. |
 | No Boring Birthdays: 26 Fun Ideas for Your Big Bash!
Grab your cake and toss your confetti in the air - Neopets is having a birthday celebration! Every birthday is an exciting milestone and should be treated as such. I know what you’re thinking…EVERY birthday?? YES! That’s 26 in Neo-years. Each birthday is a special event, but it sure can be difficult to come up with ways to celebrate that aren’t overdone. Everyone goes with cake and balloons, so I understand that it’s getting a bit stale. You definitely don’t want a “been there, done that” birthday party. Here are 26 special ideas you can use to magnify the fun and celebrate with excitement!
1). Kick it off with the right invites: Pick a party theme and design your invitations to match. Use a bold colour scheme and an attention-grabbing font. Include cheerful pictures, and don’t forget to add your information for guests to send their RSVP.
2). Setting the scene with delightful decor: String up faerie lights all around to add some whimsy and softness.
3). Build a balloon arch: Forget about those helium-filled, boring balloons on strings. For your party, you’re going to want to construct a bold balloon arch! Balloon arches are a fun twist on basic balloons. All you really need is a support frame, a weighted base (use water bags or bags of sand), and a bunch of balloons of course! You’ll be able to assemble a decorative display and dazzle your guests with your creativity. |

"Sprinkles for Jasper" by stella_123_5 Pixie the Chocolate Kacheek loved her job. A Chocolate Pet running a bakery— depending on who you asked, it was either a little morbid (no more so than a not-Chocolate pet selling non-vegetarian food, Pixie always insisted!) or a little on the nose (the Grarrl running the Battle Magic shop hardly needed armour in the middle of Neopia Central, but no one gave him any grief for being ‘on the nose’!). Her favourite part was decorating her cakes and cookies. That’s why she liked the end of the year the best — between the Faerie Festival, Halloween, and the Day of Giving; she had plenty of custom orders to bake and spend time giving her own personal touch to. (She'd loved making the pumpkin spice Halloween cookies a little too much, and there was still a whole batch of them left— still fresh, thanks to a little trick with faerie dust.) That being said, this lull between Halloween and the Day of Giving did tend to get a little boring— save for a certain something. “A plain bagel and coffee, please.” Pixie looked up from her notebook, where she'd been sketching the drafts for her holiday cookie designs, to meet a pair of large, startlingly red eyes. She faltered for a second, entranced by the way the Halloween Vandagyre’s unblinking eyes glowed under the warm lights... |
"Another Year Older" by qeenoneo Virtuze knew that his birthday was creeping up on him, and that within no time the day would soon be upon him. His siblings would always come and sing Happy Birthday so loud, and he would strain a smile as he loved them so dearly. Virtuze did not like to celebrate his birthday, and he seemed to dislike it more and more every year. This year will be no different, he was certain.
It was the day before the dreaded day, but he was trying to not let it occupy his mind. He had errands to run around Neopia Central and had to stop at a few shops to collect some things for Mother. He also knew that Trysks was working at Cog’s Togs today so he might even stop in there to keep his mind distracted and his day full.
His first stop was the Book Shop, where Mother had asked for 3 books. It would have helped if she was a little more specific because he had no idea what she was actually wanting.
“Any 3 will do, you pick for me!” she said to him before he set out for the day. Not helpful at all.
The shop was empty when he arrived, but there were some Neopians around waiting for it to restock. He found a quiet spot to sit down while he waited. He watched the others and felt himself looking at their colourful customisations, with thoughts creeping in that he was finding hard to keep away. |
"The Birthday Mage" by parody_ham It was another Friday in the Citadel. Neopians bustled through the streets selling a mixture of Darigan, Meridellian, Brightvalian, and other products. Fall was in full swing, with Neopians eagerly buying sweets to hand out to friends and loved ones. It was the end of the harvest season when Neopians from all three lands met together to discuss more than just treats… or tricks, for that matter. Surviving the at times harsh winter with pooled resources, both edible and magical, was the primary concern. And so it was that Serian, a Darigan Eyrie almost three heads taller than his yellow Aisha companion and Meridell’s chief librarian, Lisha, found their way to the Tri-Kingdom Community Centre, a place of study, of spirited discussion, of disagreements and emotions laid bare, but also great victories forged between nations once considered bitter enemies. It was built upon the ashes of “The Children of Kass” orphanage, a recruitment centre in the guise of a shelter used by the former Lord. After the second war, it fell into disrepair. For many, it became a daily reminder of darker times. Needless to say most Darigans did not mind the change; rather, they embraced it. It was after a particularly thorny talk on combating invasive species that Serian excused himself and sat on a stone... |
