Making a Living on... Books?

I know what you’re thinking. Yeah, yeah, books are only worth 10 Neopoints. They practically aren’t worth the money! Well, in this article, I challenge you to think again. When was the last time you checked the book prices? Since they became readable only once before they were returned to the shop, the prices have soared. Some are even up to 1,000 Neopoints per book! This piece will tell you my secrets on how to make a living on books.

Step One

The first step in operating a successful book shop is to find out the market prices. That means going to the Book Shop to see what it is selling, and for how much. You will need this information for step two, which is to look the books up in the Shop Wizard.

Step Two

Step two is to search for the books that you found in the Book Shop in the wizard. You should look up as many as possible to see what’s hot and what’s not. It is good to find out that way, because some books are quite pricey, even in the shop, and you might not get your money back by selling them. Some of the more popular ones right now are all the Neopian Encyclopedias, the Geometry series, and any books relating to Lupes.

Step Three

Ah, finally! The fun part! Now that you know what you want to buy, you can go to the Book Shop and buy them! Make sure you only buy what you know will get you a profit when you sell them (although you can always buy others to make your pets more intelligent).

Step Four

Now that you’ve bought all your books, you need to put them in your shop. Once they are in there, go to the Shop Wizard and search for each book there. Price the books about 5 Neopoints cheaper than the cheapest on the Wizard. If you bought the right books, you will be gaining profit, how much depending on the book.

Step Five

Now that all your books have been sold, it’s time to collect the profits! Usually, you will end up making a lot more than you spent buying the books. I recommend putting the profits in the bank, so that it is less tempting to spend it all. You should try to save as much as possible, so that you can buy that expensive item (new Battle Dome weapon?) right when you want it!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I make a living. It brings in good profits,and your bank balance comes up fast.
