Koi Day was on the 25th of Hunting and all Kois were given a fancy dancy
makeover. I own a Koi as well as a Gelert. Kois require special attention,
and compared to the Gelert, they are a handful. Most people live in Neopia
Central, which is tough on the Koi, due to the fact they cannot walk.
But in test-development are Fish Walkers, turning Koi, Flotsam, Jetsam
and Kiko into legged creatures, of course operating more like stuffed
pants that can be taken off. For now, sports open to Koi (and the rest
of the aqua pets) are Gormball, Swimming, and Battledome. They can't wait
for these so called Fish Walkers so they can ski, kick, and do other stuff.
Remember, these might not be approved by the Neopian Staff of Fine Foods
and Other Items, so don't get your hopes up. People once thought they
could make things not approved by the NSOFFAOI, and guess what? Ernk!
Nope! Zip! They wasted money on making nothing!
Well, now back on the subject of Koi. Koi were discovered last October
when a Wocky, Usul, and a Blumaroo were searching for the Battledome.
Chiazilla pulled these 3 pets down under the water and they ended up in
Maraqua, where they found Dr. Chesterpot, a famous Acara. The Koi were
very friendly, including King Koi, who didn't change as the rest of the
Koi did on Koi Day. Koi are said to be famous inventors, making inventions
such as the Squidtoothbrush, Wrenchfish, and the Jelly Bed. They also
are great with animals, mainly because Maraqua is home to a lot of wildlife,
not just NeoPets. Koi are the 3rd best PetPet keepers, only beaten Usuls
and Elephantes. Another thing Koi is famous for is their HP giving food,
but it works best on the Koi themselves. If you own a Koi, make sure to
feed it aquatic food!
Koi are credited for creating the blueprint for over 12,500 NeoHomes,
only bested by the Eyrie (17,500) and the Acara. (15,000) However, Koi
are currently the number one leader in underwater furniture, and they
are begging for NeoHomes to be placed in Maraqua. The only real known
Underwater Furniture to date is the Blue Coffee Table and the Bean Bag
Chairs.
The scales the Koi have are great for the Battledome, as they make good
defense or offense. Most Kois live around the Underwater Battledome,
and fight the Water Faerie, Jetsams, and on occasion King Koi in the Battledome
Koi have a knack for reading. They love about all the books, except get
picky when they don't like the book.
Koi aren't as bad as they look. They are very gentle, really, but don't
like being called 'baby' or 'chicken.' They can easily defeat anyone who
is being mean to any pet, even on ground. Koi use their arms to get around
and can do some interesting damage.
In a recent article, Care
of Koi published in issue 57 and advertised on 58, people may
understand most about their pets. Koi don't need all that much spraying
as the article says, but do need a lot of water. Buy the items Bottle
of Water and Two Bottles of Water for your Koi, and let it fight with
Water and Bubble Motes. Also a good advantage to the Koi is that they
can last about 60 hours after a visit to the Healing Springs.
Koi can be fat or thin, after the makeover they had they seem to of lost
weight. Koi don't have any weight specifications, as Koi aren't always
NeoPet, but actually 99.25% of them are. The Not NeoPet Koi are dying
out, and can be seen only in the Wild Koi Protection Agency in Maraqua,
as King Koi said. King Koi actually was one of these wild pets turned
NeoPet, and wants to save the rest. They also can be seen hovering about
Maraqua, if they have an IQ of 75 or more, as directed by King Koi.
Koi, unlike the Gelert, do not like competition, and don't enter the
beauty contest often. One week, there were only 5 Koi with votes near
the end of the competition, the top had 23 votes the rest had around 3!
Also, they aren't very helpful to the public. Every shop or attraction
costs you to visit almost, so Koi can get greedy. To make sure your NeoPet
isn't greedy, the Sardplants are very good discipline. Also, Kois don't
like Jelly, so feed them Jelly-related snacks when they get greedy. Look
out for Jam Snacks too!
Koi love Neopia Central just as much as any pet. However their favorite
NeoHome Place is 100% Mystery Island. Make sure you get some oceanfront
property when you're getting your NeoHome Also a good idea is to get a
bedroom made out of cloud, they usually contain moisture which is good
for your Koi's sleep. If you don't have a NeoHome get one at Mystery Island
if you own a Koi. Otherwise, get one where your shop is. If you have a
Koi and live in Faerieland, there isn't much to worry about, but Koi don't
like that much clouds, which is so far away from water. In the other places
(Terror Mountain, Spooky Woods, Neopia Central) be sure to get a room
of cloud, because your Koi may lose moisture.
Koi never discovered anything in their short history, but have invented
quite a lot of stuff. The Secret Laboratory was created by Koi, inherited
by the Scorchio who currently lives there. Koi also are the inventors
of the Golden Paint Brush, the inventors of the new Robo Pets, and also
created the Neopedia! Let me tell you, if you own a Koi, you own a pet
with a lot of honor.
Strangely, Koi don't like the Rainbow Pool much, explaining why there
are so few paint brushes for them. They say the water is dangerous and
one Koi reported seeing Dr. Sloth in Rainbow Pool, along with 3 Jubjubs,
2 Light Faeries, and 83 Bluebells. Now, I don't know what you think, but
that's sorta weird.
Koi are big voters. They vote every 5 years for a new King Koi, participate
in Ski Lodge and Sacrificers annually, join the Soap Box at birth, and
hang around the Front Page, where the Neopoll is held. They also vote
in the Beauty Contest, instead of entering. Koi feel good knowing they
participated in some way and helped somebody reach their goal or change
Neopia.
Koi are known for their ability to hack into NeoPets database. The last
server down, which last 3 days, made for certain users (I was caught in
it) was created it by Ithimus Orlan Kerabilia the Koi, the Neopian Top
Hacker. However, 99.99999% of all Koi do not like to hack, so do not worry
about adopting one.
The things Koi love collecting is Juppies. Believe it or not, there is
a recipe that involves a Teal Juppie and a certain berry that creates
a fruit that is the #1 Juppie in Neopia, even though it doesn't end with
Juppie. Let me tell you, Koi also love eating Juppies. They are petitioning
for a Snow Juppie, Lava Juppie, Cloud Juppie, Spooky Juppie, Prehistoric
Juppie, Space Juppie, and a Water Juppie, one for each world. Remember,
you can send other Juppie Ideas to NeoPets at ideas@NeoPets.com
and possibly earn 100 NP for it! Pretty nifty, eh?
